Elzbeth

Elzbeth had been in the capital city for a few days. She had purposefully made her way there sooner. Elzbeth had wanted to understand the atmosphere in the city before entering the castle. Now she had watched a handful of other obviously powerful people all showing the guards the same rune she had. They had been summoned for the same meeting Elzbeth assumed. She tucked her lighter carefully under her left hand sleeve. People shook hands with their right for a reason. If need be the lighter was easily accessible. She hoped she wouldn't have to light anything on fire inside the castle.

With a sigh of trepidation Elzbeth walked up to the guards. She wore her travel clothes instead of her stage clothes. The difference was in the amount of material covering her body. It was best to keep clothes to a minim on the stage. Added to the realism of the danger. Fire was indeed very dangerous to most people. To Elzbeth it hadn't been dangerous in many years.

"State your business." The guard gruffly spoke to Elzbeth.

"I've been summoned." She held up the rune for the guard to see. He seemed unimpressed at this point. Enough people had proceeded Elzebth that her rune was of little note. She didn't care, she just wished to answer the summons. Hopefully it wasn't for traveling with Glair and that strange girl. Elzbeth was fairly certain Glair's sketch had been on the walls calling for his arrest. Dumb man had been caught again at his thievery.

The guard led Elzbeth into the throne room. It was currently being used as a war room. The map caught her attention first, what was that one gentleman's name, he had been quite fond of maps. That had been a short arrangement. Elzbeth's eyes drifted over each individual in the room. The King, his wife (more powerful in Elzbeth's opinion), the guard (high ranking obviously), the strong wizard Ophelia, then the other summoned. She tried to figure out what each of them were. When she had made a short assessment of each present she bowed slightly toward the King and Queen. She was not native to their county, but she'd give them their due respect.

The tingle of so much magic in one room was disconcerting. Not even the powerful seer of the gypsies had given off so much energy. Her hands tingled slightly under the leather gloves.

"Good day." Elzbeth spoke to the whole room. She then took a spot that gave her a clear view of the door and the as many of the people in the room as possible.
Tessa Green

The first thought to pass through her mind was, "I'm late." Her eyes sprung open. The ceiling above her was steel, cold. She breathed in softly through her nose not daring to move at first as she tried to think about how she got where she was. Fear slid its way through her limbs and her mind worked into overdrive. Where am I? The girl dug back trying to remember the last thing she had done.

Nothing.

There was absolutely nothing. She could not place where she was, where she had been. Her heart beat a bit faster. She was obviously laying on a bed, it was soft, and covered in warm blankets. She lay on top of the blankets, fully dressed. She wore a thin wind breaker over a thicker cable knit sweater. She wore jeans, and a pair of black tennis, the no slip kind baristas use. Unsure of how she knew that the girl sat up. Dark hair swung into view. Most of her hair was tucked back and under a cap that matched her sweater. Other than that she had no adornments. No jewelry, though that felt weird, as if she should be wearing a necklace.

The girl glanced around the room. It was bare, minus the bed she had been sitting on, and a simple coffee table next to a large overstuffed chair. On the coffee table was a school composition book with a blue Bic pen on top of it. At the foot of the bed was a stuffed bear. It was threadbare, and ancient. Probably one of the first bears every made. There was a red ribbon tied around its neck. The ribbon was brand new. Sewed into the ribbon was a name: Tessa Green. She took a deep breath, catching the dusty smell of the bear. I'm Tessa Green.

Tessa, because there was no doubt in her mind that that was her name, stood up. Next the bear had been a small hard case. She unzipped it curious as to what it held. She almost dropped it when she saw the needle, and the vial. Her heart pounded with fear, more than she had when she had realized how lost she was. This vial was important. Very important. Tessa wasn't sure how so, but she knew that it being here was...off. Not that this whole situation wasn't off. Actually very much so off. Everything was wrong.

Tessa picked the bear back up, after closing the case and replacing it at the foot of the bed. Her fingers ran along the seam on the back, it had recently been re-sewn. Unlike the rest of the thread on the bear it was still white instead of yellow. Tessa pulled at the string slightly, curious, too curious. Tessa was a curious person - Curiosity killed the cat. The thought made her pause, but the thread was already mostly undone. She could see something off white in the stuffing. Tessa pulled at the stuffing a bit until the odd white thing was more visible. She dropped the bear as she realized what the item was. Her heart was in her throat. "Oh my God that's a rib." She choked on the words, as vomit tried to escape.

"Let me out of here!" Tessa yelled at the room. She was on her feet and pressing against the walls. Panic fully set into her now. Her eyes burned with tears threatening to fall, but not actually falling. It took her a while to calm down. She sat down in the chair, as far away from the bear as she could get. Her throat still burned from the bile. Tessa wrapped the wind breaker around her. As she did she realized that there was something in the pocket. Out of her left jacket pocket Tessa found a cloth bag with a complete set of dice. She wasn't sure how she knew it was a complete set. The writing on the dice, other than the numbers, was gibberish. She replaced the dice back into the bag. She knew what each of the dice was called, without counting the sides. There was the d20, the two d10s that were used for percentage checks, a d4, two d6, a d8 and the nearly useless d12.

Wondering if she had more stuff in her pockets Tessa emptied them. In her left jean pocket she found a card, bent and slightly blue from the color transfer of her pants. The card was an Ace of Spades, that caused Tessa to think The card of death. The shape of the spade was made from a raven with its wings up. There was a small diamond cut out of the card. Tessa couldn't think as to why that would be there.

In her front right jean pocket was a mostly empty packet of matches. The packet was dark blue except for a yellow stamp, of whatever manufacture made it, or place sold it. Tessa had no idea what it meant other than a thought that pineapples were a symbol of hospitality in some cultures.

In her other jacket pocket was an old photo. It was of a girl, maybe 8, sitting on someone's lap. The adult's face was burned away.

Before Tessa could contemplate the photo any further the sound of gears caught her attention. The room had no windows or doors, but now there was a hole in the wall. A few people were moving down the hallway immediately outside her room. She joined them curious about what was going on. The people stopped in front of a huge window looking out and down, or maybe it was really up, at a planet. Tessa's eyes widened, she was in space. How had she gotten there? Or was this fake? Was this really a window? Had she been taken by aliens? Or was something else going on here?

Everyone around her was mumbling surprised, and fearful, just like her. No one knew what was going on.
Kyle laughed. It was a real one, quite but true. "Thank you." Hagrid helped the kids onto the boats. Kyle looked unsure of himself at first, but once he was seated he seemed more comfortable. There was a cold breeze over the lake, and he was thankful for the robe.

"I don't think you'd look bad with yellow though. It'd look awful on me that's for sure." Two other students climbed into their boat. One girl with long brown hair in a braid and her friend, a red haired girl with freckles covering any visible flesh.

"Hi I'm Charlotte and this is my friend Mireille." The red haired excitedly introduced them.

"I'm Kyle, and this is my friend Siobhan." He felt a swelling of pride in his chest when he called her his friend. His first real friend. Technically they had been forced into the same room, but they got along swimmingly without the help of parents or siblings. He had made a friend outside the family circle. And she raised dragons, which Kyle had to admit to himself was really cool, even if it was dangerous.

Their teeth chattered, and the boats started across the lake. Kyle grinned at Siobhan nervousness and excitement etched in his face.
Yes it is. I'll be putting up the first IC post

As a reminder when everyone posts please put your character's name at the top of the post for ease of reading. If you want to have fun with design feel free, I am lazy and just put it in bold. Thank you! :)
Because of the site crash things are taking a bit longer to get started.
We are sorry for the delay.
Kyle knew that if said no, he'd regret it. "Even if you end up in Hufflepuff." The words left Kyle's mouth as the brakes to the train screeched. The sorting was closer and closer. His heart pounded. "As long as you promise to be my friend even if I get sorted into Hufflepuff." He'd need a friend. His sister would either try to kill him or completely ignore his existence.

The door to the carriage opened. Kyle waited for Siobhan to step out into the hall to join the throng of students leaving the train. He followed close behind his new friend. When they stood outside the train on the platform they heard a loud voice boom "First years this way." A large man holding a lantern waved the kids over toward him.

"Watch out for the giant squid, he likes to eat first years as the cross the lake." The all too familiar voice of Maggie spoke from behind Kyle. He tensed at the first sound of it.

"Yeah right." He tried to unimpressed with his sister's lie, but there was enough truth in it that he wasn't sure she was lying. He gave Siobhan a nervous smile.
You weren't alone. The whole site was down.
I hope neither of our random filler characters interfere with your idea.

"I"m always up for a race!" Tessa took to the air. Her stomach flipping with the first rush of adrenaline. If Tessa had had a chance she would have been a mountain climber, or a tight rope walker. She loved the rush of adrenaline as it hit her system. Beth held the Quaffle, and the tightening in Tessa's gut lessened. She grinned at her teammates. "One end of the field and back." She pointed to the farther post and then back to the closer post. "Keep tossing the Quaffle back and forth." This was more than just a test of speed, which Tessa knew Beth could easily beat her at, it was a test of coordination and cooperation. "Whichever of us has the Quaffle makes a shot." She nodded to their Keeper who had taken their accustomed place at the goal.

Tessa lined up with Beth at the goal post. "Jasper! You call go!" Jasper waited for the girls to be ready, Beth still holding the Quaffle.

"Ready! Set! Go!" Tessa raced forward, keeping in line with Beth waiting for the Quaffle to be tossed to her.

"Are you done?" Tessa nodded to Beth's question.

"Sounds like a plan." Tessa returned Beth's bright smile, stood and walked with Beth down to the pitch talking about their chances in the next match. "I think we'll have a reasonable chance, as long as we make sure we are at least two goals ahead, and we actually catch the snitch this time. Unlike last year." Tessa took her broom out of her locker and hung her bag on the hook within the locker. Her eyes were lit up with the joy that showed up when Tessa talked about something that made her weirdly excited, or of course, when she got on a broom.

"Want to run through some simple moves since it is just us? Or laps? Without a Keeper... We can switch off who is playing keeper maybe?" Tessa listed off the potential things the pair of them could do before Hagrid's class started. "Oh! We could race to see who plays Keeper first." Tessa's grin grew at the prospect. She was bouncing slightly on her feet.
