The worst thing about mental illness is you have to look after yourself a disgusting amount. I know it's the only way to actually be in a fit state to look out for others, but it still feels wrong.

Judging by the Internet's definitions of introversion and extraversion, you'd think everyone's either an extreme hermit or a party animal with no in between.

Bio

A frazzled British thirtysomething cat mum with something of a tea addiction.

I like a wide range of RP genres, but have two absolute favourites: Pokemon and magical girls. (If someone manages to combine the two, I'll be VERY happy!) I post fairly regularly, but sometimes shit mental health days crop up - if that causes any delays, I'll try to resume posting ASAP.

@Noxx What's Nyxx going to do? Does she want to train her Pokemon up a bit, or catch a new one?

Edit: Wow, if anyone's going to win the gym battle on their first try, it'll be Nyxx with that Jolteon.

@Dusksong

The only light, besides that of the moon, came from Ella's Pokedex. She'd given up trying to sleep, instead deciding to look up information about the town she and Leisy would be staying in for a while.

"Hey, Brighteye, come on out," she said, letting out her new Ghost type, the room lighting up further as the scarlet eye cast a red tinge over everything. She knew most people didn't find the presence of a ghost comforting, but that was no reason she couldn't.

"Hmmm..." She frowned as she read over the text. "Apparently nightmares are a common thing here..." She read on. It seemed the residents of Stillwater believed legendary Pokemon gave people the dreams they deserved. Had she done something wrong? Was it because she hadn't yet succeeded in helping Vivian and her family?

"I'll get stronger," she said to Brighteye. "I have to. There's someone who needs me to."

@Zarkun Yay! The more missions, the better. Looking forward to seeing what you've got planned!
@Zarkun So, where to next? Tefan, to get Dragon types? Zephyr, to help deal with an out-of-control Porygon Z? Stillwater, to meet Olivie again and possibly do the Bad Dreams mission?

It's your call, just throwing suggestions out there. I'm alright with any location.
@Zarkun @Dusksong Cici will, though, after what happened. I was planning for her to join that guild, but needed something to prompt her to do so.

@Balthazar007 While we're on the subject of organisations, I'm working on a researcher guild. Should I wait until professor labs are a feature, or is this something I can post up within the next few days?

Also, what are the guidelines for organisations?
@Balthazar007 Ooh, sounds interesting! And I'm definitely on 46 CP now, right? (-7 for new mission).

How's new content going to work, though, seeing as it gets added to this RP all the time? I guess both RPs could be updated with new locations, and we could discuss which organisations still exist / which ones have changed.

@Dusksong Talking of organisations, what with recent events, the Helping Hand Guild could have a new member soon...

Murky black water crashed at the shore, hissing with foam. Wind and rain stinging her face as she stood on the empty beach, Ella watched in horror as two figures surfaced, calling for help before the waves swallowed them up.

"Vee-Vee! Leisy!" She rushed forward, wading into the freezing sea. "I'll get you out!" The trainer swam with all her strength, but there was no sign of either of her friends.

She shrieked, her mouth filling with salt water, as the cold intensified. Her limbs became numb and heavy, refusing to move. Slowly, all around her, the water turned into a shadowy substance that dragged her further and further down.

All she could see through the blackness was a glaring blue light. An eye.

"You said you'd get us out!" came Vivian's distant voice. "I trusted you! I guess you really can't do anything right!"

Ella struggled, trying to call for her friends again, but no sound came out.

...

With a yelp, the trainer awoke. Her breath came in gasps as she sat up, taking in her dimly-lit surroundings.

Another nightmare. It had just been another nightmare, like she'd had every night since starting her journey - but this one had been the most vivid of all.

She settled back down against the lumpy straw mattress, every nerve on edge. Hours passed, and sleep still eluded her.

Cici cringed. She didn't remember saying any of it, but it sounded just like the thoughts that had been creeping into her head all day before the enchantment had taken over. "Wow, that spell really did make me talk complete Tauros crap," she said, still trying to cover it up. She didn't want to burden Tommy with her problems, or make him think he had some kind of duty to stay by her side.

"But thanks," she continued with a smile. "I can promise you too, I'll do the same. I'll help however I can."

She eased herself up. "Well, it's about time we got some rest. See you tomorrow morning. Or afternoon." With that, she stumbled back to her room, slumping onto the bed still in her filthy clothes and drifting into a much-needed sleep.

@Heckno12 The attracting Pokemon with food thing was in no way stolen from Reborn *shifty eyes*

@fer1323 I'll wait until you post before doing the gym battle.
Amber Pine

Outside Mesalon Pokecentre

@fer1323 @Noxx

"Ok, see you two later," Amber called to Oscar and Solanna, leaving with Nyxx. She smiled slightly at the feel of the cool air against her face. This peaceful little town would give the group a much-needed chance to relax - and for Amber, the best way to relax was to study Pokemon.

"Seems like most wild Pokemon here will be found in the caves. Though first, maybe we should stop by the mart for some potions..." She trailed off as something caught her attention. A flock of Fletchlings stood perched on a roof, their combined melodious chirps sounding more like an actual song than a mere series of cries.

"Is it alright if I just quickly record this?" Amber asked Nyxx. "It won't take long. This might provide insight into how they communicate." Sitting on a bench, she dug out her Pokegear and set up the camera function.

Chal let out a mildly exasperated "Kabu-to." Trust Amber to get sidetracked. Noticing something his trainer hadn't, he gave a harsher, warning cry. Aeshna darted over, hovering next to Amber.

The researcher stopped filming, glancing over in surprise to see a small, grey-brown dog sniffing and nipping at one of the pockets of her bag. It could obviously smell Pokefood. "Nice try, but that's not yours," Amber told it. The Pokemon backed away with a whimper, its blue eyes wide.

"Ruff! Rockruff!" it whined.

That was when Amber saw just how skinny this Rockruff was, its ribs showing. Was this an abandoned stray? "Ohh! I'm sorry. Here, you could do with a good meal." Amber gave it some of the Pokefood, which it gobbled down. Giving a happy yip, it put its front paws back up on the bench.

"Well, I've fed you, so I guess that's it," Amber said with a soft laugh. "You've adopted me, haven't you?" The Rockruff yipped again, playfully headbutting Amber's hand.

"There's just one thing to do now, huh?" She petted the stray and took an empty Pokeball from her belt. The Rockruff pressed it with its nose, disappearing inside the capsule.

Amber checked the newly-added information on her Pokedex. Rockruff, level 9, female. "Kyra," she said, holding the Pokeball. "I'll call you Kyra." The name had two meanings. It could mean sun, or it could mean dark. Whichever way the Rockruff evolved later on, the name would fit.

Sophia Danvers

Mesalon Gym

@Heckno12 @OtomostheCrazy @AbysmalDemon @Dusksong

As her footsteps echoed, Sophia felt oddly small inside the huge building. Was she taking on too much? No, of course she wasn't. Before the morning was out, she'd prove her worth as a trainer.

There was just something she needed to do first.

Still in the front room, outside the arena, she crouched down and let out her Pokemon. Alexis' reappearance had reminded Sophia how badly Gothita had reacted after snapping out of that berserk state, and then there had been that fight they'd all ended up involved in. If her Pokemon didn't want to battle just yet, she'd wait. She'd prove herself later.

"Are you all up for a gym battle?" she asked. "I know yesterday was rough, to put it mildly. So I'll only do this if you're ok with it."

Gothita and Purrloin nodded, while Staryu gave a "Hyah!" of agreement, its core brightening.

"Ok then! Let's show everyone how a gym challenge is done!" Standing up, Sophia returned all three Pokemon and, with a proud grin, strode into the arena.
