@Bondye
I haven't gotten to play MH Rise yet, since I mostly do PC gaming, so I'm not familiar with the new monsters there. But I don't see a problem with them showing up down the line once I get familiar with the game.
Hey! I'm glad my check is considered that good, thanks!

As for post length, I'd rather you post well-written content that makes sense, rather than fill some kind of quota. I don't expect people to meet some kind of "X paragraphs per post" thing. Quality over quantity to me means that if it makes sense to write a short post, then you shouldn't fluff up the length of the post with nonsense. Something like back-and-forth dialog, or actions in combat, or posts where you want to give other players the chance to say/do something before moving on, all require shorter posts on average, sometimes even only one or two lines. On the contrary, if you want to be very detailed about something or just have a lot to say or do, or are setting a scene or establishing something about the scene, then by all means write as many paragraphs as you want. TLDR: post what feels right, and write well instead of writing more.

Post frequency I think is something that the whole group should come together to decide. I'm willing to post multiple times a day, but for some people that'd simply too often for them to respond and they shouldn't be punished for it.

MONSTER HUNTER WORLD

Starfall

Music for your reading pleasure!

The Elder Crossing brought us here to the New World, but the promise of adventure will keep us here for a lifetime!

Every one hundred years, we stand witness to another crossing, one of cosmological proportions. Prismata's Comet, a shining star that streaks across the sky for weeks on end. Whenever it passes, it imparts on us a beautiful once-in-a-lifetime display: a shower of starlight that rains down to the earth.

It has been a century since the comet's last visit, and this time, the Prismatic Starfall has left us with more than a light show. Reports from our field scouts verify that a meteor has crashed somewhere north of the Everstream, deeper into the New World than we've dared to travel...
Until now, get out there hunters!

Hello! I'm looking for players who are familiar with the Monster Hunter universe to play a story-driven roleplay set in Monster Hunter World's "New World" continent. While familiarity with MHW and MHW: Iceborn in particular aren't needed, a general understanding of how Monster Hunter games operate would be very useful. Of course there will be giant weapons and even bigger monsters!

MHW: Starfall will take from the MH games everything that makes for good roleplaying and world building, but we won't be taking any gritty gameplay mechanics such as weapon and armor stats, weapon sharpness, or inventory count. I want everyone to feel free to use any weapons and armor they want without it impeding the roleplay, so most of those choices will be flavor over function. Additionally, you can even play as a wyverian or lynian if you'd prefer instead of human.

OOC is here!
Once you're here, you're here forever, huh?
Hello again RPG! All my old friends haven't been online in years so I'm just gunna look around and hope for the best.
Hello!

After three years of just doing other things, I've decided to pop my head back into the Roleplayer Guild and am in need of new friends to play with!

I'm open to most rp ideas and am willing to play with anyone! There are fandom settings I'd be willing to play in if you want, and am accustomed to both rules/system based roleplaying like D&D, and free-form roleplaying. I can adjust my writing level to fit your preferences, but I otherwise will tend towards Casual level- consistent grammar and strong vocabulary. However, quality > quantity means that a one line response is just as valid as several paragraphs, depending on the context (usually in back-and-forth dialogue). I'm also willing and able to play multiple characters and the world/setting depending on what we come up with. I would prefer to play in PMs but I'm not against playing on the forum. In the case of smut/18+ themes and roleplays, I prefer MxF only. Sorry in advance.

Here's some other quick-stats and specifics:

- Experienced with D&D and other tabletops since 2012 (both DM and player)
- Tags in the genre category are all optional, we can use as many or as little as you want. Willing to discuss other themes too
- Prefer to play male characters but can play female/other as well
- I have a fleshed-out medieval fantasy setting we can play in
- Also happy to brew a completely original setting
- 18+ is by no means required, but is definitely on the table too

Here are the fandoms I'm familiar enough with to rp in:
*Also ask about other fandoms you like, as I might have missed some.

Bloodbourne
Dark Souls
Dead Cells
Death Note
Destiny
The Elder Scrolls
Fire Emblem (notably 7, 8, 13)
Gauntlet
Left 4 Dead
The Legend of Zelda
Magic the Gathering
Mirai Nikki (Future Diary)
Monster Hunter
Pokémon (Gen 1~4)
Risk of Rain
Titanfall (Not Apex)

Feel free to PM me or just reply here if you're interested!
Hey, hopefully there's some room left, I've been itching for a good tabletop rp. I've never played 5e but I've got a lot of experience playing and GM'ing for Pathfinder so I think I can pick it up quickly.

>1. Discord or no for conversations that don't require a lot of extra writing between naritive?
I've played both ways to great lengths and enjoyed each. I have no preference.

>2. Space and aliens sci-f, High Fantasy world wide adventure, or horror, death, and suspense?
High-fantasy will always be my favorite but I think that a setting and campaign that the GM is passionate about usually ends up better than one suited to the players' wants.

>3. Preferences of Combat, Exploration, Role-playing, Moral Dilimas, Puzzle/Traps, Crime, Murder Hoboing, Meta-Gameing, Power Gaming, Politics, and War/Nations. Just list your favorite 3 or 4, and maybe give me some insight as to why.
I'd definitely love to see creative challenges that depend on role-playing/acting, critical thinking, and tough mortal choices way more than inflated challenge ratings and dice throwing contests. I love building a strong character for combat as much as anyone else but having tough challenges outside of combat is where tabletop games can really shine, since there's no game engine to limit us.

>4. How active do you like NPCs to be? Do you like having them in the party or at least strong enough to survive following the party, or do you prefer them to stay on the side lines so the PCs can enjoy all glory? Maybe a mix? Why?
I know a lot of my answers so far have been "no preference / whatever you want" but I really do feel like playing in a world where things function the way the GM designed it to makes the experience live and breathe better. Most campaigns aren't super small in their settings, so a wide range of different NPC's would make the world more believable.

>5. Bigger or smaller groups?
Small groups give each player more time to take the spotlight and have their fun. If a lot of people are playing, then making multiple 3~4 player groups will run much better than one mega group. Letting these parties meet and interact will also be an interesting dynamic if it happens.

>6. Homebrew cool?
Talking from experience, there's a lot of work that needs to be done to make sure homebrewed content is fun and balanced. It's certainly a lot of fun when done right, but I've seen campaigns and playgroups fall apart because people either dont see eye-to-eye or the made up content is way too strong.
If I can substitute the hat roll with a wizard's hat, then you've got yourself a 3rd bear.
Title says it all. Just looking for someone to play with in PMs. Just shoot me an idea, as detailed or simple as you want, and we'll go from there. I'm also able to play over discord (text or voice) if that's something you'd rather do.

In case you want to know:
- Male, 24
- High Casual normally, will adapt to your level.
- Almost always plays male characters.
- Comfortable with 18+ content, Safe-For-Work content, and anywhere in between.

My favorite genres are:
- Horror
- Tabletop
- Fantasy
- Sci-fi
- Apocalyptic/Post
- Medieval

My fandoms are rather limited, having only familiarity in gaming. Off the top of my head, these include:
- Fire Emblem
- Magic the Gathering
- Dark Souls
- Elder Scrolls
- Monster Hunter
- Destiny
- Titanfall

Again, I'm pretty flexible, so don't be afraid to ask about things I didn't list. I'd rather be PMed instead of replying here, thanks!
Sounds pretty cool, are Path of War classes legal? I've been itching for an excuse to play Mystic. If not, I'll probably run a Magus.
