I honestly recommend the alternative. We are still very far off of getting to season 2, at least if you hop into the game now, you can establish your character for the next arc in season 2.
I'll keep that in mind. But I don't have any solid character ideas at the moment.

I just don't think it makes sense to get set up if you're going to migrate threads in the near future.
I think at this point I'm going to hold off on applying until the Season 2 thread is open.

One way I usually do it is by looking at the active PCs' CS. It really does tell you a lot about the players, their work and if the rp is sometimes work looking into. Also, you can with us over the OoC and see how well you mesh with us.
If not, it at least passes the time and always fun to get to know new people right? ^-^
