Not that long ago, the Holy Lands fought a single but very harsh battle against New Engelica. The feats performed their formed the first legend of New Engelica. Eléane got her nickname ‘godslayer’ there. It was also the first showcase of how important mages were and could be within a battle. Now however, peace rules the land. The only sign of the battle is the magical scare in the ground. The people were initially afraid of the mages and their civil services. But they swiftly saw that it was very profitable to only let it rain when you wanted it to. Cultural change swept the country. And now, for the first time again, a youngling gifted in magic can step forward and graduate to a status that recognizes his talent.

The king received Orngat’s dwarf himself. He himself nearly commanded all mages to march for Orngat to defend it with their lives. But Eléane ushered him not to. Instead she would lead a single group to fortify one province. Through unity, they would be more successful and powerful against this mysterious ‘Darkness’. The dwarven envoy agreed to this, and requested the strengthening of the nearest province relative to the approaching Darkness. And thus 400 magi, accompanied by 15 war-magi marched towards Orngat. Lead by Eléane herself. But unbeknown to her father, she gave another order. 100 magi and 3 war-magi had the explicit orders to defend them. Through the weaving of shields or keeping their familiars close by. The others were given the orders not to take risks what so ever. Eléane wanted no casualties among the mages of New Engelica.

@PlatinumSkink Neighbor! Okay quick update on what happened down at your place form what I know.

You and I sort of got an alliance going. You helped me and ForKhorne conquer a province from an NPC nation. Beyond that I didn't have much interaction with you yet. Still, New Engelica's mages (my country has literally all the magical traits except enchanting so far) are almost demi-gods and if the darkness invades you, feel free to call for help.

Further a peaceful nation wouldn't be too bad I guess. The GM leaves a lot of freedom to do what you want to do. However, from my experience: everything can have consequences here.
The final feast was a grand one. With an endless supply of food and wine. The Toran warriors were given a place at the table where King Castor was seated. The champion of Toran was seated right next to King Castor. Who himself engaged in a hearty game of small talks with the large man. The mysterious yet beautiful woman was ascend from the feast. But prince Imrik relayed a message from her to the warrior. She was very pleased with his victory and she hoped they would soon meet again. Eventually the feast roared to an end the following afternoon. A day later most guests left. King Castor gave several invitations with the other faction their warriors. The Toran champion, aside from the promised amount of gold and a great sword forged for the great champion, got an invitation for his king. Requesting a humble meeting to discuss certain cooperations. The same message was given with the Argaillne princess. To king Markus he said that Euraith’s doors were always open and that they should discuss a possibility to make a lasting bond between their two houses. All in due time of course.

“He did what!?” yelled Castor towards the messenger. He wasn’t a religious man. Nor a man fond of Lucious Vermiculus. But killing your father was a lowly act only performed by savages. He could not believe that the ruling family of Tar Sequinus fell to such depraved action. The murder of ones family is an act that only a demon of the lowest world could perform. In reaction, he sealed the borders with Tar Sequinus.
Damn it, I'm so excited!
Little time passed between the melee and the joust. Soon Lord Bornetall and Ghan would face off. King Castor, ‘forgot’ king Northwood’s bet and made a new one. He put a bet on Ghan the warrior. In the afternoon, after a light meal the royalty picked up their spots again. The lady was no there though. Instead she walked up to the lance Ghan would use and touched it with the wildflower he gave her. In an almost supernatural fashion the flower’s stem grew like a vine around the lance. She turned to Ghan and said: “Take this. See it as my favor.” Before she left him.

Lord Caledon of House Araet, master of the fleet, did hear about the naval battle of Gynr Shalorn against Vaalgard and Nastrond. He brought this news to king Castor in a very discreet matter. The king said that a fleet of 300 ships were to be prepared in case the joint fleet of Vaalgard and Nastrond was to fail. He would not give Gynr Shalorn a chance.

In case of the letter he followed his peer’s their example.
Dear king Nieldun

Sylvannyr will not take part in this fight against the shadows. I do wish you the greatest luck in this fight. May you prevail even without our support.

Signed by King Castor
Claw, I posted on the 5th page, second to last post. I think you might have missed it.
Question, does my tournament count as 1 feast?
The lady receiving Ur’agahan’s flower smiled as she took the flower, and kept it close to her. She was standing among the public, still hooded for everyone. She was even amazed Ur’agahan found her. Yet also relieved that he did.

“I will keep you on that.” Chuckled king Castor. That night, there was no feast. But it was apparent that the activity within the castle would not lessen. More food and ale was brought in. Entire pigs were herded into the tiny room next to the kitchen. Where the pigs would be slaughtered. For those who’d want to mingle with the common folks, the main square of Euraith turned into a drunken party as prince Merias won his joust. When the clock struck midnight, the challenge board was altered to show the new duels.
- The Toran Warrior VS the Airgiallne warrior princess
- Lord Bornetall VS Elias Sylvanas

The following day, the second last challenge, a melee duel, would be fought before midday. So the final fight could be finished by the evening and the greatest feast could be given in honor of the victor. King Castor entered his booth once more. This time the mysterious lady was no longer dressed in cloak and hood. Instead she wore a dress so beautiful that it made even Aline jealous. The dress was emerald green, trimmed with gold. Her beautiful red hair adorned by the single wild flower. When she took her seat, still behind the king, the first duel could start.
The lady looked straight at the Toran warrior. She might have been the fairest being ever lived. A face so beautiful that when Castor laid eyes on it the first time he almost expected it to radiate. Yet she hid it under a hood for most of the time. “I hide my face not because of anyone here. I fear no warrior. Nobody in this hall can even touch me if I would not wish it. But I thank you for your nobility. What is your name, young man?” the fair lady asked the Toran warrior. Her voice so gentle, like a young mother talking to her baby.

King Castor drew the token. And for the entire hall he announced that that the Vaalgardi crown prince was allowed a second chance in the next fight. Swiftly the boards were lifted. Tomorrow it would be a joust. The opponents were:
- Lord Bornetall VS the Airgaillne warrior who won against the Vaalgardi prince
- Merias Bornetall VS the Toran Warrior
- The Vaalgardi crown Prince VS Elias Sylvanas
- The Airgiallne warrior princess VS Keiran Bornetall

Elias, seeing the uninterested glance, slammed his knife’s point into the table. Which gained him a stern look from his father. Castor whispered something in the ear of a servant. Soon Fendar, the Reaver Knight Captain appeared and had the annoying task of escorting Elias out. Who thankfully didn’t make too much of a scene.

Aline had had clear orders. Getting married to one of Northwood’s sisters was the job of her brothers. Elias failed miserably, but Imrik was having success. Her task to was to talk with the other countries’ their warriors. See which one would also be suitable. Instead she took up the seat of Elias who left and started talking and gossiping with king Markus’ youngest sister. Occasionally seeing the youngest brother and blushing.

The feast was only late in the night concluded, and everyone took to their bedrooms. The following day, after midday the grand jousting tournament was about to start as King Castor entered his booth. This time, without the hooded lady.
Many mages had received their Spirit Tree sapling. Most planted it near their houses. The Spirit Trees swiftly grew in size. Turning into weird shapes with hollow points and holes in it. It absorbed the oozing magic from the talented War-Magi. Feeding from that unused power, magic essence flowed through its branches into the leaves. This served as a beacon for kind spirits who decided to make the Spirit Tree their home. Small lights could be seen within the hollow points of the Trees. Spirits dwelling within, feeding of the magic from the tree. Most of the tree grew wild and irregular. But some branches were straight and strong. In due time they would be ready to cut off. And from them, the music instruments needed to communicate with the spirits would be made.

In the meantime, everywhere where there are New Engelican War-Magi, spirits awaken. In the water strange, blue-glowing fishes are swimming. In hearths strange red salamanders are seen just sitting in the flames. In the air sometimes small, yellow-glowing birds appeared out of no-where and in the forests, green-glowing squirrels are seen jumping from tree to tree. Any attempt to capture these creatures is met with failure. Once within a net, the simply dissolve into nothingness. Studying them seems impossible, but these spirits seem to be very fond of War-Magi.

The council of War-Magi had heard the request from the Dwarven Forgelord Mylori. A fairly younger dwarf than the first one who appeared within Al’Gruin. The council was not fond of Mylori’s request. Having already marched with them in 2 wars, now seemed hardly the best time to march onwards to another. By bird the still traveling Ruin King had received word of the request and agreed with his War-Magi that the armies of Engelica were in no shape to fight against another opponent. The maximum they could afford was sending out several Magi as support. Healing up the Broken Empire’s wounded soldiers and cast artillery spells far behind the frontlines. This was then explained to Mylori.
