I do as well. I don't want to step on Thea's toes, so I hope she get's on, but I will run this as best I can if she's truly not coming back to it. Honestly I hope she does and just makes me co-gm so if she's not on I have some power.
Ash Mareinos Ash didn't spend much more time on the roof. She went back to her own dorm where her dorm mate was reading. "Have a good day?" She asked without looking up. "Didn't get into trouble." Ash responded. She fell asleep staring at the ceiling thinking of the lake and swimming.
I'll poke McH to get the next post up with Jamie and close out their story for the day.
"Or maybe as examples of manners." One of the girls standing next to Beatrice said. The headmaster for Durmstrang marched up between the two schools and spoke loudly. "I believe that introductions could be done better in of doors." His voice was steady and commanding. The Durmstrang students still in their near perfect line waited for permission to enter the school. Beatrice glanced over the students assembled. Focused more, for now, on the Hogwarts students. They were the ones that had already been culled for the possibility of the tournament. Beatrice couldn't guess from the Beauxbatons who may be a potential champion. Hogwarts had brought more males than females. Durmstrangs students were about 80% male, but it seemed the British had sent almost a full 100% males. She looked over the two females, those that she considered a threat first over the males. Females were brutal. She had seen more fighting amongst females that went to dirty tricks than anything males did. Men were easy to manipulate. Beatrice leaned over to her friend. "Ich denke, diese ganze Tortur war eine schlechte Idee."1 Her friend smiled and nodded back. "Ich erwarte, dass sie denken, dass dies die Spannungen zu verringern."2 Beatrice laughed. The three female friends followed their headmaster inside. 1: I think this whole ordeal was a bad idea 2: I expect they think this will lessen tensions.
Ash -Roof of a dorm Ash did indeed give Jamie his desired grin, and added a laugh. "I can't believe you actually bribed a teacher." At Jamie's mention of the lake Ash gave a slight wistful look. "It's painful I assure you." She sighed. "Maybe we can get out there this weekend. I might be able to convince Mrs. Reese to take us if I say it's for endurance training. Maybe invite the new girl on the team and teach her the breathing technique, if I can." A part of Ash wanted to leave right then for the lake. A night swim would be amazing. She gave Jamie her devious plotting something grin. "Or, we can, after the main ceremonies at the bonfire slip out over there and go for a nice night swim." They both knew they'd be missed during the main part of the bonfire, but if they got out there after the first bit maybe, with a bit of luck, no one would notice their absence.
Ash Mareinos - The roof of one of the dorms "I'm gonna take a stab at the dark and say you nearly got in trouble, but somehow talked your way out of it. I'm going to guess you got caught smoking." Ash grinned. It wasn't hard to guess that. She knew enough about Jamie to know he smoked, and that when he got stressed he tended to take bigger risks. With the game tomorrow he was stressed. She was glad swimming didn't get her stressed, it did the opposite. Ash hopped up so she was sitting on one of the protruding parts of the building, she let her feet dangle over the edge of it and waited for Jamie to tell his story. She liked listening to his stories, they were always funny and he somehow always avoided getting busted. After he finished his story she told him what happened during her practice, well about the new girl, practice itself was boring to talk about.
BEATRICE FALK
Age: 17
Gender: Female
NATIONALITY: Swiss
APPEARANCE:

PERSONALITY:
Pragmatic - When her curiosity is not getting in the way Beatrice approaches everything sensibly. This mixes well with her charisma as she learned how best to get her way.
Charismatic - Beatrice is extremely charismatic, which has saved her from detentions a fare amount. She can see people’s weakness and uses them against them, in a very roundabout way. Many times people walk away from talking with Beatrice thinking she was the sweetest girl, not having realized she had weaseled her way out of them.
Clever - All of that culminates in her cleverness. She wouldn’t have a high IQ if tested, but if in an odd situation she’d find an obscure way out of it.
Experimental - Beatrice let’s her mind wander too much. She thinks too much about things that aren’t connected, but somehow she makes it work in her head. This leads to her trying new things, and new spells that are quite clearly not how it should work. About 80% of those backfire in someway.
Private - If you asked anyone they’d say they like Beatrice, and they’d talk about her, but they wouldn’t be able to really talk about her thoughts, feelings, or past (unless they were there). She has a small clique, and is the Beta of the group, lacking the drive to be the Alpha.
Curious - Beatrice can’t help but question. Sometimes (more often than not) that is not appropriate for a girl in her time. She uses her Charisma to make it work, and for the most part has only a few people she’s pissed off. One of those being the headmaster, another her Potions Master.

Bio: Beatrice, as she only allows to be called, is the only girl-child of her parents. Both purebloods and both alumni of Durmstrang. She has an older brother and two younger brothers. The older brother has joined Grindelwald and promised his younger sister as future ally. Beatrice does not agree with Grindelwald. She has, from a young age, agreed that the magical and muggle communities should be separate.

The reason for that belief is something she has never told anyone. Including her Mother, before she passed away. When Beatrice was six years old she got lost on a hiking trail. She met up with some muggles and asked for help. At first the group seemed to be willing to help the young girl, but as things got more and more desperate looking Beatrice became panicked and sparks literally flew.

The group of muggles were decidedly freaked out and one of them pushed Beatrice. She was found hours later by her older brother. Her wounds were healed, but she never spoke of the incident except as “that day I fell”. Her brother sensed something more had happened, but never questioned Beatrice.

Beatrice’s mother passed away while she was at school during her second year. The loss was devastating to her and at first she refused to return to Durmstrang. Her father convinced her by telling her where to look for their names carved together. When Beatrice returned to school she found the names and would return to that spot whenever she needed to ‘speak’ with her mother.

It can be said that Beatrice’s greatest flaw is her curiosity. While it may be useful at times for school work she has been considered a bit nosey at times, and at worst a danger to herself. Because of her curiosity she has tested spells that are dangerous, and found some of the secret paths within the small castle of Durmstrang that no student should wander into. Lucky for Beatrice she is charismatic enough that her prying has never come off as anything but friendly. Her clever mind has kept her safe from the other dangerous things she has encountered. It is likely if she had gone to Hogwarts she may have been sorted into Ravenclaw.

Both of Beatrice’s younger brothers have come to potentially participate in the TriWizard tournament. Beatrice is not pleased about that.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Strengths
In a way Beatrice is lucky. Usually that luck is good. Despite her overwhelming sense of curiosity, Beatrice has only gotten into a couple bad scrapes, and never any she couldn’t figure a way out on her own.

Beatrice is exceptional at charms (her wand is willow, and flexible).

One of the things taught very sternly at Durmstrang is Silent casting and Beatrice has shown to be brilliant at it.

Durmstrang teaches Dark Arts with a fever not seen at other schools, and Beatrice has found that while she has no liking for the skill, is able to cast efficiently enough for good marks.

Weakness
Her weakness are the need to answer questions, even when the answer is something very dangerous.

She likes making new spells (which is a very dangerous thing to do)

And the inability to stay attentive enough for a potion. She has not made a proper potion over the equivalent of OWL level, and wished she could drop out of the class but it is mandatory at Durmstrang.

WAND: Willow, 10 3/4 inches, Flexible (on the wispy side), unicorn hair (Gregorovitch wand)

2nd of December, 1999 Luther Cunningham, Kyle McCarthy, Jia Shang, Albert Aldenberg, and David Howell – The Safehouse
Kyle, once Luther in his frozen state was tied to a chair, had his wand removed and then unfrozen, stared at the man with a bit of confusion and a lot of anger. “You better hope they don’t find out you had anything to do with that guy showing up during our little tea time.” Kyle tapped his foot a bit and then asked. “First of all why are you trying to defect?” Luther looked him in the eyes, sighing. “I had nothing to do with the Death Eater. As Siobhan saw, I was as surprised as you were, if not more so.” He looked away, before continuing. “As for why I want to help you? Well… it’s a long story. If you’ll bear with me, I will tell it to you.” “I am a Half-blood. My father was a Muggle, and frankly he was an ass. Once my mum told him about being a witch, he lost it. He started blaming us for everything. Customer didn’t pay on time? That cursed magic caused it. His car broke down? Someone blew it up. You get the idea.” Luther looked back into Kyle’s eyes. “He had another child, a girl. Her name is Lilly. As it so happened, she turned out to be a witch as well. You can imagine his reaction, so we took her to live with us. She is a Mudblood, of course.” Luther sighed again, and went on to tell Kyle the abridged tale of Lilly McKinley. Kyle didn’t quite understand sibling love. It was something he had never personally experienced. However Siobhan knew it quite well. He had seen her family and the love that had been within it. He gave a small nod. “Okay, that’s a great story, we’ll have to look into it. Do you have anything else you want to say to back you up?” Kyle gave Luther an opening, for anything that he may know that may give the group a bit more reason to trust the turncoat. “As it happens, I do. You may not know of her, but the Death Eaters – actually, to my knowledge she is your sister – is holding a woman prisoner, in your family’s manor. Her name is Mia Dubois.” He turned to Jia, who had been silent the entire time, watching. “She told me to tell you this,” he addressed her, then repeated the string of numbers Mia had told him. He could make nothing out of it, but hopefully Jia would. Jia looked at Luther. “That’s my phone number,” she answered, a hint of surprise in her voice. Turning to Kyle, she added, “He has to be telling the truth. Only a Muggleborn would know my phone number, and Dubois is definitely that. Still, what if it was tortured out of her? Dubois isn’t exactly what I would call… tough.” “It’s a phone number,” David said, breaking his own silence, “Half of you don’t know what it is, and you don’t actually hate Muggles. The Death Eaters wouldn’t even know what to ask for.” Kyle’s frown had deepened quite a bit after his family was mentioned. He resisted his normal, “I don’t have family response” And considered changing his name again. “Maggie would be quite capable of getting the information from Mia. I vaguely remember her. Never was very in the thick of things, didn’t seem to approve of fighting.” He sighed and wondered how someone so soft could end up in Maggie’s hands. “Maggie wouldn’t know what a phone number was unless Alistair told her though. He’s the only I think would have or could have. But from what I remember of him at school he probably wouldn’t know either.” Kyle took a few steps to one side and then back. “If Maggie has anyone they aren’t going to do well.” His mind was already thinking of the possibilities. “How long has Mia been there?” Luther pondered over the question for a moment before answering. “Two or three days, I believe. I didn’t ask. But they haven’t gotten anything out of her, I can assure you. She’s been pretending she doesn’t know English, and the only thing they knew about her is that she is a Metamorphmagus.” He paused, to scratch his nose. Then he remembered he was tied to the chair. “That’s the only reason I was able to talk to her – neither of them understood a word of French, and they needed someone who could interrogate her. Instead, I told her exactly what I’ve told you, and fed Maggie some ‘facts’ – I’d be making air quotes right now, if I wasn’t tied up – which should be enough to keep Mia safe for now. From what I’ve told her, Maggie has concluded that she is worth keeping, albeit not so important as to trouble her superiors for now.” He looked Kyle in the eyes, more seriously.“Knowing your sister, however, I suspect she’ll try to start ‘interrogating’ her for more information – again, air quotes – sooner rather than later.” Kyle shot Luther a dirty look for calling Maggie his sister again. “I have no family.” He said, his voice harsh. “Look, I understand that you’d love nothing more than to distance yourself from her. I would want to as well.” Luther quickly fired back. “But if you plan on rescuing Mia you’ll need someone who knows the place, and that someone is you, I suspect. So perhaps you could at least pretend to know the place inside out, and the people who live there, at least for a little while? There is no use running as far as you can from your past, instead of simply accepting it,” he finished, unable to keep a bit of agitation out of his voice. Who’d have thought that a Death Eater would end up lecturing one of the Ashes? he thought. Luther had barely stopped talking when Kyle punched him. He marched out of the room after that leaving Luther tied to the chair. Kyle needed to find Siobhan. He needed some fresh air.
Amy Snow Amy, after meeting with the Latin teacher, decided that it was quite time she headed back to her dorm. She was tired. More tired than she was used to being. She walked back to Elliot hall a bit slower than she would have normally. At her door she flicked her ID and unlocked it with practiced ease and then collapsed onto her bed almost as the door shut behind her. She lay there for a bit not bothering to even take off her shoes trying to figure out what had actually happened that day. Sunday she was meeting up with a guy, James from the football team, to help him with an essay. Amy had no idea how that had come about. Then after James had left the new kid Nero had decided to talk to her and claimed that she was beautiful, that was just silly. Everyone had always called her plain. She had been passed up dozens of times for adoption, because she was so plain. That's what they said. How had two attractive guys decide to talk to her in one day? Ash The rest of practice went by quickly. Ash asked Aery if she would like to hang out sometime, and once she got her response Ash waved goodbye. Instead of going back to her room Ash made her way to the top of the dorm hall again. She expected Jamie would show up smelling of grass and cigarets. He'd have some interesting joke or story and then before lights out they'd sneak back to their own rooms. Last year, before everything changed, they used to sneak to the lake on Friday nights. They hadn't for ages though, and Ash missed the murky waters of the lake. At least at home she had had her own family's lake to distract her, but here the chlorinated pool just wasn't enough.
