It's a String of Fate; it attaches me to this time period so that I don't get erased, but they have other uses. I only have one left.

Right now, you live under the Autonomous System. After the Tier System fell an the Nobility System was defeated the second time, Existence is currently operating without any interfering forces. Once Data unlocks the Gears of Existence and ushers in the Balkan System, it's every dimension for itself.

And since it was brought up, the letter is a backup plan for if she dissappears.
