No hot sauce for me tomorrow.

Also, it's fine if Tzi could catch a glimpse of the thing, or is that too fast?

Considering how big it's, that should be ok.
Massive apologies for not being around.

Don't really have an excuse beyond self-inflicted procrastination over schoolwork and the like.

If I don't get a post up by tomorrow, I will eat hot sauce raw.

Be my guest:
In honor of the original, I'm going to write Dresden in first person perspective, because that is how he was originally written.

If this bothers you too much, I can switch to third person

I'll be sincere, I'd rather not see this. But that's just of my personal opinion, 1st person narration in a RPG is extremely annoying to read and clashes up with the established style that everyone else uses. So it's really unsightly.

Plus, it invokes the sensation of being the main character, or at least the POV character, of the media you are in. Which no PC usually is in any RP. Again, that's just my opinion but it's indeed the literary device that this style of narration invokes/is meant for.

@Inner Demon@floodtalon

You can always have the outcome of their fight be in a trade of blows that end with both characters suffering the fate I've mentioned above.

While Zack burns out to death or at least to an unpowered/unconscious state that he'll not recover from in the course of this battle (which basically means that you are going to be at the mercy of others to be killed or captured), Henry ends up getting injured and unable to rely on his Silver Eyes at the very least for a decent while.

Both of you just have to reach a compromise that works better for both parts. That's the best solution I can think of without the need for external intervention/one of them getting out on top of the other completely unscathed.

It'll be a costly battle for both of them and a reminder that, even on this eternal war of biblical proportions, one has to be smart, if they don't want to fuck themselves. Something pretty much every PC ends up learning sooner or latter.
@Inner Demon@floodtalon

Ok, so here's the deal. I'm not saying any of you cannot be powerful, that's fact. Henry is obviously fairly more powerful than Zack thanks to his Eyes, but I'm not asking anyone to die outright.

However, escalating the fight in a couple of turns to a level where no one else can even get close to it without becoming finely atomized particles, isn't doing favors to no one. Edits of IC posts are heavily frowned upon for their capacity to cause unneeded chaos and delay/completely change people's replies.

So, I say that, like every single character that has overextended and overexerted their powers up to now, Zack will have to pay the price by realizing his mistake when he goes out of power or burns himself in a very short order. It simply wouldn't be fair if we had bashed people in the past because of that and didn't do this to him so that's not really a question here. He dying because of hubris must happen in one or two posts at most.

Henry is mostly cool for the time being (given that he's trying to use his powers in a smarter way this time and I can actually see that he was struggling there for the first part of the battle), but I suggest that he gets at least tired, if not exhausted after this clash and has to avoid relying on his eyes so heavily for sometime. It doesn't need to be for the rest of the battle, but at least for a while he should need to catch a breath. Of course, Henry can always overextend as well, but he tasted the consequences of it on his flesh more than once in various battles. I guess that he knows what will happen if he pushes too far.

Other than this, I have no qualms other than implore for people's posts, in general, to stop deceiving each others because of excessive purple prose. This has become an increasingly complex problem to deal with and I'd like to not have to yell at you like a rabbid tiger every two or three days because of it.

After all, come on, I learned to be clear on my posts (to a point that I don't think is really needed, since I don't like setting hard numbers on this too much, but well), after the complaints about the nebulous nature of Victoire's roses echoed around for too long. I'm not asking any of you to not do anything that I'm not doing on my own. There's a pretty clear count down to doom on foot of my posts (a very, very slower one compared to every other battle Victoire has ever been in, should I say). Everyone here knows what happens when the roses grow to a size that they'll regenerate/keep growing at a faster rae than anyone can burn/destroy them.

If, and that's a big if, any Vassal controlled by me ever drops around to fight anyone actively (since they still exist as anti-idiocy deterrents, after all), then I'll afford to be nebulous given that they are living plot devices. Even with them, I never deceived anyone with purple prose on my posts and don't think I'll. There's no for anyone to know what's happening if the text isn't at least easy to understand.

This is the only thing I wish all of you get to understand. Because I'm none too happy of having to come here to do this kind of announcement for the third or fourth time in less then 2 months.
@KoL...There is no miles upon miles. The heat radius is just over 100 meters. That's 50 meters in each direction increasing by feet per minute around Zak. Not miles upon miles considering a mile is about 1600 meters. Then the Zak that shot into the ground created even more lava "for miles" downward I.E. the chasm which I did state was directly below Zak and Henry.

I haven't read everything of these replies yet, since I'm rather busy, but this is what I'd like to point:

The ground began to quake, trembling as magma and flames churned below the surface. Massive shifts in the landscape continued to rend across the graveyard. Buildings and gravestones sunk into the lake of molten rock, melting away as a fiery chasm slowly began to form at the heart of the battlefield. Miles of catacombs and cave systems directly below the battle between Henry and Zachariah had begun to collapse as the ancient foundations were filled with lava and melted away. The extra archangel swimming through the sea of fire as if it was water spawned several circles of runic symbols which trailed behind him along his path. He cut through the underground, traveling on tides of magma that bent to his will. Heavy stirring motion churned out of the circles and beings of fire began to form. Monstrous shapes swam beneath the coalescent wasteland, breaching the surface with large glowing talons as they slowly emerged. Titanic wings made of holy flames tore their way up from the scorching soil, displacing mounds of charred dirt and lava as they reached up into the sky. With a massive wing beat, a cyclone of sweltering winds swept over the land as the large winged beast of incandescent flames ripped out of the molten chasm in a massive explosion of debris and smoke.

I said that yesterday on this very thread. Do not deceive me or anyone else, with your flowery descriptions. If you write miles, it's miles that everyone is gonna imagine. Purple prose is good only up to a point, when it makes the text incomprehensible (which Zack has a very big tendency of doing, as I notice), it becomes a serious problem.

The only guideline all of us have to understand what's happening inside of the story is what any of us write, so... being clear could save us from a lot of headaches like this in the future, right? How many times was it that I said this on this very thread... to various people? Ahh... I just can't count anymore.

The hammer solves all problems, after all.
@floodtalon

Poor Henry, he doesn't realize that anyone that gets too close to tungsten-melting fire (tungsten is the most refractory natural metal, melting at temperatures in the excess of 3k Kelvin) would get evaporated in a flash, literally.

Trying to observe this fight is like trying to watch a nuke explode with naked eyes, at this point, no one would like to do that for the 100% chance of going blind.
Oh, and let us not forget nosell man, aka Zeruel, who learned that no one is ignore the hard way.

In all sincerity, despite the crybabying about the Vassals (mainly Juno), even I was never shameless enough to did out this level of "You ain't gonna beat me", wide area kill zones out of the blue. If Zack pushed the argument forward, I'm really gonna strike him with the GM hammer. That's not a request at this point.
Just for the record, the holy fire Zak is using is harmless to allies. The lava could be fairly dangerous since its molten earth but the extreme heat radiating out for the hundred+ meters doesn't effect the "pure of heart" aka forces of heaven.

Slow down, dude. Zack is starting to disgust me, this last post is close to the maximum I'll accept he being able to do. Seriously? Miles upon miles of unbeatable destruction without any form of preparation, just by standing there?

How is ANY OTHER CHARACTER IN THIS BATTLE BUT HENRY AND, THE OP AS HELL HARVESTER (which I'm actually going to look closely into as well to avoid the kind of thing that Zack is doing from happening twice) ever get even close enough of Zack to fight him?

That's really disgusting me, spewing forth continuous nuke levels of power, so slow down. At the very, very least, using this much power (that is probably way to close to Eye User levels of relevant exaggeration) will kill Zack in the process out drain him of power in the blink of an eye.

We have stick Henry and Grafdakka for that less absurd power playing in the past. Do not ignore this, Zack is at the very least go out of power in a very short order, of not not outright kill himself from too much exertion.

I like how Maya assumed Nadalena hates her like the rest of them.

Doesn't Nadia hates everyone?
