Bio

Current GM of World of Light. When it comes to writing, there's nothing I love more than imagination, engagement, and commitment. I'm always open to talk, suggestion, criticism, and collaboration. While I try to be as obliging, helpful, and courteous as possible, I have very little sympathy for ghosts, and anyone who'd like to string me along. Straightforwardness is all I ask for.

Looking for more personal details? I'm just some dude from the American south; software development is my job but games, writing, and trying to help others enjoy life are my passions. Been RPing for over a decade, starting waaaay back with humble beginnings on the Spore forum, so I know a thing or two, though I won't pretend to be an expert. If you're down for some fun, let's make something spectacular together.

I'm not even going to ask about my writing. I know I suck. xD

Tell yourself that, and you will. You must have some pride in yourself in order to improve.

You write compellingly. There's seldom a dull moment, with the unique characters you've introduced. One reason our various characters seem to interact so often is because I enjoy playing with you--we enhance one anothers' characters via their interaction. It's never just filler with you, and that is admirable.

If I had one criticism, it would be not posting with Enma or doing the super-secret-plot-thingy related to him yet.

Oh, and @Everyone, it might be a bit early, but there's going to be a pretty awesome plot thingy happening with Frenzy Plant immediately post-timeskip. Will definitely be a good time. As always, I'd be happy to see more characters in my guild.
How's everyone doing? Personally, even though I've been ill, I'm still hyped for what Pyro has planned for this RP!
As long as everyone's asking, how's my writing?

Burth's the only one asking, but I have no complaints about your writing either. You characterize decently well, with enough detail, strong verbs, and varied sentence structure to keep it interesting, and you clearly pay attention to your grammar, punctuation, capitalization, and spelling. You sometimes switch between past tense and present tense for no immediately obvious reason, which can be somewhat jolting, and you still use a bunch of passive verbs that could be changed into anything more interesting without too much difficulty. All in all, you're a good Casual writer. Fun to RP with and exhibiting competence, but perhaps in need of more editing to make sure everything's the best it could be.
@Lugubrious

While you're on the subject of examining characters, I'm curios as to how mine come across.

Mostly as to what their personality seems to be, as that's kinda the more important part.

I have no complaints so far. I've only really interacted with Mark, who seems rather normal and decent despite his guild, and Grant, who is about as evil as I imagine you intend him to be.
Integrity, a characteristic necessary for good leaders, is the ability to continue to do what's right when nobody's watching.

Woah hold your horse there bucko. I certainly wasn't thinking anything sexual when I bite peoples hands, and considering that people bite as an attack in good ol anime logic. I saw it as nothing more than a humor laugh it off situation, not "oh kinky;)" Yet if peoples first instinct was to treat it as a sexual situation then thats kind of sad. Mostly if they read they would see they are currently annoyed by each other.

I only brought up the kinky bit saying that it was a possible interpretation that I didn't think was the case. My first guess was the correct one: that they're childish. Just so you know, there's a world of difference between the opposite of serious and the opposite of mature.
@Crimson Raven why act as if you're so above it all? You've posted about as much trivial nonsense in the last half hour than everyone combined.

I don't care

You cover my mouth I'll bite you. Simple as that.

I wasn't talking about you, I was talking about your character. I assume that Carrie was molded after your own personality, then? That's an interesting way to go that I had not considered.

On a more general note, personally, if someone were to touch my face, I would punch their throat, not waste time with a toddler's method of self-defense. Really, though, it takes an enormous and intentional lack of awareness of personal space to touch someone else's face. Friends typically know not to do this--at least, mine don't. Do any of you have friends who touch your faces regularly? Perhaps it's a cultural thing.
That stuff has nothing to do with my comment except for a single word, so I'll just say:

Anime is never not weird. I thought Pokemon was kid-friendly when I watched it. But it was an anime all the same.

As unconstrained as she felt in the air, Clotho could not help but feel ever so slightly ill at ease as she lofted far above the orc settlement. Not only did the savages never casually look upward, but they also sported no visible sentries whose jobs it might be to compensate for this oblivious tendency. For a troupe of mongrels neither stealthy nor subtle, the orcs appeared to be awfully comfortable out in the open like this, at least compared to human armies. Logically, this was some sort of flaw of the species, but Clotho decided not to make any definite assumptions just yet.

Far below, things began to heat up in the camp. Threats spewed, tempers flared, and melee ensued. The Swarm Queen, witnessing this display, cringed. To her, or indeed any commander worthy of being called such, self-destructive behavior like this constituted one of the gravest offenses a soldier could make. She

More disturbing, however, was the event that followed. A surge of brightness and color caught her attention, drawing her eyes to a tent reduced to cinders. Clotho’s eyes widened; such instant immolation could be the work of none other but Torrens, but why would the demon compromise the scouts’ stealth so recklessly? Looking back and forth, she saw nothing that warranted an attack, and only grew more dismayed to see Torrens and Faeles engaging the foe. A furious despair pricked her. The Overlord expressly assigned a scouting mission, not some mindless attack that could lead to the discovery of the entire Horde. Incredulous, Clotho scanned the ground again, and found nothing to explain her allies’ folly. Sure, D’Artagnan had snuck his way into the camp’s interior, but took no further action. Her mind raced to find a way to solve this problem, but only a few seconds later, Torrens had exposed himself. The lips of the Swarm Queen curled into a disdainful grimace. There would be no easy solution to this mess.

From what she could see from her bird’s-eye view, however, Faeles and D’Artagnan had yet to show themselves. The essence of a plan popped into Clotho’s mind, one that hinged on nigh-impossible speed and precision to pull off. Folding in her wings, she began to dive, assuming a streamlined posture to shoot, bulletlike, toward the ground. In the gathering gloom, she would be difficult to spot, especially with a smelter demon practically prostrating himself before them. Now that the hothead is fighting, this entire operation can end only one of three ways: the camp is destroyed, or Torrens is, or Torrens and the rest of us are. Better a single soldier lost than an army detected. Clotho carefully unfurled her wings, spreading them to glide, and she swooped over the camp in a preconceived path. First she landed next to D’Artagnan, braking painfully hard and pressing herself against the ground to avoid detection. ”Do not engage the enemy. Torrens has picked a rash fight; we cannot avoid risking the Horde by revealing ourselves as well.” Clotho then rolled to her feet, crouched, and sprang directly up. She twisted around and darted toward the position of Faeles, using as circuitous a route as possible to remain out of sight. When she appeared by his side, she hissed, "D'Artagnan is still hidden. Everything was fine. Torrens is fighting, and you are engaging, for what reason exactly?" She then remained crouched next to him rather than fleeing again.

Type: Collaborative Canon Creation Contest

Deadline: February 1st

No, it's not what you're thinking. This time, this contest has a special purpose. Now, we may never get to the Vytal Festival in this RP, and that's fine. But on the off-chance we do, I want us to be prepared. Naturally, Vale can bring only four full teams to represent it in the tournament, and there are a ton of students attending Beacon. So what's an academy to do? Why, a mock tournament that acts as the qualifier for the teams that are going to attend the Festival! And all seven of our teams will be attempting to qualify. If we get there, of course. If not, this contest is just for credits.

How does this relate to you? Well, it's our characters' jobs to thin the herd, and you guys are making the herd. Your task is to work with the other three people in your team to make an enemy team of Beacon students. These foes are hunters in training just like you, and can be from anywhere on Remnant as long as they're in Beacon now and will represent it. Now, the only requirements of this team:
1. It needs to be made by your team, not the specific players. Each person can do one, one hero can do all four, or anything in between. But remember: teamwork makes the dreamwork.
2. It needs to have a theme that binds the team. This theme can be basically anything, but it has to be wide enough to inspire four different interpretations of this. Examples provided by the show include: fairy tale characters, deserts, birds, legendary heroes who journied, legendary heroes who crossdressed, and characters from the Wizard of Oz.
3. Each character must have one element of their name, either last or first, that is a color (whether in English or not), sounds like a color, means a color, or is evocative of a color
4. Don't go ham with those keys. The purpose of this game is not to create incredibly deep, well-written characters; we're making people to fight. Interesting and weapons, semblances, personalities, and visuals are the aim of the game. Not even the most complicated sections require more than a short paragraph

The way credits will be awarded is simple. A single credit will be awarded for each completed character to the team that spawned it, giving each team four credits that can be distributed freely amongst its members. However, once the deadline hits, there will be a couple of days in which everyone will be able to vote on a strawpoll between the brand-new teams, based on how much each of you like the completed teams. The team that gets the most votes will receive an additional four credits to be distributed freely.

Do none of the people in your team want to participate, or is there only one or two who would be burgeoned by the work? Don't worry about it; participation is not mandatory.

Have fun, and be creative! And use this template!
