Bio

Current GM of World of Light. When it comes to writing, there's nothing I love more than imagination, engagement, and commitment. I'm always open to talk, suggestion, criticism, and collaboration. While I try to be as obliging, helpful, and courteous as possible, I have very little sympathy for ghosts, and anyone who'd like to string me along. Straightforwardness is all I ask for.

Looking for more personal details? I'm just some dude from the American south; software development is my job but games, writing, and trying to help others enjoy life are my passions. Been RPing for over a decade, starting waaaay back with humble beginnings on the Spore forum, so I know a thing or two, though I won't pretend to be an expert. If you're down for some fun, let's make something spectacular together.

Having both meister and wielder mandatory seems like a stroke of genius to me. While having two players coordinate each half of a pair is good in theory, it would involve way too much coordination for many things, mostly fights. That begs not only the question of players being left out, but players dropping out being utterly blueballed. Plus, being able to make a duo guarantees that we'll always have something to write about. Two characters bound to interact together means nobody will lack material. Plus, it opens the way for great pair dynamics.
To be fair I wouldn't think Isla above lying about the whole thing. Maybe its where as long as she puts a way out in the painting then you can escape?

That doesn't address the problem of painting destruction, and even if it did, it's only one facet of the situation I find a problem with.
@LugubriousOh, hey Lu! Didn't think I'd see you over here. Oh well, welcome!

Hm? Why's that?
What? Since when can Isla enter her own paintings and use them as a travel medium? If she somehow put herself into a painting (the spell reads 'The user slams a canvas onto the opponent their head and the opponent will find themselves in the canvas' by the way) wouldn't she kill herself if she destroyed it? When Indigo found Ike's painting, Isla said that destroying the painting would harm Ike, right?

I find it to be dubious that Isla exhibits the power of paint-traveling even though it's not mentioned in her sheet when it seems convenient. Even if the plot justified it, wouldn't it be better to get her involvement with Frenzy Plant finished rather than put off? I was thinking that if she apologized to the members and cooperated, Sanders would probably let her off easy.
Hm, I like Soul Eater. I'll keep an eye on this too.
Ugh, I really don't want to type up all that I wrote for my post last night again. =_= Would anyone object to me just doing a quick time skip of Nolan collecting the lacrima for the sake of my sanity?

I don't care really, most people just put a couple sentences in for each lacrima, which is barely more effort. As long as you don't forget who's in front of the Doma Flau's entrance. It might be worth noting that at this point Indigo thinks Damian did it.
@Lugubrious
Problem?

It's that, a brand-new RP in which no people post for four days and then requires a timeskip to have something happen usually isn't a good sign for longevity.
Argh.
I'll be keeping an eye on this.
Jane Putcher – Frenzy Camp

The sight of Argus high in the air, holding both Isla and Ike however counter-intuitively, spurred Jane on to the realization that it would not be advisable to underestimate the demon again. She whistled, long and low, in acknowledgment of the troublemaker's ability, and backpedaled quickly to avoid Mehrune's Chain. Pulling the lever to reload her Privateer, she leveled the barrel at Argus even before he began to speak, but -in an effort to avoid ignoring her training- kept her fingers off the trigger. When he spoke, she smirked. ”Yeah. Indigo hobbled her fer her evil-doin'. Yer on the wrong side o' this fight, Argus, and if ya don't stand down this instant, I'm allowed to exact punishment 'ere an' now.”

A contemptuous grimace settled over her face when Isla foolishly attempted to talk her way out of the bed she'd made. Honestly, Jane had half a mind to let Ike go nuts for a few moments to see how far he got. Her sympathies with him lessened, however, when he turned her rage on her. ”I'm sorry that you've suffered, but I can't let anyone die on me watch. If you can't figure out who's a bucko and who's an enemy, I'm takin' you down too.” With a steady hand she shifted her aim toward Ike, only to retreat another few steps to escape his Ebony Starfall. Though forced out of position, she continued to smile, for such a visible display of magic would serve well as the catalyst for Frenzy Plant doing what it did best.

Jane opted to observe cautiously as Argus took action. He intercepted the spear with disturbing ease, but seemed to catch himself shortly after. Meanwhile Gabriel appeared on the scene. Leaning toward him, Jane cautioned, ”This fight won't end in words.” A blur of motion on the edge of her vision caught her attention. ”Here we go.”

The stinging thrust attack of Argus came to an abrupt halt as the blur appeared in front of him, resolving itself to be the southern swordsman, Owen. Into the path of the lightning-infused Crimson Nightmare Owen interceded his shield, taking the full force of the attack. A bellow of pain escaped Owen's mouth as the lightning surged through him, his muscles twitching violently. When it ended a moment later, steam rose from his clothes, and he sank to a knee.

Meanwhile, everyone else had arrived on the scene. Along with Isla, Argus, Ike, Jane, Gabriel, and now Owen, there stood nearby the northerner Joakim Fortinbras, the glazier Ange Bolganone, the archeress Leixia Wuiwomi, and the beastrider Chester Graham. Jane smiled, changed her current ammo type to Scatter Arrows, and called, ”In t' name o' General Sanders
here's one final chance t' stand down! Soldiers, ready aim!”

Joakim pointed his ribcage staff forward, a cold star within the cage's heart beating an ominous hymn of winter. Ange held up her wand, and it danced with sparkling light ready to make glass. Leixia, as might be expected, nocked an arrow and prepared to let fly at Argus. Chester, meanwhile, held something that looked suspiciously like a custom blunderbuss. Jane took aim with her Privateer once again, and Owen managed after a heroic struggle to get to his feet. He lurched a few feet away, keeping his eyes forward and rapier up the whole time. Now, around Ike and Argus in a ring were seven Frenzy Plant soldiers. They ignored Isla, who sat outside the perimeter.

Someone as standoff-savvy as a former pirate did not, however, wait for the situation to erupt. ”Makers, give them some time t' cool off! Now!”

At once, both B-rank soldiers let loose. A wave of ice spewed forth from Joakim's staff, and from Ange's wand came an outpouring of glittering particles. In only a moment, they would stop both miscreants cold in a dual coating of glass and ice. If they jumped, however, Jane's revolver cannon already faced upward, ready to discharge far more lethal Scatter Arrows into any airborne targets.
