Roxy stayed out of the way and tried to ignored the conversion between mother and daughter. She felt out of place. She was glad that Jess and her mom seemed to be bounding again. The empath would need all the support she could get. Roxy wouldnt deny Jess that support. She was lucky to have it. It wasn't likely that the empath knew how lucky she was to have a parent that actually cared about her and wanted to. Roxy would do what she could to make sure that Jess stayed connected with her mother. Even if it took her out of her comfort zone.

Griffin spent the night hunting. He had to be careful how much he took from each person. It wasn't easy. His instincts insisted in death but he didn't want to kill anyone. He hated hurting people. But vampires had moved past them. Well most of them. There were some who still wanted the old days. He felt much better once he had blood but it didn't solve his inability to deal with the others. He had gone from having a chance at being a leader to barely being part of the organization.

He got a message from the director saying that he and his partner had a case. He was hesitant. He wasn't sure that he could work with the golem. He felt he needed someone who was better at emotions than he was but he had little choice and he could be wrong. Things hadn't gone well with the others. He headed to the agency.

The others had gathered by the time he arrived. He wasn't sure whether not it was bad that he was the last to arrive. He felt awkward. He didn't want to attract their attention nor did he want to hang back like he was afraid. Finally he approached the group but said nothing.

Roxy didn't care what the others did. She was curious. She smirked as the saying 'Curiosity killed the cat' popped into her head. It was strange to think that applied to her now. She slowly stepped out of the dining room. She looked up and down the hall. She saw no guards. There were cameras but she didn't care if the mad scientist saw her or not. At least not right now. Some day she would escape this place but she wanted to learn how to control the instincts that came with the panther DNA she in her. She refused not to have control when she got her freedom.

B didn't think she was anything special. She had spent her whole life feeling invisible. She had made peace with it for the most part. She built herself a quiet life. She found a charming Cape Cod house to rent and a job that she enjoyed. She had quiet hobbies that she could do on her own. It wasn't the best life but it was a good one. Sometimes she longed for more and would try a dating app or new hobby but she always ended up going back to her quiet life.

One day she got the strange feeling that she was being watched. B looked around as she made her way to the house she rented but she saw no one. She couldn't think of a single reason anyone would be interested in her. She hadn't done anything that would draw attention to her recently. She had to be mistaken. Maybe the loneliest of her life was getting to her again. Maybe it was time to try to get out more again.
