As soon as the door to the Lucky Noodle had opened the early lunch hour crowd filed in, and found their seats. "Ah. Ms. Crane. A pleasure to see you as always, he bowed his head to the familiar regular, as well as newcomers to the shop. Within seconds the shop was bursting with activity. Hoshi and the other servers went to work taking orders.

"Of course," she said to a first timer, a young man familiar from the streets, adorning a pair of sunglasses, asking for the restaurant's best dish. "The Chicken-Broccoli bowl is very much acclaimed; simple yet delicious. Seasoned to order as well."

As Hoshi hurried off to put in the first wave of orders, Shimazu approached the young man. “Hello,” he bowed graciously, and extended his right hand. “Ken Shimazu. I’ve seen you around town, but never here. So welcome. Feel free to ask myself or anyone else on staff for anything you might need."

With little more to add to the conversation, Horace simply nodded in affirmation. “Four o’clock will work for me. I’ll inform the security detail at the hangar that we’ll be executing these tests.” He rose to his as Maria made her exit. “I’ll have my reports done before I depart for the hangar.” As Diana made her leave he passed a professional nod to Dr. Michial, and something resembling a salute to Canis-V before exiting the conference room himself.

As he boarded the elevator back to the Security Headquarters, he pulled out his phone and sent Diana a message.

If I’m not mistaken, we have other matters to be discussed at a later time?

"Hi. I'm Katherine Tran. I'm here to meet with Diana Smith." KT had just arrived on the Executive Level and was checking in at the secondary security checkpoint. Things were definitely tighter these days; more than when her father had been around.

"Yes. Ms. Tran. We got the call from downstairs. Just sign in on the tablet and wait out here. New policy is that all guests are accompanied by a Veridian employee at all times."

"I understand." KT turned on the tablet mounted on the desk next to her. It was a bit of a process, filing her name and address, scanning her photo ID, thd reason for her visit... the only thing they didn't ask for was her social security number. When she was done, she sat herself in one of stock lobby armchairs and awaited Diana's arrival.

70th Street Bank Heist

Theresa stood over the hostages while Valentina dealt with the bank tellers. It was a bit of a bore having to babysit, and she quickly found herself wishing someone would at least have the audacity to make a move, or throw a punch her way. As if. her reputation around Mapleview had preceded her well enough that no one in the bank could shed their self-preservation for heroics. The pragmatism was admirable… but lame.

As if in answer to her wishes, a sound of metal being torn apart echoed from somewhere in the back. Theresa looked to one of the 70th grunts, and cocked her head towards the sound. "Check on that... yes. Right now." The grunt hurried off. Seconds later gun shots rang out, followed by the agonized scream of the grunt. "Sounds like I've gotta deal with this one myself," Theresa said to herself. She looked around to the other 70th Streeters and ordered "keep these sheep in the pen," as she departed towards a back hallway.

She rounded the corner in time to see the grunt she had sent in floored by a large, robotic... "What in the Hell are you supposed to be?" She looked up at the metallic figure that stood over her underling. "Can you move?" the 70th groaned in pain. "I'll take that as a no." Theresa stepped up, and stowed the downed grunt's gun on her person and looked back at the intruder. "Whatever you are, you're cutting in on the wrong business. Back off now and there won't be any trouble." She cut in between the machine and her comrade.

As the early birds flocked into the Lucky Noodle, a black sedan with heavily tinted windows rolled to a stop along the curb outside. Glaring from the opposite side of the front passenger door, a pair of eyes scanned up and down the street and sidewalk. “The old man’s certainly done well for himself.” Zhang Taiwu’s words seared out scathingly, fogging the interior of the window. He narrowed his periphery onto the car’s driver, nodding for him to bring the vehicle to a proper stop. Once the wheels settled, Taiwu cut a look over his shoulder, where Xiao Feng’s face would peer back, silent, and half-shaded.

“Don’t expect this visit to go down easily, boss,” he said. “His body might have lost a step, but I’ll bet his mind is still sharp as a steel blade.” Of course, that was why Taiwu was party to this particular visit; nothing like a little heat to soften the steel. Reminding himself of that fact, he opened his door, and climbed out onto the sidewalk. Shutting his own, he pulled open the door behind him, allowing his boss to step out as well. As he shifted to make way for Feng, he felt the back of his neck prickle. Nine years in and the emblem of the Blue Dragons still burned where the ink had set in.

Location. The Pits

The Pits

Twice, sometimes three times a week, the Underground of Mapleview and Little Asia plays host to "The Pits." Named after the coloquial term for Tartarus Prison, The Pits are an unregulated fighting league that operates mostly through word of mouth. The lack of rules and vetting system means that age and sex divisions and weight classes are eschewed. Similarly so, Supers and normal humans routinely square up against each other. Because the police and, moreso, Department of Superhuman Affairs are constantly seeking out the operation, The Pits is constantly rotating through a network of venues, mostly in the backrooms and basements of bars and nightclubs, and abandoned storerooms and warehouses through its primary districts.

Many desperate souls in Mapleview fight in The Pits looking to scrape an extra hundred dollars; Martial Artists in Little Asia do the same, looking to demonstrate their power and prowess. The 70th Street Gang and The Blue Dragons regularly scout The Pits for recruits. Both gangs often send their enforcers into the ring, either to fight their counterparts, or to rough up people who have run afoul of them.

Business Type: Unregulated prize fighting ring.
District Location: The Pits operates through various location in Mapleview and Little Asia. Occasionally fight nights will find a home in Halcyon Heights or Riverside, but these moments are rare.
Owner(s): The true owner of The Pits remains a mystery. Every so often the rumor mill pitches ideas. Popualar among spectators is that it's a ploy by the Delgato Crime Family to keep 70th Street and The Blue Dragons occupied and contained. Other rumors range from the city government, to a Veridian Tech intel Operation, to a set up by the DSA itself. As surely as the rumors start to circulate, so to are the hushed, either by the buck or the bullet.

Doctors scrambled to assess her condition, but the hospital in Mapleview was ill-equipped to diagnose her properly; in a wealthier district she might have been seen for what she truly was. What little was understood was that one phenomenon or abnormality was causing excessive strain on her infant body. Miraculously, Sarah’s condition stabilized, yielding a full recovery after a few further tests, Sarah was released to her mother’s care. She would grow up and grow tough on the upper-south end of Mapleview, at a crossroads between The 70th Street Gang and Blue Dragon territory. Outbreaks of the gang war were common; despite their proximity, the PCPD rarely intervened, opting to quarter off and clean up the aftermath. Distrust in law enforcement was validly ubiquitous in Sarah’s block; the residents found it best to safeguard themselves and their neighbors as best as possible. Sarah would find security with other youth and young adults from on her street; she came up latch-key style, as her mother held multiple jobs, hoping to one day get them out of Mapleview. Sarah knew through most of her youth that she was different from her clique. Spontaneous feats of strength, and bursts of speed were common when she would get into gang scraps; she wrote it off as adrenaline, while knowing there was more to it, until a run-in with some “Baby” Blue Dragons shed the veil. In her self-defense, a 15-year-old Sarah unleashed a wave of energy, knocking back five assailants, heavily injuring one. An elder contact in Little Asia, perceptive of and witness to the ordeal, explained to her the concept of ‘Chi’ or life energy, and how he could sense hers flowing so freely and powerfully with so little training. After some convincing, Sarah committed herself to better learning to control her “Chi,” employing it as a tool to meet her ends of protection and survival. She spent the intervening years building a reputation as something of an arbiter of order in her part of Mapleview, working both sides of the gang war and putting down fights when they broke out. Her efforts soon earned her a degree of scorn from both the Blue Dragons and 70th Street Gang for standing in the way of their respective expansions -a consequence she was prepared to shoulder.- Little did she know that her endeavors would earn her a side eye from one Veridian Technologies. The Story Continues September 1st, 2060. Sarah awoke late from the aftermath of a night of matches in the city's underground fighting ring. Despite damages, she had walked out of the night the victor, besting the 70th Street Gang enforcer Theresa 'Toro' Torres, The Bull of 70th Street. Shaking off the weariness and bouncing quickly back from the soreness of the prior evening, she made her way to the Lucky Noodle in Little Asia, where her Sensei, Ken Shimazu, made his living. After a lecture of Shimazu's Disapproval of the underground fights, she was set to practice her martial arts in the restaurant's basement storage room. However, her session would be cut short by the arrival of the Blue Dragons, who came with their leader Xiao Feng, and his right hand, the pyromancer Zhang Taiwu. Sarah entered the dining room in time to assist Shimazu, her friend Madelyne Crane, and newcomer Kenzo Yamamoto, in driving away the Blue Dragons, herself landing a hard blow against Zhang Taiwu. Before they could regroup, the arrival of Julia Kray, coming in search of Maddie, also heralded the coming of large and powerful monster (unbeknownst to them, "The Weeping" from the Melting Pot on the other end of the city). The monster kidnapped Maddie, shrugging off all efforts to stop it, but left a clue in the form of an amulet that seemed to point like a compass toward something... But as Sarah made her exit, the order of PCPD officer Micheal Donovan and Detective Steven Donahue, forced her to remain until their preliminary investigation could be satisfied. Sarah, at Ken Shimazu's encouragement, anxiously provided her testimony... About This Character: Sarah has been a long backlogged character of mine. Her initial conception came on another forum sometime between 2011 and 2012. Back then she was different in a lot of ways, while the same in others. My vision for her in terms of aesthetics and ethnic 'look' if you will has changed drastically; I strived to make that aspect of her character more ambiguous, for not other reason that it just felt more like to the character. Whether or not I'm achieving that is for others to assess and analyze. Her powerset, though not always using the same terminology, has remained functionally constient. Her two primary inspirations are Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z, and Etherena Beta; the latter being a flash game my brother introduced me to sometime in the early/mid 2000s (I want to say it was on NewGrounds, but I honestly don't remember for sure. Her backstory has similarly seen the same general story beats: a street kid that lived a latchkey lifestyle in a hard city, who by some cosmic lottery has a deep and potent reserve of life force energy, and uses it to defend herself and those she cares about while sometimes also venting the frustration of not understanding why she has such powers to begin with.

Since her first run over ten years ago, she's seen multiple redrafts, and a lot of overthinking on my part in terms of how best to see her through a proper story arc.

Prior to Heroes Rise, her last showing on The Guild was in the TZDL Tournament held in the Arena.

I decided it was time for me to start a character sheets thread. Mostly, it is for my own records on-site, as well as maintaining updates on characters after their (or my own) time in their respective RPs has expired. I can only hope that they will be well-received by those that view them.

I'd say the only ones that would be already taken are Shiva for a later appearance, and somewhat more obviously... Knights of the Round.

Hoshi being combat focused, could be something like Ravana or Susano (Doesn't need to be actual SUMMONS but just like... things that have been summoned in FF history). Those would depend on how much she actually enjoys fighting and competition. They both love combat and being challenged, just one is fire aspected, the other is water.

Hoshi would definitely be more of a fire aspect. I wonder if a Summon could be used in a manner akin to a drive form? Other than that, I'd say a Hoshi summon would be like in FFVII Remake, where the summon fights alongside her passively, and then unleashes its power moves on her command.
