When Indigo first boarded the airship to what he thought was on it’s way straight to Beacon, he was almost shuddering from the anticipation and excitement building up inside him. To him, today was the day that would move forward to the rest of his life, and he was pumped to get there. Who needed to wait, he was taking charge of his future right now, and today, when he’d arrive at beacon, be believed it would be worth the wait. With each passing step he drew closer to his room, a large smirk appearing as he reached for the handle. Today!

What Indigo didn’t realize was that the day he was picked up was not the day he’d arrive at Beacon, a fact he only came to realize as that first day on the airship drifted slowly onward. Any excitement he may have had was slowly drifting away into a never ending boredom that was near impossible to fight in the stuffy room he was stuck in. A majority of that first day was spent vexed as he stared up at the wall above from his bed, despising the lack of free space his room provided, and attempting to figure out ways to entertain himself. A way to keep active in such a confined space, it almost sounded unrealistic. But then it hit him, if he was able to properly sleep on the bed, then that meant there was just enough room to do some simple exercises. If he couldn’t run and since any of his weights were in his luggage somewhere on the ship, then he’d have to stick to some mediocre pushups, situps, and things like planking. The bed would make it hard to stay properly upright as he wouldn’t have a good base to hold himself up, but at least it was something in his eyes.

It turned out to be a great way to pass the time, and when he felt his body feel close to collapsing, he dragged himself into the bathroom for a nice, relaxing shower to ease and sooth his muscles. It was hard to fight the sleep that kept poking at him, and it felt like whatever strength he had left was being used to stay awake for just awhile longer to enjoy the warm cascade of water. He was glad that it was approaching night by the time he was finished, and without hesitation, fell asleep content.

He wasn’t sure of the exact time he woke up, but he felt refreshed and energized, ready to face the new day and tackle… the wait? He wasn’t sure exactly, the entire process was extremely idiotic to him, but if his assumptions were right, maybe they just wanted everyone there at the same time? But if that were the case, why not… He shook his head, he had just woken up and already he was thinking about the weird schedule Beacon had set for picking up students. It wasn’t worth worrying about anyway, and so Indigo lightly slapped his face several times to jolt himself awake, stretching slightly as he started getting ready. By the time he finished, he was in luck, as the announcement played that they would be arriving soon.

Grabbing his weapon, Indigo’s excitement from the day before resurfaced as he rushed to the viewing gallery. The view was simply breathtaking, definitely an improvement over Vacuo! He couldn’t help but grin at the castle in the distance, beginning to stretch a bit more as he stared outside. After all, if he was going to be among the first to get out of this thing and arrive, he’d need to make sure he wasn’t about to pull something!

All in all, I'm not sure how I feel about Russell being a leader. He's not really the leadership type, it doesn't really fit with his character, and wasn't really the direction I wanted to bring him. He's more the type to get lost and then realise he's lost, get worried, and run around in fear, getting even more lost.

I wouldn't worry too much, think of it like Jaune. He's definitely not the most qualified leader, especially when he first arrived to Beacon. You could use Russell being the leader as a way to gradually grow him. Sure, at the start he may be entirely lost, but maybe he could develop into the role with time?

Indigo would consider himself of good physique, standing at a decent 5’7” (170cm) and roughly 142lbs (64.4kg). His complexion is tanned from growing up in the harsh desert sun, and he has an athletic build that he constantly wants to improve.

At first glance, Indigo may seem a bit snide and cocky due to constantly keeping a smirk on his face, but you could think of it as his natural smile. He’s the type of person who does his best to look at the bright side of things, but instead of facing the world with an almost hopeful and energetic smile, he chooses to face it with what he believes is a confident disposition hardened by the desert. He hardly has any boundaries in terms of a conversation, feeling he has little to nothing to hide and he doesn’t mind going out of his way to be extroverted, but he does his best to respect other people’s boundaries when he realizes he may be causing discomfort. Granted, he has a bad habit of not choosing his words carefully which doesn’t help him appear any less rude or intimidating, but those who know him know to take these comments with a grain of salt as Indigo means the best.

In combat, Indigo switches tones to be a bit more rational and patient against his opponents, trying to get them to reveal a moment of weakness for him to exploit. While he prefers to stay far from his opponent due to the nature of his ranged weapon, he has no issue with trying to overpower and outsmart them if they get a bit too close for comfort. He values cooperation as a part of his gameplan, and does his best to point out his enemies potential flaws or tactics to his team. He also loves dust cartridges for the versatility they can provide, especially with the use of his sniper.

Likes: Indigo unsurprisingly likes hotter weather, preferring Summer heat over the frigid weather of Winter as it reminds him of home. He also prefers to be active, liking activities such as swimming, running, or simply working out. Other likes include music, competitions, cooking, and action games.

Dislikes
Indigo has a strong dislike for bandits or people who attempt to use another for their own personal gain, having dealt with double-crossers and the like back in Vacuo. He also hates people who try to lone wolf and do their own thing constantly, or people who constantly try to impose their own beliefs on others. To a lesser extent, Indigo also dislikes being forced to sit still.

Fears
Indigo has several fears, some more pressing than others. On a larger scale, Indigo has a fear of failure, not necessarily because he hates failing itself, but what failing can imply depending on the situation, and how bright sides can’t be achieved if he can’t make them happen. He’s also afraid of not being strong enough to defend himself or others. On a lesser scale, he also hates heights.

Motivation
Indigo’s main reason for wanting to become a Hunter is fairly straightforward, Grimm and bandits have been a constant threat and nuisance in Vacuo, and Indigo wants to be able to defend what he cares about. Long term, he wants to see Vacuo flourish like it used to in the distant past, and in order to reach that he believes he needs to become stronger to tame the lawless desert that Vacuo is.

Brief Bio

Indigo was born in a harsher side of Vacuo, being the youngest next to his older brother to a huntsman and huntress. To be brief, essentially his parents were part of a larger group of huntsman and huntresses hired to protect various nomadic transportations that would travel around Vacuo trading, evading bandits, providing supplies, etc, from the many dangers that Vacuo holds. They would also provide training lessons to those who could not reach areas close to Shade academy or training schools where the law was more, well, there. Though things never really went as planned. As Indigo grew, he saw friends disappear from raids, people starving from lack of resources before they arrived, or settlements in the sand destroyed from the Grimm.

Growing up in this environment, you learn fast what will and won’t get you killed, and Indigo was no different. Stay on the move, keep your guard up, strength can defuse a situation when words do nothing, don’t be afraid to fight, various lessons such as these all became reality at one point as he grew up with this nomadic group. And since he was constantly surrounded by trained huntsman who were willing to teach at each new stop, he could practice with new individuals while developing his own fighting style. So when he was old enough to attend an academy, everyone thought that maybe he’d go to Shade and stay in Vacuo. And while it was comforting to him, he thought he’d test his luck outside of his element and experience a world outside of sand, thus applying to Beacon instead. He promised he’d return to his family and friends once he graduated, and with their help, he was off to Vale.

Semblance

Dangerous Game: Dangerous Game is an activated semblance highly dependant on the user’s current aura level. As Indigo’s aura reserves come shockingly close to depleting, Dangerous Game is enhanced. Essentially, activating Dangerous Game on significant lower aura levels increases his reaction time and agility, allowing him to be significantly harder to hit the lower his aura is, as he would not only be faster than normal but also have the reaction time to keep up with his new speed. The drawback stems from how, if his aura isn’t low enough,his semblance is useless because he receives no benefits, as its usefulness is dependant on how close he is to having no aura at all.

Of course, even with these boosts, being able to activate it is also a telltale sign that his aura is significantly low and that he’s on the breaking point of his aura. By using Dangerous Game as a last resort, Indigo hopes that he’ll be able to turn the battle in his favor without getting hit back. And since he also has to activate it, if his aura is gone before he can even use it, then it also is useless to him.
If I had to put it to numbers, if his aura is above around 30% left, Dangerous Game doesn’t do anything.

Partnerships are separated, leaders are highlighted. Teams were chosen by opposite character traits overall in an attempt to make things as interesting as possible. Any questions or concerns are not only accepted by appreciated- this kind of got cobbled together with me and an index card, so it's not necessarily the best, but I think these teams and pairings best promote that good ol' RP drama/growth thing we all love.

Cassius and Indigo as partners with Cassius as the leader, didn't see that coming but it definitely adds something interesting to this. It's funny, Cas and I were talking a bit in DMs about their interactions, and if that brief little talk is anything to go off of this is gonna be a wild and fun trip.

Definitely, I'm getting all excited over who will be with who. Imagine if it's all conflicting personalities, that would be a massive trip of getting adjusted to your team. But overall, I think everyone here has made some awesome characters, and with awesome people like y'all behind them, I know this is gonna be a fun ride.

That's probably my fault, I think I used not having character specific powers as a way to emphasize how they're basically just a skin of a character and not the character.

Eyyy I was right, most people would be running around with that generation of game avatars. As for mine, if I find a model I'll like, I'll probably tweak some of the colors a tad so that way it's a bit more unique to me.

Given the timeframe, they may not be as recognized as we are able to as this is set in the future. In this instance, Jack would be a character initially released roughly 65 years before this RP takes place, as Mass Effect 2 came out in 2010 and this is set in 2075. I'd assume in that jump into the future, tons of new games would be more appealing to use their avatars, so by choosing stuff we recognize now, it may be more unique as they're older game characters.
But the way I saw it, is that there could be plenty of people with that avatar, but it's like Gmod you know? Even though you could be playing with a distinguished character model, it's still you in the end. I assume the avatar is just the appearance, and even if you used an avatar of someone like Jack, you wouldn't have, say, her powers.

I think by 3D picture they simply mean finding a picture that shows a 3D model of what your character will be? For instance, as an example if I wanted to use a character from Rainbow Six Siege, I'd need to find a picture of their model in-game instead of using something like fanart or portraits. At least, that's how I interpreted it, and I could be wrong.
