"The Bat is dead." The hoarse voice stated, stepping forward into the light, and looking towards the shadowy perches above.

"And what of the body, where is our trophy?" The host of voices above answered in a hissed whisper.

"My apologies to the Head Speaker and the rest of the Parliament, but I'm afraid I was intercepted. As our secret remains the Court's highest priority, I felt it my duty to abandon the body to the interlopers than risk overwhelming odds that could expose us."

"The Bat had never been so careless in the past. Killed by a Talon and tailed by another. Are you so sure you killed him?"

"I watched the light go out of his eyes myself."

"And the interlopers?

"They were of a government agency, I believe it was S.W.O.R.D., it's an acronym I'm familiar with."

"Our trophy is then beyond your reach." The Head Speaker replied, "But it is not beyond the reach of this Parliament. We will have our trophy in due time."

"You've done well my Talon, but the work is not yet done."

"The Gray Son still stands in our way." The speaker reprimanded the eager speaker. "Along with the other allies of the Bat."

Since I'm at work I won't be able to say much right now but I did want to pop in and announce my interest. I haven't been able to dig through the OOC so I don't know if anyone has claimed either Ghost Rider, Bruce Banner, or the X-men? I want to mash some DC influences with one of these buy want to scope out my options first.

There is a Ghost Rider but on a different Earth.

The Bat-Family:
-The first side-kick, Jason Todd: The one Bruce was never a father to.
Bruce never wanted a sidekick, but when he came across a brazen young boy attempting to steal the wheels off the Batmobile, he was impressed and wanted to hone that energy into a force for good. But Jason never saw Bruce as more than a means to the end and that, coupled with his arrogance ultimately cost Jason his life. Know as the Talon, Jason was killed by the Joker, though his body was never recovered.

-The first Robin, Dick Grayson: The favourite son.
In Dick, Bruce saw himself and sought to make a better Batman. After the death of his family, Bruce took in the kindred Dick Grayson and offered him a way to find peace. Dick's flair for the theatrical lent itself naturally to the role of Gotham's protector and Dick soon adopted the alias of Robin after the Merryman of Sherwood Forest.

THE BATMAN IS DEAD. LONG LIVE THE BATMAN. Following the death of Bruce Wayne, his adopted son and former ward and first Robin, Richard 'Dick' Grayson has assumed the responsibilities and roles of his mentor. This includes the day-to-day operations at Wayne Enterprises, his accounts and vast fortune, but most importantly the role of Gotham's Dark Knight. Trained from the age of twelve, Dick Grayson has been prepared almost his whole life to step out of his mentor's shadow and don the cowl of the Bat. Along the way, he's known as the Boy Wonder, Robin and the Bright Knight of Blüdhaven, Nightwing. Along the way, Dick has tangled with numerous members of Bruce's rogue gallery and even built a collection of his own. P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) ________________________________________________________________________________________ As most of you know, Dick Grayson is my favourite character in all of comics and I often like to portray him in these games. Given the premise of this game, I thought it'd be fun to portray a Dick Grayson who has been forced to put his life on hold to preserve the legacy of his father, Bruce Wayne. Ideally, this will give me an avenue to show a Dick Grayson struggling with self-identity, legacy and duty all the while fighting the usual evils that lurk within Gotham's walls. A character open to collaborating with other players for team ups and guest appearances, I want to build on the mythos of the Batman, with Bruce having operated for a number of years prior to the modern era, albeit fairly independently and free of teams and other obligations outside of the Bat-Family. In terms of Bat-Family characters, I'm setting the stage with Bruce's death, the circumstances and cause of which will be kept ambiguous in line with the 'Secret Invasion' premise until later. I S S U E # X X HEAVY IS THE HEAD Seeing RICHARD GRAYSON as an inadequate heir to Batman's Mission and scorned that the late Dark Knight did not pass the cowl to him, JEAN-PAUL VALLEY, the current AZRAEL has decided to begin a new Crusade in Gotham, aiming to usurp the role of Batman from under the former Flying Grayson. Characters Involved: Batman, The Order of St. Dumas, Azrael Desired # of Players: N/A I S S U E # X X BEWARE THE COURT OF OWLS Not one to sit idly by, THE COURT OF OWLS has revealed themselves, attempting to turn the lost Gray Son of Gotham to their side and offering aid in the Batman's ongoing war with the ORDER OF ST. DUMAS. Characters Involved: Batman, Talons, William Cobb, The Court of Owls Desired # of Players: N/A I S S U E # X X WHAT CAN DR. Q DO FOR YOU? Still reeling from the aftermath of the Court's attack on Gotham, a breakout at BLACKGATE PENTITIARY leads to the escape of HARLEY QUINN. Now operating solo, Harley's begun claiming a stake for herself in a Gotham absent of the JOKER. Characters Involved: Batman, Harley Quinn Desired # of Players: N/A
