The starting post was supposed to leave the mystery open to whether or not Squad 914 succeeded in their mission, but were still remembered either way. It's a lot harder to pull off nowadays, but I might include it early on in the RP instead of in the post.

Yeah, I had someone else asking me about that earlier in the PMs and I explained that there was no way for the US to go to Russia. They are too concerned with their homeland to do anything about it

As for the Finnish idea, I am interested and can easily accept something of that historical context. Go ahead with it!

Well, I meant more so establishing who's going to be whose friend and/or romantic partner beforehand and then slowly incorporating that into the posts as time goes by. I'm not saying our characters have to know each other off the bat, but I was just playing with the options.

If you want to organise such, I guess you can. But incorporating it would also work. If you wanted to, you could ask those individuals prior. I know I would like some beefiness and relations with other characters.

I've been mulling over the idea of a Finnish sniper (the irony of a Finn fighting for the Soviets...), but not entirely sure if I'll go through with it yet. Just wanted to note a potential interest!

The Finnish would be hard to justify, but it is possible that they could work. If you can come up with something justifiable I would love to see it done. Otherwise, I would love your interest and can assist in other nationalities if needed.

Well yes, most of them would have. Aleyev was the first one on the train though because he was with Aytre before they actually arrived onto the railway. He'd have met a few Russians/Vietnamese from previous battles but not since he got on the train.
