According to what I just read every Digidestined is a Tamer but not all Tamers are Digidestined.

Exactly. The main cast are some prophecised heroes of the Digital World, everyone else is just a normal tamer.

I'm not sure if Digidestined even exist outside of the first two series.

In the second season there numerous Digidestined all over the world, the main ones on the show didn't know about them until they needed them for the final fight (memory is sketchy on that).

Tyler already said that she's not one of the original Digidestined, so that is fine.

My memory is a little hazy as well but I'm fairly sure that the other people with Digimon in the second season were only tamers and not Digidestined, which are not the same thing; Digidestined are the chosen ones essentially, fabled warriors, while tamers are just people with Digimon.

I'm not sure why no-one seems to recognise Winter's character if that is the case.

Samantha grew up as an only child in the coldest place she can imagine. It wasn’t all bad, Snowpoint City is a beautiful place surrounded by natural splendour, most of which is inaccessible to a child, but there just isn’t much to do there. The only points of interest are the Gym, the Temple and the nearby lake and while this may be enough for a tourist, when you are a local there is only so many times you can visit these places before you get bored.

Although Samantha loves her hometown she has also always wanted to leave; specifically she has always wanted to be a Pokémon trainer. Lots of trainers passed through Snowpoint city to challenge the Gym leader, so many that they made up probably 70% of the travellers who came through there, and Samantha would spend a lot of time in the gym so that she could watch the battle and also so she could hear their stories.

The thing about trainers is that they usually like to tell tall tales about their adventures, exaggerated or not, to the point that everyone around them gets bored of hearing them. But Samantha was never bored. She would listen to the stories of any trainer who was willing to tell them and would always try to imagine the places they described and remember to look them up later. The wandering, vagabond life of a trainer has always seemed like the perfect existence to her, and when she got the chance to enter her name into the lottery for the Ol’ Trainer Project in Kanto that’s exactly what she did, every time she could, until she was eventually chosen.

Though she has been audience a several battles in the Snowpoint Gym over the years, Samantha has no first hand battling experience nor did her family keep any Pokémon as she was growing up. The journey she is about to set out on will be the first time she has tried to train or battle a Pokémon.

Honestly, I'm having the same kind of reservations as @Double looking at this RP. The fact that in most of these posts people are just doing their own thing and not referencing what is going on around them is not great. It's fine to say your character doesn't listen to people but at least mention that she is ignoring them in the narration.

The fact that people seem to also be ignoring the fact that Deepmon just Digivolved and attacked everyone is also not a good sign.

An RP with this many people needs to be a bit more structured and planned out I think, because if everyone just goes and does their own thing we get... well, this mess.

But hey, I'm just the guy who's here to provide random monster battles. I don't think these issues will affect me as much as it will the rest of you.
