For the longest time I accepted that pronunciation, but in recent years I have grown rather disenchanted with it - largely due to the fact that the letter 'H' is not pronounced as clearly as it is written. I believe a more appropriate pronunciation would go something like this:

KIN-EYE-JJJJJJ-HHHHHH-IT

(You know you're saying it right when you're feeling like you're about to have a heart attack.)

I just say it as it's written, a one-syllable Jvan. Literally 'van' with a 'J' at the beginning. The J kind of melts into the V - and it does so quite well. Much easier than saying knight how it is spelt.

As for Y'van, which is what the Vetruvians call her. I actually pronounce it 'Ee-van'. Our local Jvan Evans.

Anyway, I've been hanging on to this music video for like, six months, in the hope of using it in the Vetros destruction post. But thought I might as well share it now. It's Yara's sound-track. If you listen very carefully near the beginning, it sounds like the singer is saying 'Yara'.
