Amelia was silent as Freya gave what was an even longer speech that was Amelia had given on her point of view. Still, she paid attention to all of it, even though most of it was the kind of philosophical questioning that was a little above her, especially the more... questionable implication. When Freya finished, Amelia was silent for a bit once again before she finally spoke.
"I never said that our pokemon were entirely unwilling. I simply said that I do not think it's fair to have them battle and I don't think they enjoy the suffering. You are right that they are very intelligent. As I said, all my friends here CHOSE to join me willingly. If they want to battle, I will take part in it. If I need to battle for something I believe in, I hope they will help me.

In regard to most of your questions, I am not able to answer them at this time. I would need time to think on them and sort out my thoughts on such things. But I don't think I will be doing so for a while, as I simply want to go around the region and enjoy what it has to offer.
I think the journey is the most important thing and one should enjoy it. While I might not agree with how everyone enjoys it, I don't see a point in telling them not to do what they're doing unless it's actually causing harm to others or pokemon who shouldn't be dragged into things.
"

Her speech done, she turned towards Steph's battle, watching to see how it would go.

Amelia was so lost in thought, she didn't even realize she had returned to town and made her way to the pokecenter. When it finally did dawn on her, she had to look around in surprise, wondering just how hard she had been thinking about this. It then dawned on her that Phantump had floated away. She cast a quick glance around and thankfully, the little ghost didn't float too far away. Infact, it was in front of her and the next thing she knew, it had tried to scare the people it had targeted, a pair of people ahead of her, one of them clad in armor. Amelia's cheeks turned red as she moved forward, grabbing the little phantom, as her other ghostie friends floated around her.
"Sorry about that. I hope she didn't scare you." Amelia said while Phantump was just snickering in her trainer's arms, blissfully unaware of the possible trouble it might have caused.

Shortly after, another trainer approached, this one with a Hawlucha. Amelia glanced at the boy for a second, feeling as if she saw him somewhere before but she couldn't remember. So, she made to try and slowly move away, uncertain if she was interrupting anything.

Amelia accepted the Water Whistle with a smile, thanking Palpitoad before leaving, letting the three friends sort out the dispute they were now having. That was none of her business, as she had only agreed to find out what had happened to the water stone. The fallout of the truth would be up to the others to decide.

Thus she eventually made her way towards and into the Wet Caverns. If she hadn't been taught better, she would have been caught off guard by the swarms of Zubats that suddenly appeared around her. But, she had been warned of such things so they only gave her a little fright before making her way deeper in, watching out for any Geodudes as well so that they would remain undisturbed. She had no desire to battle any pokemon right now and simply focused on exploring. As a result, she would eventually make her way to the intersection, looking at the possible three paths in front of her. All seemed like they were sort of bad options but the third path that led in the darkness was of interest of her. She didn't even question what she felt down there, she knew what she was sensing: Sableye. It was the only Ghost-Type that made it's home in natural caves, looking for gems to feed one. She couldn't think of any others.

That being said, trying to go down there would be tricky. She had no good form of illumination right now. Sure, she could use Litwick's flame, as long as he made it big enough, but feed off the life force of others might be seen as an attack by the other pokemon and result in trouble for her. So, for now, her best option seemed to be to turn back and find a new solution.

As she walked out of the cave, she was lost in though and failed to notice the two trainers ahead of her. How they got there without her noticing them passing by was up for the imagination of others. Phantump, however, did not fail to see the two trainers ahead of them and immediately knew what needed to be done. Without a single thought towards the consequences, the little phantom silently floated over to Eryn and her partner, floating behind and between them before suddenly letting out a loud cry.

TUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMPPPPPPPP!

Amelia was slowly beginning to get frustrated with this whole situation, the lack of any progress finally beginning to wear away at her patience. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down as she turned the sun stone she had been given around in her hand. As she did so, she noticed that the stone was oddly sticky. Looking down at it, it dawned on her that that was not the only odd thing about the stone. It didn't sparkle in the sun like one would expect. Most evolution stones were crystalline in nature and despite being a sun stone, this one lacked spikes. Moving it to her other hand, she saw some orange now sticking to her palm and fingers.

Glancing over at Smeargle, she moved to the edge of the lake and put the sun stone in the water, rubbing it with her fingers until the paint came off, revealing the missing water stone underneath. Standing up, she showed it to the trainers before moving over to Palpitoad and held out the stone to it.
"I think this is yours. Take good care of it." She said to it. Once the stone was taken back by it's owner, she stood up before looking at Smeargle, Ledyba, Leila, Eric, and Annica. "I think you got some explaining to do Smeargle. But, I think my work here is done. I wish the three of you luck."

With that, she would walk away, her pokemon following after her as she made her way towards the Wet Caverns, trying to actually get further away from Pureplain City now.

"S-sorry." Amelia quickly apologized, embarrassed to have gotten the name wrong even though it had just been said to her. Thankfully, Freya didn't seem too offended by the slip up, something for which Amelia was very thankful for. Freya's response to her reply when it came to the gym challenge was not surprising to Amelia, who knew a lot of trainers loved to battle. So, when the question of her enjoyment of battle came up, Amelia was silent for a bit before speaking. "I'm able to battle. Someone taught me how to do so. But, I simply have no desire to see my friends get hurt for sport. I didn't battle any of the pokemon here. I simply asked them if they would come along and after some discussion, they agreed to come along. Phantump being an exception because he was given to me. But regardless, if the situation was reversed, the pokemon sent us into battle, would you enjoy being shocked, burned, frozen, poisoned, cut, beaten and hurt for the sake of a sport you had no say in taking part of? I don't battle because I don't want to see them get hurt. But I will battle if I must."

She then pointed towards Steph's battle with the fisherman.
"Over there is a good example. Steph simply walked into him by accident. A simple apology and all should have been well. Instead, he starts a battle for something as minor as that, without thinking about his partners and Steph joined, probably because she enjoys the sport. But I don't think either of them really stopped to consider an alternative solution or whether or not hurting their friends and partners was worth it. I just can't find a point to it all."

Done with her response, she immediately looked a bit worried, wondering if she had worded it well but also worried that she might have offended some of the people around her.

Amelia watched Freya closely as the older girl talked to her. She liked the air that Freya gave off. Freya seemed to be the kind of person Amelia might hope to be when she grew up. Confident, kind, and most of all, free. That was the kind of person Freya seemed to be to the young girl. Then Freya brought up her name and Amelia's visible eye widened.
"Kopac? As in Professor Kopac? The one who gave me Phantump?" She asked, while reaching out to shake Freya's hand. When the question came up on if she was going to take the gym challenge. Once again, she had to shake her head in response to the question. She was getting the feeling that this was going to be a question that she was going to hear a lot. She hoped that her answer to it would never have to change. "No, I'm not. I have no desire to do so. I'm just journeying to be free. I want to go where I want to go and I want to do what I want to do. I As for me using Ghost-Types, well... I would say their as attracted to me as I am to them. I had a lot of Ghost-Type friends back home."

Freya's kind and gentle aura, if that is indeed what it was, was something Amelia didn't miss out on. The taller girl seems to be trying to comfort her in a slightly indirect manner and it did produce some minor results, as Amelia did cast a few glances out of the corner of her eyes, trying to work up the courage to actually look at the older girl.

As if on sensing their trainer's discomfort, Amelia's pokeballs suddenly popped open, all of her pokemon coming out, Phantump being very noticeable because, well, shiny, getting a cry of surprise out of the little spirit medium. The ghosts all moved around her, Phantump and Yamask hovering over her shoulders, Golett standing at her side, and Mimikyu standing at her feet until Amelia picked her up into her arms. Immediately, Amelia felt more comfortable as she faced Freya, giving her a smile.
"Sorry about that. I guess they knew I needed the support. I hope they didn't scare you." She said, all traces of nervousness in her voice gone. Even her posture seemed much more relaxed now. "Yes, Steph did tell me about you and it was nothing but good things. I can understand her, but sometimes it can still be a bit difficult. Oh, I'm Amelia by the way. Amelia Averyonna. It's nice to meet you. And these are all my friends."

The journey to the fishing store was nice and peaceful. Amelia did her best to keep up with Steph's pace, managing to do so with little effort, though she suspected that Steph might have slowed down a bit for her. But as they walked along the Route, Amelia took the time to look around at their surroundings. She had grown used to being up late and as such, she was usually still asleep until around noon, making being up this early a bit of a new and refreshing experience. Seeing things cast in the light of early dawn wasn't dissimilar to the world in cast in the light of dusk, save for the pokemon that were coming out. As they walked, Amelia paid a mind to her sixth sense, always eager to see if she could feel a Ghost-Type nearby.

When they reached the fishing shop and the wood quay that it was built on, she watched the pokemon swimming around beneath the surface of the water, wondering how many she might be able to recognize. This resulted in her lagging behind a bit and with her attention elsewhere, she didn't notice when Steph stopped to battle the fisherman who had decided to pick a battle with the older girl. This resulted in her running into Steph, letting out a small cry of surprise as she fell back, managing to stay on the wooden path. As she was getting up, she heard someone mentioning Steph by name and had to look up to see a very tall and very pretty looking girl. The next thing she knew, this giant was kneeling down to her height and even complimenting her, something Amelia had not been expecting.
"Oh... um... tha... thank you." She said in a low, embarrassed voice, quickly looking at the ground as her cheeks turned bright red. She still wasn't used to being given compliments by people she didn't know and she honestly wasn't that cute... was she? Surely she was just average. "But... uh... oh, you... are you... Freya?"

Amelia was happy to see that Steph seemed to be in a good mood and was more than willing to slow down to show Amelia a thing or two about being out in the wild and how to take care of some basic things when not in civilization. As such, once she was done packing up her things, she moved over to Steph's side and watched and listened carefully to everything that the older girl said. The first thing was breakfast and for this, Amelia actually brought out what looked like a sketchpad and pencil that she had in her bag and used these to write down the instructions and ingredients Steph used, that way she would have it on hand in case she and Steph either got separated or went their separate ways and Amelia couldn't recall the recipe from memory. Thankfully, Steph kept it simple, but the meal was also still rather flavorful. Amelia was more than happy to eat it and share it with her partners, all of whom seemed to enjoy as well.
"Thank you for the meal, it was very delicious." She said once she had cleared her plate.

After that, Steph moved on to what they should do when it came to leaving camp. Amelia understood the importance of this bit and when the lesson was over, she had Golett put out the fire they no longer needed with it Mud Shot, that way the embers would be out for certain. With all of that done, she would be read to head out with Steph, as the older girl listed their objectives for the day. Amelia was fine no matter where they went, though Starbor Village still made her a bit nervous. It was just a small boat ride away from Florasong and that made it way to close to home for Amelia to be completely comfortable with. She had been planning on passing through the village as quickly as possible before, but if Steph felt like staying a bit longer, Amelia would put her reservations aside and try to enjoy herself. After all, it would be her first time in the village.

As they walked, Steph brought up another person they might meet, a girl named Freya. Steph didn't give too many details on the girl's personality and her description of this Freya was a bit more on a vague side, but she reckoned she would be able to recognize the other girl if she spotted her.
"I'll be sure to keep an eye out for her as we go. What kind of person is she though? Have you known her long? Is she a trainer as well and if so, what kind of pokemon does she use?" Amelia asked, figuring such details would help paint a bit a of a clearer picture..

While Steph was getting up and around, Amelia slept on in the sleeping bag she had used for the night, finding it more comfortable than the solid ground. Her pokemon where gathered around her, Mimikyu, Phantump, and Yamask all finding somewhere to rest on, next, or above her while Golett was awake and watching their surroundings, being a good sentinel. The automaton turned towards Steph as the older girl got up, watching her for a few seconds before raising a fist in greeting.
"Golett." It said before lowering its fist and returning to its guard duty, letting Steph do what she wanted.

By the time Steph returned from her morning of training, Amelia was awake and still looking a little groggy as she packed up the sleeping bag.
"Mooooooooorrrrrring." She said with a yawn, rubbing her eyes before giving Steph a while. "Sorry. I'm usually still asleep at these hours. I didn't keep you waiting too long did I? Do you have any plans on what we're going to get into today? Oh, wait, we should probably think about breakfast first, right? We can't do anything on empty stomach. But, uh... I've never cooked anything before, so... would you be willing to teach me?"
