As Rose settled her bag on her back the hairs on her neck raised. She suddenly wished she had her bow, but she hadn't been planning on coming up here originally. She still had a few hours before she needed to go to the bar. This felt like someone was watching her. The only thing she had handy that could be a weapon was her pocket knife, and that was barely dangerous at least she had some street fighting skills from the bouncer at her bar. She looked at Sierra to see if she looked like she noticed, and then glanced around with a smile trying to look like she didn't notice anything.

Rose caught something in her vision, it looked human, but when she turned to tell Sierra, and then back whoever it had been was gone. "Okay, I'm not normally paranoid, but I am on high alert in the woods cause wild animals. I swear something, or someone was just there." She gestured subtly in the direction she had seen the shape. "Let's go on in, but stay on the trail. And if you see a nice stick that looks like it can be used for walking or thwacking grab it." She advised and then started into the woods, following the trail she had walked hundreds of times.

Colby's mouth was full when Tink left and he was annoyed. She didn't even give them a chance to ask if she would drive them back to the park at least. He choked as he tried to finish the bite of food, but then after a big swig of water Matthew had already asked the girls if they would take them back to his car. He was surprised. Matthew seemed socially incapable at times, but he had had the nerve to ask them for a lift. He raised an eyebrow at him and then turned back to the girls. "Thanks, appreciate it."

He took a deep breath. "So two cats? Fluffy and Arty, what breeds? I really like cats. Guess that shouldn't be a surprise considering who my dad is." He gave a small shrug. It explained a lot about him actually. His fickle nature. His love for tricks and cats. Though if he remembered his stories correctly the cat tended to sit in trees a lot. Something Colby distinctly disliked, which steamed from one of his oldest memories. Colby wondered if the memory was old enough that he had still been in Arcadia even.

Mary giggled under the group hug. She loved her friends and wanted to protect them all. She kept the hug up as long as the others wanted. "That sounds like a great idea Arty. We'll have to blend our house colors." Mary loved her house colors, blue had been one of her favorite colors since she was little. It reminded her both of the sky and the sea, which made her feel free.

"How much longer do you think they are going to be searching?" Mary wanted to get to school. "Also we should change into our new robes as soon as we can." She didn't want to be doing that while the Aurors were searching the cabins. She did hope that Callum having been in here was enough that none of the others would search their cabins.

There was a lot on Mary's mind. Too much if she was honest with herself. She'd have to spend some time parsing through it all. Especially before talking with Apollo alone tonight in the Dorm. But first getting to Hogwarts, getting through sorting and dinner. Setting up a meeting with Flitwick, for a couple of reasons.

She mentally sighed hoping the trolly witch would just forget about the whole incident. Mary wasn't the type to get into trouble. She hated it. Hated getting yelled at. Hated having people even look disappointed in her. It brought up too many bad memories. She shuddered slightly as the image of her mother yelling filled her mind. But following the advice of her father, she thought of things that made her happy. She thought of him and her friends and books.

Matt was thankful that Raynor stood down. He took his own seat as the jet started moving. He wanted to make sure that Sparky and Cass were both alright but they had something much bigger to deal with. They were only two people. The whole world was in danger. One of his parents was in danger. One of them had to be inhuman. If he couldn't focus on trying to save the whole world he'd focus on saving those who mattered to him. It was a lot less to carry.

"What's our plan then? In Cardiff, we need to find this guy and then what? Convince him to go with us? Or is Ryanor just gonna pick him up and carry him off? Then somehow convince him to kill his own father?" Matt wasn't certain if fulfilling the prophecy that Thanos was obsessing over or making it stop was the ideal plan. Though any knowledge of Greek mythology and prophecy meant that it was impossible to avoid the prophecy. Thane had to kill Thanos. There was no avoiding it. The act of trying to avoid it, as Thanos was doing, would make it happen.

Once Sierra was on, and her helmet secured. Rose drove away from the diner. It felt good. The rumble of the bike and the air pressing against her. She had her helmet on so there was no wind in her hair, but she could imagine it. She drove past the park and seeing the cop cars kept going. There wasn't anything there for them anyway anymore. Rose could cut through the traffic and took advantage of the ability. Though since they were on a motorcycle there was no talking.

Arriving at the trailhead Rose parked the bike and killed the engine. She removed her helmet and fixed her head grinning the whole time. She picked up the conversation from there. "I think I went to the orphanage, but only for help with the legality of getting my parents to adopt me. And good point with the powers stuff." There were a lot of options to choose from, and Merlin hadn't been very forthcoming. Not that he had had a lot of time. Rose pulled her backpack out of the saddlebag and locked up the helmets. Nothing had ever been stolen from her bike, but it didn't hurt to be cautious. "Do you remember any of the other kids that were there? They might be from..." She waved her hand "You know where."

Colby looked at Matthew indigently when he stole a piece of pork. He didn't say anything. Instead, he stole a piece of chicken off Matt's plate. He was thankful when Tink said they could take their cats. Though Colby wasn't certain how well his cat would fair in the magic world. He munched on his food and took a swig of water. Matthew was right, this might be his last meal in Kansas. Something about that didn't bother him. He was actually happy about that.

Colby would, of course, call his folks when he went to pack up. He had to say goodbye. Even as much as they had pissed him off over the years they had adopted him. Heck if they hadn't he might be like Matthew...Or maybe he and Matthew would have been friends earlier in life. They would have been at the same place. How odd, life could be so different from one choice.

"Well you know me pretty well already." He said to Matthew. "How about you two? What do you like to do? What's your cat's name?" He got right to the important part, the cat.

Andy

Location: The ship

Andy listened to Alannah's explanation and was thankful, sort of. She had no idea what half the things she listed where, and had reached her limit for asking questions. She wanted to slink away and disappear. Thankfully she was given the option when they were told to pick their rooms. She followed Arthur and picked one near his room.

Upon entering she shut the door and hung her bag off the end of the bed, then pulled off her shoes and climbed up onto the bed. Andy took a deep breath and examined the room from her perch. It wasn't anything special, but she had seen worse rooms in her time as a foster kid. She pulled her legs up so she sat with her arms wrapped around her knees. Andy didn't cry. There weren't many tears left.

She could hear the others talking and opening and closing doors and that was okay. It was comforting. She didn't know everyone on the ship, that wasn't okay. It made her nervous. At least Arthur was near, and her brother. Even if he was talking to one of the new people. Andy hadn't spoken to either of them yet. She was avoiding them if she was honest with herself. Andy knew it wasn't their fault, but maybe, just maybe if they hadn't come Ash would still be alive. How much could one person's death change her?

Mary also stepped back behind the spell, but she couldn't bring herself to sit down. Mary tensed when the Auror entered the cabin but was relieved to see he was a friend of Georgina's. It was unlikely he was a Death Eater. She pushed away a nasty paranoid thought. Something she'd never ever voice to Georgina she decided before it was even fully formed. However, she would later, express it to Apollo in the quiet of their own dorm, having no idea he was having the exact same thoughts as her. Mary bit her lip and kept a sigh of relief inside when Callum left. The next thought she had was just as awful as the first.
1) what if Callum was a death eater and had killed Georgina's dad.
2) What if Callum had let the death eaters go.

Wherever this wild bout of paranoia came from Mary wasn't certain. And in a weird old habit way, she started mentally reciting the Lord's prayer. She hated it, but it helped her calm down.

Mary dashed forward as soon as Callum was gone and hugged Georgina. She didn't know what to say. Mary knew Georgina's father had been killed, and that it had been by a death eater. She also knew that her friend was hurting. Mary wasn't the best at emotional stuff. She had a hard time expressing her own, but she hoped Georgina could use a hug. It seemed like the Hufflepuff way.

Even if the royals were asses at least they got Cass out of there to safety. Matt wasn't certain where they took her, but he hoped they were true to their word. He considered swearing that if something went wrong and Cass died taking it out on them. It was entirely their fault. He followed the group back to the quinjet. He didn't hear what Sparky said but Raynor's reaction gave him a really good idea. Matt didn't blame Raynor either if Oliver was to blame like he was for Matt's own secondary exposure (that he still didn't know what had changed because of). Raynor was a bit of a loose cannon though.

Matt figured it would be best if he was at least near at hand if Raynor didn't let it go. He probably wouldn't be able to best Raynor in a hand-to-hand fight, but Matt could at least keep Oliver from getting hurt. Though the kid had superspeed now. If he was smart he'd just keep out of range of Ryanor. Matt would have put himself between the two, but Maria already had that covered.

If Cass was doing that badly...how were all of the other mutants on Earth doing? What was Sparky's timeline looking like? Would she progress as rapidly? "We don't have time for this. The longer we fight each other the longer until we can help. We need to get this mission taken care of. We can all punch Oliver after."

Matt did spare Oliver a glance to make sure he wasn't going to bleed out or something from the light blast that Ryanor had hit him with.

"A ride and hike sound nice." Rose led the way to her bike laughing at Sierra's comment about Final Destination. "Hey as long as we don't end up behind a logging truck, or on a roller coaster, or on a plane." She started listing all the core deaths from the films. She was a fan of horror films and had spent a weekend binge-watching all the movies once.

"I'd like to think I'm a better driver. And if you do get a premonition let me know so I can get out of the way of it." She paused at the bike. "Do you think we will have powers based on our fairy tale backgrounds? I don't even know who my parents are. I mean I have a vague image of them in my head but I was about seven years old when the Buckners found me. It might not be what they look like." She sighed and then climbed onto the bike slipping her helmet on and offering the spare from the bike's saddlebags. She placed her backpack in the empty space it made.

Colby was thankful for the food arriving it was a nice distraction. He loaded up his plate. But there Layla was joking about him and Matthew dating again. He felt his face get hotter and he took a big bite of food to keep himself from saying something he might regret. The girls seemed nice enough but god could they lay off? He nodded at Cass's question. If he didn't have his mouth full of sweet and sour pork he would have said something like 'yeah a bit creepy if you ask me'. By the time he was done chewing he had thought better of that too.

Cass brought up another point, he had a cat to care for. Probably one of his co-workers from the pet store could take him for a few days. But what if he couldn't come back from Arcadia? "About pets. I have a cat too. I have roommates that can probably feed him, or a friend from work that'll take him, but I would like to keep Jack. So uh, if we go to Arcadia can I bring my cat? He's pretty chill." Colby had never had an issue getting cats to understand what he wanted them to do. Sure they could just decide not to, and that had happened a fair amount of times, but if Colby was super serious about Jack needing to hide or something for his safety Colby was certain Jack would obey.

Now that they were on the tour properly Andy listened closely. She didn't know what port or starboard meant, or really a lot of the terms Alannah was saying which made Andy a little upset. She pushed that away though to ask instead, and it hurt to ask cause if Ash were still alive she'd be asking for her. "Uh, what does port mean?" She raised her hand slightly, but didn't wait for permission. "Also how does this thing even fly?" There was a part of her that wasn't completely ready to accept "magic" as an answer just yet, and that was with a brother who had just been a cat.

During the tour, she did keep close to Arthur and gave him a look when they said there were enough rooms for all of them to have their own. She hadn't slept alone almost since coming to camp and she knew Arthur wouldn't want to either. There was something reassuring about having someone you trusted in the room. It meant safety. It meant if something went wrong you had someone to watch your back. Alone was a terrifying prospect that she, and she was certain Arthur, didn't want to do. If all else she would sneak into his room so neither of them had to be alone, and Demetri could sleep at the foot of the bed again as a cat.

Mary wrapped up the sneak-o-scope trying to mute the noise it was producing and then shoved it back into her bag. Hoping that between the bit of extra clothing and the books no one would hear it. Mary couldn't say she knew the reliability of the sneak-o-scope. She had only just gotten it, but her father had given it to her and she trusted his opinion. "We can do some experiments with it later." She suggested.

Though it did seem Georgia hadn't closed the door to the compartment fast enough. She had been spotted. One of the Auror's was saying her name. At least Apollo had cast Salvio Hexia though and if they needed the group could get behind that barrier. Mary checked to make sure her own wand was loose in case she needed to pull it out quickly. "Thank you Apollo." He was much better at that sort of spell then she was. Her skill was charms and transfiguration, not DADA (even if she was passing it just fine)

She hated the current feeling. It was like the old days. Pretending to be something she wasn't had become second nature, but she had just started to be a bit more relaxed about the truth. Apollo knew the truth, which of course meant Artie knew. And if both of them knew there was no way Georgia didn't know, not that once He-who-must-not-be-named had been defeated Mary had bothered to keep it a secret. Though, she did try to keep it to just the group of friends. You never knew what someone's leanings might be, and being a half-blood wasn't great. But Mary trusted the group to have her back. And trust was hard for her to give. Her mind was racing, thankful for this little group of safety, but terrified of what the future might hold now.
