Blaine Moore

Location: Washington Square
Interacting With: Genevieve Alleron {@Alfhedil}, Devin Jackson Lumier {@WolfLover}, William Maevrsky {@Polaris North}

Blaine was ecstatic. There was simply something about being in the company of Genevieve that made her happy like she'd never been. True, the two of them were no more then good acquaintances at this point, but she felt a connection there that warmed her heart and placated her soul. And it wasn't the familial bond she felt for her pack mates. To her they were children, brothers and sisters rather than anything else. This, this was different. Stronger. More rewarding and filling. And then, of course, there was the healthy, or unhealthy, depending on your point of view, dose of wishful thinking.

Blaine grinned at Genevieve's tease about how she wouldn't be able to land a hit on her. Even delivered with a smidgen of awkwardness, the intent behind the words was sound. And Blaine's wolf yearned to answer the challenge. She was Alpha, she did not back down. "Well..." She almost purred, or growled, in her case. "There is only one way to really find out." She flashed Genevieve a fool toothed grin. "You, me, a sparring mat." Blaine chuckled.

Inwardly she pondered her bold, even risque, attitude around Genevieve. She was not one to openly seek out communication or interaction with others. She wasn't a complete hermit or recluse, but she did prefer her solitude. But she felt the strangest of pulls towards this woman. As if like they were two magnets with opposite polar charges. However they struggled and fought this thing, they ended up inevitably pulled to one another. It was clear by this point that neither of them was comfortable with social interactions. And even more so uncomfortable with close interpersonal communication. And yet, here they both stood, among this mass of people, like two islands in the see pushed by the currents towards one another.

Blaine peered at Genevieve, her inner elation at the presence of the other woman still vivid within her. "Well, if you've done your duty and have been working hard, as I'm sure, since morning without a bite to eat, what say you we peruse the many culinary delights this festival has to offer. We can find something decadent to indulge in and a more private place to enjoy it at." The Alpha bit the side of her lip, dreading what she'd just said, realizing it could totally be misunderstood as a flirtatious proposition. She hadn't meant it that way! Or had she. Somewhere, deep down inside. "I mean, since neither of us is much of a people's person." Blaine added quickly to save face, turning a little pink.

Before either of them could react to Blaine inevitably putting both her feet in her mouth Devin approached the two women requesting a minute of her time. He pulled his Alpha a few steps away, but not before the ex rescue diver could glimpse something akin to irritation on Genevieve's delicate Asian features. Well, well, well. Blaine mused. Is this what I think it is? Or is it just my bloody wishful thinking again? She filed the thoughts away for later analysis, as Devin began voicing his and William's concerns. He hadn't even said a word when all hell seemingly broke loose within the square. There were screams of horror and pain and Blaine's aggression rose to dangerous levels. Her wolf clawed to emerge, but she gripped the urge with an iron fist. If she lost control, her pack mates were soon to follow. As Alpha it was her duty to always be the calmness among a storm.

Blaine put a reassuring hand on Devin's shoulder. She closed her eyes and concentrated until she could feel clearly the life energy of all her wolves within the vicinity. Her features darkened when she could just as easily discern the signatures of outside Weres within the square. "My wolves." She telegraphed her thoughts to William and old Volber. "A foreign threat encroaches on our territory. They expose us to the world in the worst of lights. Stand fast and calm. Do whatever you can to help. Do not shift! And above all, stay safe. William, Volber, I'm sending Devin to you. Find Kat. Stay together, do not separate! Help people! Keep each other safe.I will deal with this threat on my end."

Blaine severed the link. She looked at Devin. "GO!" She twisted him in the direction of William and Volber and as he left, turned and was at Genevieve's side in two long strides. But before she could open her mouth to say something, a man and a woman appeared. The man carrying an injured girl in his arms. And the woman... The woman put all of Blaine's senses on high alert. However Blaine tried to keep calm, her animal instincts were screaming in warning, her aggression was boiling within her veins at the thought of outside wolves attacking her town at a time like this. She clenched her fists as she sensed the onslaught of her partial shift. She could not afford to expose herself right now. She would never do anything to jeopardize her frail connection with Genevieve.
@Traps I'm still in. I don't mind dice rolls even if I've got the Wil Wheaton curse In my case it would make for many a funny circumstances and you can laugh at watching me try to go around a bad roll
Safira looked the kenku up and down. He didn't seem too stable on his feet, but that didn't mean he couldn't pose a threat. Still, going by what he said, if she understood him well enough as his common was somewhat unrefined, he meant no harm. The blood huntress relaxed a fraction. Her hand still on the hilt of her scimitar, but her posture less guarded and ready for attack. As she was about to apologize for her gruff reaction another figure emerged from the brush onto the crossroad. This an ethereal looking woodland elf who greeted both her and the kenku upon approaching. Safira sighed internally. Splendid, more people! She bemoaned in her head. One of the advantages of travelling through forests was the solitude it provided and the slim chance of meeting other travelers. Of course that advantage went down the drain at crossroads. And the chance to intersect with other folk increased. So Safira tended to avoid those. But that was not always possible.

She could have dealt with the kenku alone, but the appearance of another person amped up her discomfort level and the apology she'd carefully prepared lodged itself in her throat almost painfully. She swallowed nervously, considering what to say in this new situation when all social hell broke loose and two new people stepped onto this now overpopulated fork in the road. The first a jittery half-ling male and then a human male of humble appearances that also looked like he had no use of his eyes, but still had sight. Safira focused for a second on the half-ling who observed her with a fearful but determined expression as if she was intent to slaughter all present and he would be forced to try and stop her.

Gods, help me! I'm terrible with social interactions on my best days. Dealing with crowds... Her thoughts died out in her head as the newcomers voiced their introductions. No one seemed to be of ill intent, still Safira knew evil hid in many forms and disguises, so letting her guard down completely was an impossibility for her. But to demonstrate good will she stepped back and made an effort to further relax her stance, gripping her scimitar with her left hand and raising her right arm to her heart.

"Apologies." She made eye contact with all present individually. "I travel alone." She paused as if trying to find words. "Lose my manners." Her words sounded chopped and as if forced out of her mouth. An intent observer would catch her apparent discomfort at having to interact with this many people at once. "I am Safira Gerrus. Well met."
@Traps Like I said, I'm not good with understanding the design behind the mechanics of a game, but I can certainly work with a system of mechanics and what you're proposing will not pull my interest from this. For me it actually adds another layer that I will enjoy. So I'm in all the way.

Edit: I've been watching this role play Nebula Jazz on youtube that I believe uses some form of the Fate system... So I might be to some, even if minimal extent, familiar with it
@Pennydumb123 Ah, well, I suppose that works I can picture him being jumpy around her all the time. Later on... who knows
@JBRam2002 I actually meant our halfling dad's view of the situation. If I'm not mistaken he saw Safira as having drawn her weapon and appearing to try and kill Bobbin. True to pretty much anyone she would appear menacing and dangerous. But at least her weapon is sheathed.

I just forget to tag properly when I'm out of it >.<
I like this idea... I'm not very good with mechanics in general, but this would add a nice flavor to the game besides the narrative. My character would certainly be up for all four steps to varying degrees. I envision her well adapt to repairing, some creation, heavy on the innovation and some small inventions.
For the record... Safira never drew her sword, or scimitar rather.
@Traps I have a pilot/engineer with a bit of inventor from a steampunk RP that never got off the ground that I was planning to adapt to this and was waiting for the OOC and the complete lore, to properly do the migration. I would still like to keep the pilot bit, as I love airships and would want to role play as the pilot of one
Safira's sleep was fitful. And it wasn't due to the fact that she was a couple of feet up in a tree secured to its trunk by a rope. Generally she preferred to keep to herself. Social interaction was... not easy for her. Even after all those years out in the world, away from the prison of her childhood, she still had trouble connecting to people. Communicatig. When she did manage it, it sounded strained, awkward. But being who she was and looking the way she did, it mostly appeared like she was gruff or outright angry. And so she kept to herself. But traveling alone had its disadvantages. No one to take shifts with you watching over the camp. No one to watch your back. Hence why she was sleeping up on a tree, tied to its trunk.

Well, sleeping was putting it mildly. Rather, she was having a terrible nightmare. She had them often. Some recurring, some not. But always in the same vain. Either horrible, distorted and enhanced recollections of her childhood. Or the most vile of horrors unleashed upon all the lands one could ever imagine. The armor clad woman woke up with a start, closely followed by a grunt and an exasperated sigh.

"When will it stop?" She whispered tiredly under her breath and looked about. Her hunter training immediately took over and she couldn't help but notice yet again the unnatural animal inactivity in the forest. She'd sensed it immediately when she'd first entered these woods. Had it not been the reason she'd ventured into these parts, she would have been immediately on high alert. As it stood she had been tracking this phenomenon throughout a few forests in the hopes of finding the source behind it. It had to be something unnatural. And it was her duty to make sure it was nothing fowl. She'd sworn to rid the world of all evil. Even at the cost of her own life. A terrible image, burned indelibly in her memory, flashed in her mind's eye, making her clench fer eyes shut. The Blood Hunter's whole body tensed for a moment, two, three. And then a sigh and the tension was gone.

"Well... If I can't sleep, might as well move on." Safira said to no one in particular, untying herself from the tree. She replaced the twine of rope on the side of her travel pack, secured that on her back and gracefully lowered herself down from a branch. Her long frame brought her close enough to the ground that she simply released her hold and landed quietly in a crouch on the forest bed. Straightening she took a moment to reorient herself and finding her direction forged on.

After an hour or so she came up on a fork in the road and a signpost placed there to direct travelers. As Safira slowed her pace and approached the signpost, she spotted a figure approaching from the corner of her eye. Her right hand went instinctively to her scimitar, grasping the hilt, her body at the ready. She turned slowly towards the other traveler, careful not to transmit any form of aggression, but also vigilant to present herself as someone not to be messed around with.
