Elzbeth watched the exchange between the necromancer and Lady Ophelia. The necromancer reminded her of yet another traveling companion she had for a short period. The strange girl. Had the girl been a necromancer? Elzbeth wouldn't have placed money on it, but there was something familiar of the magic this man exuded.

Elzbeth nodded when her name was mentioned. She kept her thoughts to herself though. She had been about half right with the gathered group. Only wrong about the blind druid, and the air mage. He had seemed...different. Elzbeth wasn't quite sure how though. She rested her eyes on the seeress the longest. Elzbeth had only met one before, and it had been nearly ten years since she had seen those people. This woman was nothing like those she had traveled with for years.

Lady Ophelia only mentioned her work with Poi, not who she had previously traveled with, or the misdeeds that those groups had gotten into. Elzbeth found that comforting. She was not here to be put on trial. She glanced at the map again. That was why they were all gathered here. Such a strange assortment of people. All with their strengths, weaknesses, and more importantly contacts and knowledge sources.

She held her tongue though and waited. Waited for an explanation, waited for someone else to take the first step. For now Elzbeth evaluated the situation.
Kyle gave the girls a solemn nod, then faced front again. He had a smirk on his face. School would be fantastic with Siobhan as a friend, his friend.

Professor McGonagall spoke about the sorting and he could hear the girls behind him harrumph when she explained that they'd be placing a hat on their head. Kyle kept his face in check and followed Professor McGonagall into the Great Hall. And Great it was.

He had heard and read about the enchanted ceiling, but that didn't give it the credit that was due to it. His eyes widened at the stars above. It was a moonless night, so the stars were brilliant.

The four tables were set up and he could see the sea of colors indicating what each table was. Soon he and Siobhan would be sitting at the green table. His heart pounded. What if one of them didn't get into Slytherin? It didn't matter for their friendship, but she'd disappoint her brother, and he would be disappointing his whole family.

The old dirty hat on the stool that Professor McGonagall brought in split at the brim and started singing a song:

In times of old, when I was new,
And Hogwarts barely started,
The founders of our noble school
Thought never to be parted.

United by a common goal,
They had the selfsame yearning
To make the world's best magic school
And pass along their learning.

"Together we will build and teach"
The four good friends decided.
And never did they dream that they
Might some day be divided.

For were there such friends anywhere
As Slytherin and Gryffindor?
Unless it was the second pair
Of Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw,

So how could it have gone so wrong?
How could such friendships fail?
Why, I was there, so I can tell
The whole sad, sorry tale.

Said Slytherin, "We'll teach just those
Whose ancestry's purest."
Said Ravenclaw, "We'll teach those whose
Intelligence is surest."

Said Gryffindor, "We'll teach all those
With brave deeds to their name."
Said Hufflepuff, "I'll teach the lot
And treat them just the same."

These differences caused little strife
When first they came to light.
For each of the four founders had
A house in which they might

Take only those they wanted, so,
For instance, Slytherin
Took only pure-blood wizards
Of great cunning just like him.

And only those of sharpest mind
Were taught by Ravenclaw
While the bravest and the boldest
Went to daring Gryffindor.

Good Hufflepuff, she took the rest
and taught them all she knew,
Thus, the houses and their founders
Maintained friendships firm and true.

So Hogwarts worked in harmony
for several happy years,
but then discord crept among us
feeding on our faults and fears.

The Houses that, like pillars four
had once held up our school
now turned upon each other and
divided, sought to rule.

And for a while it seemed the school
must meet an early end.
what with dueling and with fighting
and the clash of friend on friend.

And at last there came a morning
when old Slytherin departed
and though the fighting then died out
he left us quite downhearted.

And never since the founders four
were whittled down to three
have the Houses been united
as they once were meant to be.

And now the Sorting Hat is here
and you all know the score:
I sort you into Houses
because that is what I'm for.

But this year I'll go further,
listen closely to my song:
though condemned I am to split you
still I worry that it's wrong,

Though I must fulfill my duty
and must quarter every year
still I wonder whether sorting
may not bring the end I fear.

Oh, know the perils, read the signs,
the warning history shows,
for our Hogwarts is in danger
from external, deadly foes

And we must unite inside her
or we'll crumble from within
I have told you, I have warned you...
let the Sorting now begin.

Kyle looked at Siobhan surprised. What did the hat mean? Yes he knew there were enemies beset against the school, but the hat said it didn't agree with the sorting. Before he could voice any of this to Siobhan the sorting began.

"When you've been sorted please join your table." Professor McGonagall said and then unfurled a scroll and started reading names from it. The red haired girl, Charlotte, was the first of their boat to be called forward. She sat on the stool and Professor McGonagall put the hat on top of her head. There was silence for a moment, then the hat called out "Hufflepuff!"
You do know the chocolate frog cards still exist. So technically there already is a trading card game available in universe.

Kyle gasped as Hogwarts came into view. Siobhan was right Hogwarts was huge. Kyle took Siobhan's hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. This would be exciting. "Merlin's beard." He said just loud enough for everyone in his boat to hear. "That's our school." He was used to more modern homes. His mother being very current with housing trends.

The other girls in the boat gasped as well. They could hear murmurs of people chatting, but everything was so quite otherwise. The boats crossed the water without event. Of course the Giant squid was no problem. When the boats docked Hagrid helped everyone get out of their boats and led them into a room just inside the castle.

Kyle was still cold from the chill of the lake, but his teeth soon stopped chattering. Mireille behind him was muttering under her breath to Charlotte who seemed to be reassuring her friend, that they really didn't have to fight a troll or take a test.
Tessa Goffe

"I don't mind at all." Tessa told Beth as she fixed her own uniform. The cool air had finished waking her up, and now she was alert. Tessa didn't notice that her hair was a total mess though. "Ryan is in your year right?" Tessa knew he wasn't in her year, but she wasn't sure if he was a sixth or seventh year.

She followed Beth out to meet with Ryan. "Off to see the wizard." She joked, not thinking he wouldn't get it. She knew Beth had been raised a muggle, and so knew the sometimes obscure references Tessa made. Tessa had watched the movie sometime when she was little. A friend her mother had made through her church had had a daughter Tessa's age. The two had hit it off well enough. Though Tessa seemed to remember that that sleep over was the last time she had seen that friend. She tried to remember the girl's name for a bit as they walked, but couldn't seem to find it.

Then Hagrid's hut came into view, pulling her thoughts from the past. Tessa was excited about this special class. She was curious as to what it was that Hagrid had. She had heard rumors that he had at one point or another some of the most dangerous creatures as a friend.
I like post apocalyptic.
I also think something urban.
Or maybe a "crime drama" of sorts.

Honestly this set up could work really well with just about anything. Makes me think of the episode of Supernatural where Gabriel puts Sam and Dean in a bunch of tv shows.
Astrid and Terra

Astrid for a few minutes was quite as the train started moving. The twins had been on the tube, but never a train like this. It was exciting. She watched as the scenery outside the window changed quickly.

"Admit it, it's cool." Astrid bumped her sister lightly. Terra already had an irritated look on face because the bumpy nature of the train made it impossible to sketch. She closed the books and looked out the window.

"I never said it wouldn't be." She gave her sister a smile. The pair of them looked at each other for a moment and then Terra spoke again. The language she spoke in wasn't English and her voice carried no emotion.

Astrid seemed to understand though and simply gave her twin a one word reply. Terra ignored her abandoned books and looked at the two boys sitting across from them. "A new adventure awaits us." She said her voice full of the excitement Astrid was exuding.
Tessa Goffe

Tessa shrugged caught the ball and tossed it at one of the goals. She was only half trying so their keeper easily stopped the ball. He tossed it back at Tessa, who took four more shots before finally getting one passed their keeper.

She flew down to Beth and the boy she recognized from the library. His name was Ryan. And right she was because he introduced himself the .

"I'm going to Hagrid's class..."

Oh no they might be late. "We better hurry. Don't want to be late." Tessa flew to the ground where Jasper and the Kepper were already heading to the locker room. There was a thought in Tessa's mind, she had a feeling that Ryan didn't smile often, and he had been smiling at Beth. A pang of nervousness based on the part of Tessa that didn't trust easily spread through Tessa. She decided though as she pulled her bag out of her locker that it was up to Beth.
Tessa Goffe

"Speed isn't everything!" Tessa called after Beth as her teammate raced ahead of Tessa. There was no way Tessa could keep up with Beth, but that wasn't what she had been trying for. "Beth think fast!" Tessa cried and then tossed the Quaffle to Beth one last time, giving her the shot. The toss perfectly arched toward Beth, but Jasper caught it diving from above. Tessa said quite loudly, "Rude." Her indignation was buried under her laughter though. "Maybe you should be the Chaser Jasper." She said as she gathered her wits back.

Jasper tossed the Quaffle to Beth, "Now where's the fun in that though?" The Huffelpuff team's Keeper was ready for Beth. "Beside if that had been in game it could have easily been a Slytherin Chaser come to steal the Quaffle from us."
Elzbeth

Elzbeth had been in the capital city for a few days. She had purposefully made her way there sooner. Elzbeth had wanted to understand the atmosphere in the city before entering the castle. Now she had watched a handful of other obviously powerful people all showing the guards the same rune she had. They had been summoned for the same meeting Elzbeth assumed. She tucked her lighter carefully under her left hand sleeve. People shook hands with their right for a reason. If need be the lighter was easily accessible. She hoped she wouldn't have to light anything on fire inside the castle.

With a sigh of trepidation Elzbeth walked up to the guards. She wore her travel clothes instead of her stage clothes. The difference was in the amount of material covering her body. It was best to keep clothes to a minim on the stage. Added to the realism of the danger. Fire was indeed very dangerous to most people. To Elzbeth it hadn't been dangerous in many years.

"State your business." The guard gruffly spoke to Elzbeth.

"I've been summoned." She held up the rune for the guard to see. He seemed unimpressed at this point. Enough people had proceeded Elzebth that her rune was of little note. She didn't care, she just wished to answer the summons. Hopefully it wasn't for traveling with Glair and that strange girl. Elzbeth was fairly certain Glair's sketch had been on the walls calling for his arrest. Dumb man had been caught again at his thievery.

The guard led Elzbeth into the throne room. It was currently being used as a war room. The map caught her attention first, what was that one gentleman's name, he had been quite fond of maps. That had been a short arrangement. Elzbeth's eyes drifted over each individual in the room. The King, his wife (more powerful in Elzbeth's opinion), the guard (high ranking obviously), the strong wizard Ophelia, then the other summoned. She tried to figure out what each of them were. When she had made a short assessment of each present she bowed slightly toward the King and Queen. She was not native to their county, but she'd give them their due respect.

The tingle of so much magic in one room was disconcerting. Not even the powerful seer of the gypsies had given off so much energy. Her hands tingled slightly under the leather gloves.

"Good day." Elzbeth spoke to the whole room. She then took a spot that gave her a clear view of the door and the as many of the people in the room as possible.
