That's why I agreed on Cosmos' idea of having them disappear on different missions, that way it's not so simple as just sending a teacher.

That's what I was going for. It would be a situation that the teachers wouldn't be able to solve because they wouldn't have enough information about the group responsible.

The group that Cosmos mentioned can indeed be a group of witches that have as goal to strengthen the Kishin.

When it comes to the nature of the villain group I think we could do one of two things. Either we decide as part of this planning stage who the villains are (A coven of witches, a faction of particularly advance Kishin Eggs, a group of rogue Meisters/Weapons, etc), include information about it in the first post and allow anyone to create characters belonging to that group. Or we have one person take full narrative responsibility of the group, either the GM or someone collaborating with the GM, and they take control of all NPC villains and have their main character be the final boss.

The former gives people a chance to contribute to both sides of the story and turns the RP into a PvP thing, while the latter means that the identity of the villains is kept a secret so both the writers and the characters find out more about them at the same time which could help to make the story more immersive.
Yamagata quietly sipped his green tea as he waited for their ‘host’ to arrive. He had arrived early, as he had planned, but surprisingly he was not the first; when he had been asked to relinquish his weapons and enchanted items another set of equipment already lay in a neat pile to one side. A thin shirt of chainmail and a pair of short swords were the stand out items, but there was also a small collection of items and weapons that Yamagata had learned to associate with ninjas.

Contemplating this information as he removed his own gear, setting his bow and quiver against the wall as he removed his armour and laid his tanto before it, Yamagata wasn’t sure what to make of a ninjas presence here. He was even less sure what to think when he saw the ninja in question. As he was led into the room the only other person present was a young woman in a red kimono; she was clearly not another servant, but also did not fit his image of what a ninja would look like. But then, wasn’t that exactly the point?

Taking the seat opposite the young woman, Yamagata requested a bottle of green tea and settled in to wait. As time passed more and more people began to arrive and seat themselves at the table; mean and women, young and middle aged, there didn’t seem to be much of a pattern to those who arrived aside from the fact that they were all younger than him. But all of the men appeared fit and strong, some bearing the scars of battle, and while the women were all beautiful he already suspected one of being a ninja and had no reason to think the others weren’t equally dangerous.

As the spaces around the table began to fill up the presence of the empty seat at the head of the table became more and more obvious. Yamagata continued to sip his tea and tried to calm his nerves.
Just an addition to the above, my suggestion about everyone making a meister and a weapon shouldn't interfere with people who want to createa weapon/meister pair by themselves, or people who want to play a villain or even a solo weapon. I don't want to restrict anyone in what they want to write.
@Squirrel98, I have a few comments to make so I'll just go through them one at a time.

First of all, when you say there are three groups of students what do you mean? I ask because there are already two distinct classes of students in Soul Eater, the NOT class and the EAT class. EAT are the students we see in the main series who go on missions and are aiming for the goal of creating/becoming a Death Scythe, while the NOT students are those who are not at that level, either weapons who can't control their power or meisters who don't have a partner/aren't strong enough to fight Kishin Eggs. Are you saying that you want the EAT class to be split into three levels based on ability, or would something like 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students be better?

Secondly, I liked the sound of your idea at first but then it kind of fell short for me. The idea of the strongest students starting to disappear and no-one knowing why is cool, but the fact that they all disappeared on the same mission has a few issues; the main one being the question of "why not just send a teacher?". Why wouldn't Shibusen send someone like Stein of even call in a Death Scythe to deal with a problem that is killing off so many students, why send the weakest students in instead?

I think a better idea might be if students start to disappear on unrelated missions, sometimes even after completing the mission objective. The plot would be that there is a rival organisation, something like Arachne's group from the series, that is picking off Shibusen students one at a time for unknown purposes; they would either kill them or capture them, but either way the students just vanish. The RP might start off with our characters setting off on a group mission and being attacked by this group along the way, fighting off the attackers and finding out some information about these enemies that sets off the events of the plot as we start to unravel who they are and what they want.

Lastly, I mentioned this in the interest check but I don't know if you saw it, but I think it would be fair if everyone makes one meister and one weapon and then pairs up with other people; i.e. I make a weapon and pair them with another person's meister, then make a meister and pair them with a third persons weapon. That way we have an even number of meisters and weapons no matter how many people join and everyone gets to the full experience. Because let's face it, being a weapon is great until a fight starts and you have nothing to do.
@ShovelKnight sorry for the delay. I'll try to get a post up either today or tomorrow. I've just been stuck as to what to write since Yamagata isn't exactly the type to make small talk.

Before I start writing however there's something I'd like to clear up. Am I right in thinking that the summons our characters were sent had the Shogun's seal on it? I've been acting under the assumption that Yamagata knows who it was that sent the summons but everyone else's characters are acting like its a mystery.
Most likely. A shame, but not too surprising; I had some cool villains planned too.
As promised here is the work in progress copy of my profile. Now none of you have the excuse of waiting for someone else to put their character up.

If anyone is unclear on what her weapon is supposed to look like, let me know. I do have an image of it, I just didn't use it because the only images I can find are of it being wielded by another character.

If anyone is confused by how her semblance works... so am I, but I'll endeavour to explain it better if need be.

I wonder where's everyone...

I've been trying to write my profile but instead I just spent an hour looking up the names of Japanese sweets because I want to match the CFVY theme of naming characters after desserts and she's probably going to be Velvet and Yatsuhashi's kid. I have a couple of ideas but I'm conscious of accidentally naming my character with the equivalent of calling a kid 'doughnut' in English.

I already know what her weapon and semblance are going to be so at the very least I'll get a work in progress profile up tomorrow so the OOC isn't completely dead.
“Hunt? I thought this was a breakfast run, since when did this become a hunt?” The Wisp did not seem to be paying any attention to him as she pushed past him, chasing after the retreating forms of the fire-wielding Goblin and the other one who had thrown the torch at her. Letting out a weary sigh Oberon followed after Mourningstar, fluttering his wings to take to the air and better keep pace with the other flying creature. It was becoming a familiar situation, following after the troublesome Wisp as he attempting to keep her alive through whatever calamitous plan she came up with.

As he followed her he raised a hand and focused on her form, casting Minor Heal as requesting and watching as the smallish burns and singed fur began to repair themselves before his eyes.

Your MP is low.
System:Oberon

Gliding past the other Oberon spied the small Lizard he had seen earlier, the one who had asked for his healing as well before darting off the attack one of the many greenish figures around the bonfire. His prior examination had proven his theory that she was human, or at least something more than an ordinary Lizard, though she didn’t look it as she was now with her fangs digging into the green flesh of yet another Goblin.

Whatever she was, she was an ally of sorts for the moment and he had offered to help her. Stretching out a hand in her direction he used another Minor Heal to fix whatever damage had been done to her before Mourningstar had managed to distract her attackers; though given had sprightly she seemed he wasn’t sure how necessary it was.

You have no MP remaining.

And so I begin to fall into my familiar role. But then, wasn’t this what I had in mind when I picked this creature to begin my new life?

Crushing the last remaining mana crystal in his hand Oberon felt the now familiar sensation that he had begun to associate with his magical power being restored.

You have used a Mana Crystal. MP is fully restored.
0 Mana Crystals remaining in Inventory.

By this point experience told him that he could only cast three basic spells before his mana was depleted, something which had been pretty much confirmed by the system message earlier; that wasn’t nearly enough to make him feel comfortable. As he and Mourningstar continued to pursue the Goblins he began to wonder if he should throw all of his energy into attacking them with the Wisp and hope for a quick victory, or save his spells to try and get them out of this alive when things inevitable went wrong?
@Tenma Tendo add Velvet to that list please, I'll definitely be using her as a parent.
