<Snipped quote by Legend>

Valid superstition just means there’s more to it.

Certainly. When dealing with the supernatural, there's often much more behind the scenes.
*Picks a new hologram from a menu, pulls my goggles over my eyes, and welds the final pieces of the soul to new components*
I think that should be near complete. Her memory will be very delicate as it acclimates to the missing connections.
<Snipped quote by Legend>

For the superstitious, yeah.

*Chuckles*
Superstition is occasionally founded on legitimate principles.
*Melds the plate to the glove, which pulses magical energy through the model, binding the soul's new facets*
<Snipped quote by Legend>

I really just hope there are no unforeseen or undesirable side effects.

That statement would be considered a bad omen in some cultures.
*Opens a drawer and removes a chrome plate*
<Snipped quote by Legend>

Didn’t know if there was any period where anything had to settle.

She'll likely be disoriented for quite some time. But she should be able to be activated near-immediately.
<Snipped quote by Legend>

Yet, when we try to create souls like you are. It’s almost impossible, but when it is naturally involved…It just works.

Precisely. There’s something about its nature that eludes invention.
<Snipped quote by Legend>

Will we be able to see the results of things immediately after?

I can activate her boot protocol.
<Snipped quote by Legend>

Hmm...
*Crosses my arms and watches*

*Increases the size of the model to that of the room, and then drags large clumps of material between different quadrants of the lab*
It shouldn’t be much longer.
<Snipped quote by Legend>

There's the stipulation. Yeah, I could imagine how difficult that is.

Melody opens the door to quite a few steps, but has not connected all the dots yet, so to speak.
*The model inverts, and I carve out new sections, while replacing them with other, completely artificial components*
<Snipped quote by Legend>

I assume you mean fully custom designed or something? I thought souls could develop around artificial beings but I would guess that’s not entirely what you mean by making an artificial soul.

Non-biological entities may have souls, but creating a soul from scratch is far from trivial. Typically, souls are connected to some other soul by origin if nothing else, but to create a truly artificial soul, constructed by a completely mechanized process, is beyond complex.

<Snipped quote by Legend>

I would imagine. Souls are something that not as they seem completely.

As many experts in the field have made me aware. It isn’t something I’d like to dedicate my life’s work to.
<Snipped quote by Legend>

Interesting. What made you get into it?

I wanted to create an artificial soul. So far, that endeavor has not been as successful as I had hoped.
