@esterdi
Then them having at least a general friendship is likely. Mary doesn't judge people unless they are jerks to her or Emma. She doesn't handle bullying well tbh.
@Esterdi
That's because she's been edited quite a bit from the original. She is still mixed-blood, so depending on racism (which I don't care how much JK says has been eradicated there will still be some.)
Name: Mary Winthrop

Appearance:

Age: 16

Year: 6th

House: Ravenclaw

Classes taken:
NEWTs Levels
Charms
Transfiguration
DADA
Runes
Potions

Short bio: Mary was born to a backwaters hick of a mother who believed God had punished her with Mary. Mary's father was unknown to Mary, and the source of Mary's abilities seen as the worst possibility of a deal between Satan and God. Mary's mother believed she was suffering as Job had, and to free herself of the curse she must cleanse Mary. The woman's definition of cleanse grew worse as Mary's abilities grew. These abilities were never quite under control though.

Somehow word got to Mary's father, Andrew Winthrop, about her situation. How word got to him was never something he told Mary, but late in the night he took the small 8 year old from her home and freed her. It took Mary sometime before she realized she had side-along apparated.

The next few years Mary and her father learned from each other. Mary on how to trust people again, Andrew on how the simplest thing can bring joy. Mary was grossly undereducated so Andrew lost no time in catching the girl up in general education. When the letter for Hogwarts came he beamed.

Personality: Mary is a quite girl, though very curious. One would not expect her to know the things that she knows. Unless they saw her library research history. She is not quick to trust people. It is very unlikely that anyone knows her full history. She does not talk about her mother. Due to her undereducated early in her life Mary feels like she is always trying to catch up. Her wit can be particularly scathing at times.

Wand: 8 9/10 in, stiff, Fir, Unicorn hair

Patronus: Dove

Hobbies: Reading. She never got into quidditch really. Ice skating (She loves winter near the lake and always checks to make sure the ice is thick enough and has been known to spell it to be safer). A small love for movies.

Pets: A grey cat named Perry. Perry walks funny as when he was only a few months old he fell from a stair case and broke his back, even with magical help it did not heal properly.

Personal possessions: Standard things for school at Hogwarts, and a few extra books, some muggle, most adventure novels.

Relationships: TBA

NPCs: Emma Tate, A muggle born Ravencalw same year as Mary. Emma started their friendship in their first year by discussing horror movies.

Kim Judd

Kim had been the first to arrive, and then uncomfortably so two men arrived. The second man to arrive, was slightly disheveled looking, a bit worse for wear, and enough that the flight itself wouldn't explain it. Unless he had come from considerably further than she had, but at a certain point, wouldn't the plan just fly the other way around the world? Say Japan to Europe would most likely cross over Asia and Russia rather than go around and cross the states. So maybe, just maybe someone from Hawaii would have a longer flight than she had had, but that was the only case that made sense.

When finally a woman arrived Kim relaxed a little. The woman sat relatively close to Kim, closer than either of the guys who were still by the refreshment area, but in this room not close enough for a private conversation. Kim debated starting one anyway. Just a few words of greeting, a pleasure to see another lady, something like that. It'd be good for both of them wouldn't it? Instead she finished her drink, and without refilling it stared at the empty cup.

Kim had no idea as to what to say to any of them. They all were off to somewhere fantastical right? What could you talk about other than the nervous anticipation, or the mystery... Or maybe why them? No words formed though. Not until a fifth person entered. Another female, the men were outnumbered now. The vague nervousness that accompanies being in a group with too many men in it dispersed. Now all that was left was the excitement of the trip, and the shy uncertainty of new people.

The new woman spoke, "I guess you all got the invitation, too, yeah?" Kim smiled up at her.

"I did. Weirdest invitation ever." A flash of an old movie played in Kim's mind, she ignored it, pulled the un-pulled party popper out from her wind breaker's pocket and held it up. She hoped that it would be enough. Surly they all had had the extra weird experience, or maybe that was just her. If it was why the difference?
I think west btw. Kirah. Prolly west. But nowhere in particular?

Well if from California Hella and Hecka could be said. If from Oregon or north those things aren't said. Also in the case of SoCal up talk is a thing? (<me being a smart ass. Up talk is where you emphasis the end of a sentence so it sounds like a question but you do it for EVERYTHING)
Victor - Grocery store. Walker, LA - Augusta and Malcolm

Victor nodded to Augusta's suggestion. "Lead the way." He said as he picked up the small campfire stove. It was his most prized possession these days, some dents and scratches, but for the most part perfectly clean. He handed Malcolm the propane container, and juggled some other stuff.

Mandy - Outside the Grocery Store. Walker, LA - June, Cricin, and Annie

June glanced to Mandy asking with just her face Mandy's opinion. Mandy shrugged, she put her right hand up in a fist near her forehead and flicked her forefinger up while shaking her head. Then put both hands together laterally, sliding her right one over the left. After she finished that sign she lifted her right hand to her chin and slid it down it in a fist hand shape.
What year is this taking place btw?
Err. My character has an American accent...
...but being from neither the states or the UK, I can't really pinpoint. Just pretend it's an average one. << Not the south, preferably...
Also. So sorry my lovelies ;; and Jig. I can finish it tomorrow right?
...right?

Well the East coast sounds different than the west. So pick a coast and you've got an accent.
Victor and Mandy - Grocery Store. Walker, LA - June & Co

Mandy watched the conversation, glanced around the room and realized that June's brothers weren't here. She frowned, but didn't ask. There'd be time for those questions to be answered later. "Where are we going to go after this though?" Mandy hadn't given it much thought to her plans after she found June. There wasn't anyone left... Except maybe her dad. "June, do you know if my dad-" Her voice cracked and she stopped talking. It had been something she hadn't wanted to think about.

Victor stood up. "I have enough for this meal, we'll be good." He turned to Mandy, "If you want to take June to find those people, I'll stay here and finish cooking." He spoke clearly enough that Mandy could easily understand him. Mandy looked to June and with R hand shape crossed her arms and then uncrossed them with her eyebrows lifted.
I think it might be a good idea for those who are in 6th year or higher if any 7th year to list what classes they are taking because all the older students are in classes together.
