EDIT: I do have an idea to make a version of him that actually wins, becomes a god, and finds out that Jenova was manipulating him the entire time so she could rise up and consume the planet using him as a puppet, uses the lifestream to purge all sentience from her cells, and then flies around in a planet body.

While also becoming less of a dick thanks to having increased wisdom due to the lifestream.
