Anyway, and sorry to bring IRL into this, but Osamu and the Mon Alliance can be loosely likened to Rojava without the War Crimes and with the Gender Equality and Sustainability and Democratic Processes. The Resistance, meanwhile, can be likened (loosely again) to the Free Syrian Army while the Reign of Chaos is a combination of the Syrian Government and ISIL.

Osamu and Naoki, the two main leaders, want to keep themselves independent of a Strong Central Multiversal Government, although the rest of the Mon Alliance's named characters don't really care.

Basically, that's how I see it.

But, anyway, Osamu and Naoki dream of a loose coalition of Multiversal States; one 'state' for Mons, one 'state' for Mechas, and one 'state' for Slice-of-Life. It's not necessarily perfect, but it differs enough from the Resistance's own ideals to make the Mon Alliance different.

@Lmpkio, @FacePunch, I need a reason for the Mon Alliance and the Resistance to act at cross-purposes beyond Lol! Regionalism. Basically, I want them to be good guys who somewhat distrust each other, finding it hard to coordinate. Problem is, the Mon Alliance includes reasonable people like Taichi Yagami, while the Resistance has Leia Organa.

Osamu, meanwhile, wants no truck of this 'New Multiversal Council' "bullshit" (his words, not mine). At most, he'll settle for a loose federation with strong rights for member states.
