@Ruler Inc IF it is still open when I'm done with the mayo clinic I may join. I really just would hate to hold anything back or just cause any issues.
What can I say? We cats are sometimes evil.... 🤷‍♀️

Also I've decided I'm going to pass on this. I realized I shouldn't join a new rp when I'm about to head to the mayo clinic for who knows how long. Don't want to make a commitment I can't keep up with and get established in.

Maybe my fault, maybe not

my parents were killed with yarn

yarn would never... at least my yarn. My yarn is innocent. INNOCENT I TELL YOU!
Gonna throw in a yarn ball of interest.... one of my favorite yarn balls mind you... be gentle with it.

Opening her door to her small house, Rowyn slipped in and shut the door behind her. A sigh escaped her lips as she finally got away from the few prying eyes left on the street. She didn’t live in the best part of Seren’s Folley and drunks tended to hang around the area as well as just those who walked the darker paths of life. She had already proven to not be someone to mess with though, a drunk meeting her when she was possessed. It was luck that he survived.
Slipping her shoes off and stripping her bloodied dress off, Rowyn picked the dress up and carried it with her bag over to a table in the corner, barely visible in the faint moonlight coming in the window. Picking up flint and steel, she lit a candle quickly, using the lit candle to light more candles providing light in her small home.

A deep breath escaped her as she felt her body relax. The air was stale but the candles were slowly breathing life into the place as they burned, the flicker of the flame leaving dancing shadows on the creaking walls. Walking to her large basin of water, Rowyn took a bucket off the shelf above the basin and scooped some water from the basin, careful to avoid getting her hands in the water. She took the bucket to another smaller basin and poured some water into it before setting the bucket besides the small table the small basin sat on.

Sitting on the stool before the basin, Rowyn got to work scrubbing her hands with a bar of soap and a rough brush. The water slowly turning pink as the blood slowly washed off her hands. Looking up, Rowyn met eyes with herself, her golden eyes shimmering in the fire light, reflected in a broken shard of a mirror she had scavenged. As the candlelight flickered, a dancing shadow seemed to grow darker.

Rowyn blinked and upon her eyes reopening, a dark form of inky black was behind her. Its eyes just two glowing white eyes. For most, this sudden appearance would have freaked them out. But to Rowyn it was normal. If she were to turn around, there would be nothing but emptiness behind her. The figure was simply a figment of her imagination, a hallucination of a sense.

“So you decided to show yourself?” Rowyn asked, though it was clear the question was rhetorical.

‘I always show myself to just you. You are mine, my lovely.’ The demon said, his voice reverberating through her head as her lifted a strand of her hair in the reflection, no hair moving outside the mirror shard.

“I’m not yours.” Scrubbing at her hand harder, Rowyn practically hissed at him. She hated him calling her ‘my lovely’. She was disgusted by it and him. “Some witch will happily be yours. Or just go find my mother in hell where you should be and she can be yours.”

‘My lovely lovely girl. You have always been mine well before you were born. Don’t fight it. I’ll make your life blissful as we bring hell to earth through your womb.” The figure moved from one side of Rowyn to the other side of her. The voice in her head moving along with it. ‘All human men are inferior to me.’ Anger could be felt from the demon inside Rowyn. His anger pushing at her own emotions. ‘That damn man from earlier was too close to what belongs to me. Your womb is mine and mine only. WHY DIDN’T YOU LET ME KILL HIM!?”

Rowyn finished cleaning her hands and threw the brush into the water, causing it to splash up and onto the mirror as she stood up. The figure behind her dispersing into the shadows as she turned and went to her dresser. “My womb is mine and mine only until I choose to give it to another. I WILL find a way to get rid of you.” She practically threw her drawer open and pulled her huntress gear out, quickly getting dressed, sliding on the jacket last.

The demon laughed in her mind as she went to her main table where her bag was, shelves of herbs and small bottles of premade herbal medicines, plus other items for making said medicines. She was quick to unpack her bag and replace the low supplies with more supplies and added new items, anything she saw fit for treating wendigo wounds. Rowyn had to stop though as the demon’s laugh overwhelmed her.

Placing her hands on the table she leaned back and hung her head down. ‘My lovely. You have tried so hard to rid me. Do the cross shaped scars and memories of burns from holy water and holy oil not doing anything show you that? Or how none of your medicines nor your poisons with antidotes did anything? You can’t get rid of me my lovely. I will forever be here and come your 25th birthday I will make it official. You will be my bride and bare my children. Now speak my name my lovely. Speak it knowing one day it will be the name of your husband.”

Rowyn’s grip on the table tightened as a single tear escaped her eyes, she knew he was right. There was no hope in keeping her from her fate. A shaky breath was taken before she did as she was asked,
“Yes Rakshasa.”

The following day…

Vanguard soldiers marched down the hall. Orders from the king himself, ones that though left them with many questions, they all knew better than to say a thing. Stopping shortly, the men formed a line where they were told to. The traitor they were supposed to be arresting should be coming shortly and though the men wished not for a fight, they were prepared. Two of them were the main ones chosen to arrest the traitor and the other twenty were backup in the event the man decided to fight back. One of the men, was the general of the Vanguard himself, standing tall with his hand on the hilt of his sword.

Minutes passed until the traitor rounded the corner and began down the hall they were in, one that lead to the stairs leading to the wing of the castle where the princess’s chambers were. Another guard was already sent to be her new bodyguard, standing outside her door as the events elsewhere in the castle occurred.

“Halt Fenros.”The general ordered, walking to meet the man halfway. The other guards lining either side of the wall and the general’s second-hand behind him, all of them watching Fenros’ every move. “You no longer serve as the bodyguard of the princess and will not be heading any further near her.”

As Fenros walked around the corner he hesitated for a moment upon seeing the company of Vanguard that lined the walls of the hall. His hand instantly falling upon the pommel of his own sword. He moved forward cautiously as the general and another walked towards him. Reluctantly stopping when he was ordered to do so . When he was told he was no longer El’s bodyguard, he pulled his head back in confusion. Why was this? He couldn’t head further near her.

Shaking his head as he shifted side to side, coming to a rest at a slightly ready position to fight. Something was clearly wrong. “Why? What is the meaning of this?” He asked as he thought it might have been him riding off with Eleanor yesterday after the attack, But...He did his duty. While making sure there was more men to protect the king.

“Fenros Allaway you are under arrest for treason to the crown. Please come without a fight. We don’t want to have to use force but we will.” The general nodded towards the guards on either side of Fenros. All prepared to fight Fenros if they needed to.

Fenros was shocked at the charge of treason. He raised his left hand, telling them to wait as he took a step backwards as they started to move towards him. “Wait! What do you mean ‘treason’?! I’ve served the king faithfully always!” He wanted to fight this. They were in a smaller corridor, only room for three or so to line up against him. He could fight. But that would only confirm their suspicion, despite it being not true. Eleanor might be able to fight this if he just listened to the general. It would be a long shot but it was his only way to perhaps, one day be at her side again. As he allowed his arms to be seized by the guards.

“Correct move.” The general said as two men seized Fenros. They then began to take him to the dungeon. The general and his second-in-command right in front of him and two more guards behind him. The rest also following. Soon they were in the dungeons and after Fenros was disarmed of his weapons and stripped of his armor, he was led into a cell right beside the assassin.

News spread quite quickly that Fenros had been arrested for treason. People coming up with their own theories and ideas on what happened. Many outlandish ideas and very few actually wondering if it was just their evil king no longer getting use of him.

Once hearing the news, a mysterious person could be seen staring at the castle from a far. “Don’t worry. Help is on its way.”

Watching everything go down, Sapphire was getting anxious and just wanting to be with her brother. As soon as he was given a drink by Sophie, Hunt decided to finally lift his head. Once Flint finished the drink she was up and running to her brother as the man she talked to before spoke to her.
"Your brother should be stable enough for you to come sit and talk with him now."

Saph was already basically to them as he said those words. Soon she was tackling her brother to the ground as her arms wrapped around his neck. Barely able to take the words in he had spoken prior to her ‘affectionate tackle’.

“Who's ready to go huntin for some windigos?”

Flint was not expecting to be tackled. Under normal circumstances Saph would not be able to move her older brother an inch. But with him still recovering, she managed to flatten him to the ground. With Flint yelping slightly at the sudden attack.

As she hung onto her brother she perked up at the thought of hunting wendigos. “OOO! I want to go!” Saph exclaimed, already hearing the low growls of disapproval from Hunt across the room.

Mishka and Bobby both turned to her, and while no one heard Mishka, both of them said, “NO.” Bobby hobbled over to them and grabbed Saph by the cloak and lifted her up like one picking up a kitten off of Flint. “You are too young for that Lassy, they are a wee bit to dangerous for you.” He said with a grunt before moving her away and dropping her so she would land on her feet.

Feeling her hood being lifted, she began to flail as her body left the ground. Saph eventually gave up and just pulled her limbs in crossing her arms as she pouted. When she was set down she slumped and dragged her feet as she decided to go and help Sophie in the kitchen.

Time passed and finally, finally someone took the man of her lap and she felt her face return to normal. Rowyn took a deep breath as she tried to listen to the man talk, but of course her demon was being loud and it was keeping her from focusing.

‘Let me rip him apart! He was too close to somewhere promised to me AND ONLY ME! I DEMAND BLOOD!’

“Will you shut up?!” Rowyn hissed under her breath. Only focusing back into the man speaking on time to hear the call to hunt.

“Who's ready to go huntin for some windigos?”

Standing up, Rowyn grabbed her things and placed it over her shoulder. Once again lifting her skirt to replace her dagger into its holder, ignoring the catcalls and whistles again as she let her skirt fall once again.

“I will join. If he ended up hurt fighting the wendigos then the group will need my help. I need to go restock up on supplies and change into proper attire. Leaving without me would be idiotic.” Rowyn spoke coldly before she turned on her heel and hurried out of the tavern. She began running once out of the building heading straight to the small place she called home.

Relief filled Celosia’s body as she watched the hunter’s retreating body. She could feel heat traveling through her body as night began to fall. Closing her eyes she let the heat take over as she felt her hair began to change into lava. She felt her hair grow heavier and warmer before the weight disappeared and she was just left with the feeling of lava and well the normal weight of hair. Just this time it was different.

Opening her eyes she looked to Taran as her clothing began to burn away thanks to her hair. Pushing her now long dripping hair in front of her she was able to cover herself as her clothing burnt and fell off. Celosia wrapped her arms around her hair and over her chest, looking down to double check her hair was covering herself. She also noticed that the ground around her was now burning from the lava.

Looking back up, Celosia sighed in annoyance. “Well. Times run out it seems. Luck was just on our side though. Well in one way.”

Sapphire sat with the two wolves, her hand anxiously running through the fur on Hunt’s neck as she watched the woman take care of her brother. She knew he was in good hands but she couldn’t help but worry. He was her brother after all. If something happened to anyone in her family it would break her. Her love for her family was one of the most driving parts of her.

The brunette’s attention was snapped to focus on the masked face of a man who sat on the floor next to her. Hunt let out a low growl of warning as he glared at the man, but his growl was cut short as Saph flicked his snout. “Be nice Hunt.” Sapphire warned him before focusing on the man as he began to speak.

"I know this must seem like the strangest time for me to ask but... where did you get your hooded cloak from? It seems like it's really warm and well made and the shade of red suits you nicely." The man commented.

“Well normally my family says I’m not supposed to talk to strangers, especially men. But you clearly are trying to distract me from what is happening with my brother so I will break the rule this time.” Sapphire mentioned, facing the man.

“Break it this time!? When do you not break the rule?” Hunt commented causing Sapphire to give him a look which he just returned. Once Saph refocused on the man she smiled her usual smile.

“Well, ya see. It was a gift for my 12th birthday. Since I had decided to take up hunting my mom made it for me. It is unique to me but it also kind of matches my brother’s. Though his is basically falling apart now. But it was basically like my family finally accepting they could not turn me away from being a hunter! It is one of my favorite things behind my family and Hunt, and the other wolves, and Uncle Bobby of course.” Once she had begun talking, she just began to ramble on. Saph opened her mouth to talk again when she heard her brother’s voice. She snapped her head in time to watch him break the table and fall off of it. Then she heard him mention Wendigo’s and her eyes widened as her thoughts began to race.

Sitting back on the chair next to the table, Rowyn watched the man. Watching his color and his chest. Making sure he didn’t turn blue or get any paler and making sure he was still breathing. She could care less for the blood still on her hands. She’d wash them soon enough, well that was her plan. The demon wanted her to do something else of course.

‘You should just lick the blood off your hands. Then you will finally know how delicious mortal blood is.’ The demon purred in her mind’s ear.

“You and I both know that I am not going to do that.” Rowyn whispered under her breath in response to the disgusting idea of the demon. This was an all too normal idea of his when she ended up with blood on her hands. His newest thing for her to try was blood. Seeing as the last time he had possessed her body, he’d forced her to eat raw meat and well. It didn’t turn out too well for her. It made her very sick and she wanted to get angry but she couldn’t as doing so would just give him control again. Something she did not want. The demon had then decided he needed to get her used to blood first, because of course logically she needed to like blood and be used to it before she could eat raw meat. Not that raw meat could just be bad for her in a different sense. No the demon wouldn’t listen to that reason.

Turning her gold eyes upon a blonde woman, she watched as the woman placed her hand on the injured man’s forehead and muttered words. The only ones Rowyn could make out were ‘power’ and ‘heaven’. The woman and the words made the demon within her uneasy and even Rowyn uneasy. All things holy only hurt Rowyn because of the demon so priests and churches and the such had always had her uneasy.

‘I don’t like her. Too holy. Kill her before she becomes a problem. Kill her.’

Rowyn ignored the demon as it began to practically chant for her to kill the woman. Something Rowyn refused to do. As the demon within continued to chant, she watched on with golden eyes as the woman looked disappointed after saying her words. She wasn’t sure what she was trying to do but it seemed it hadn’t worked or just didn’t have the effect she wanted. Rowyn’s attention was snapped to focus onto a younger man with red hair as he spoke.

“...’s good work miss. I’ll...help I guess? Get clean bandages and what not as you need them. Got nothing else to do and it seem a bit unfair to leave you taking care of the injured on yer own.”

“Oh. Uh.. thank you.” Rowyn hadn’t ever had anyone compliment her healing so it was weird and new to her, leaving her not sure how to respond, she did however know how to respond to the rest, “There really is no need for you to help. I’ve done this for quite a few years on my own now. I can handle it alone. But.. uh… thank you though?” She thanked him not sure if she should, so it came out as a question. Rowyn was used to working alone. To being alone. Help. Well she’d never had it before so she wasn’t sure she really needed it. She was sure she didn't want it. She wouldn’t say that of course. Saying so would be rude. Being rude could mean losing potential customers. No customers, no income. No income, she was back on her own fending for herself and well then there was no chance of ever ridding herself of the demon.

Before either could speak another word, the injured man woke up and introduced himself before flirting? Did he really just attempt to flirt when he was still so pale and weak? Well, that was certainly different but honestly he was a hunter, so not too surprising to the girl. What was surprising was the table breaking, the man falling and his face… landing where it did.

His face landed face down in her lap.

Rowyn froze, shocked and entirely unsure of what to do. The position, though in public fully clothed and well they’d only just met, seemed very much so like something meant for private. Between two people in a relationship nonetheless. All Rowyn could do was sit in shock as her face slowly grew redder and redder. His comment on wendigos barely phasing her. All the while her demon was shouting obscenities in her brain, saying how only he was allowed to do such things to her and such.

She wouldn’t lie, she’d been feeling it too. The same uneasiness that Taran had been feeling. The forest felt off. She’d been in it before and today the feeling was wrong. As she listened to the man explain that not all she requested might be fulfilled and as he introduced himself, she shifted from one foot to another. Celosia was well aware she might not get everything she wanted, she’d try.

When Taran told her they couldn’t be there anymore right before a scream rang out from the village, Cel couldn’t agree more. The fog that was seeping from the town into the woods towards them held a feeling of power and danger. A slight itch to help those in the town sat in the back of her mind as she took off running behind Taran, barely able to see him as the fog was on either side of her and nipping at his ankles. Celosia kept reminding herself that there were only hunters in town now. That her town was dead, gone, destroyed. She closed her eyes and let out a breath before reopening them as the itch faded and she began to run faster.

Celosia had to skid to a halt though as she watched a man come running out of the fog straight into Taran. She noticed the man was a hunter and her guards were up immediately but she made sure to not use any magic as she approached and held out a hand to Taran to help him up all while eyeing and watching the man closely. She was unsure of what to say in the situation. Celosia had no interactions with hunters except for spotting them and hiding from them. She decided to let Taran handle the situation all while she kept an eye on the area around them as the fog grew thicker. Her eyes flicking from area to area to the mystery man back to the areas around. Her ears listening out for anything suspicious and her magic warming her body just in case. The fog was dangerous but the man was too. Cel had yet to determine which one was more dangerous though.
