Powers: Invulnerability, Super Strength, Enhanced Speed, Enhanced Senses (Ultraviolet Light, Hearing akin to an Owl), Higher Stamina (Needs to eat and sleep less), (Unknown to Her: Continuously draws small amounts of mana/magical energy from her surroundings)

Limitations: Despite being invulnerable, she feels varying degrees of pain, meaning she will still try and avoid being hit if possible - and there is a limit. While bullets give her minor bruises, things such as prolonged electrical current, extreme heat or cold, or explosions would still harm her (though to a lesser degree). Super Strength is also limited this way in that hitting steel hurts while breaking wood does not (or very little). Her speed is only limited to roughly 50 mph. As for her senses, they can be overwhelmed like anyone else on the planet - bursts of ultraviolet rays that most people cannot see are especially effective.

Skills/Talents: Before her superhero life, she was good with numbers and responsible financial management, however she didn't hold a job and learn odd bits of information regarding interests (like superhero comics, fantasy reading). She is able to retain things that interest her very well though.

Background/bio: Sophia grew up mostly alone besides the maids, nanny, and butlers. Her family was rich but very neglectful, often leaving her with a feeling of being alone. The servants never really, genuinely got close to her, so she had a childhood filled with video games, fantasy books, and comic books so she could escape into another life. As she grew up into a teenager, she became a bit of a rebel, though it wasn't to go to parties and the like, but rather becoming uncaring for school and more involved in her 'fantasy life'. By the time she was 22, she had dreams of exploring the world and maybe meeting a superhero in person and began to travel on her own - with parents that still didn't seem to care.

By the time she was 26, she had been to Korea, Canada, Germany, and found her latest stop in Scotland where she wanted to visit all the old castles. One fateful trip she had found herself wandering the halls away from the tourists, wanting to see what the ruins held for herself. She stopped by an old gate that seemed locked and behind it was a garden. Not thinking of the consequences, she found a rock and broke open the gate, but to her surprise the garden changed into some sort of engine room. She marveled at what she had found and in her excitement, she darted in with a smile only to hear a female voice announce the words, "core is critical, core is critical - scanning for new vessel - scan number 2,456,543 in progress". While many thoughts crossed her mind, she had no time to back out before the room was flooded with a red beam followed by, "replacement vessel found. Injecting core."

Whatever happened to her, it was like a pain she had never felt before in her life. It was so intense that she just barely remembers the room growing dark before she passed out onto the floor. By the time she woke up, it was clearly night - long past time for any tourist groups and it was obvious she had been somewhere that no one had been before. As Sophia stumbled out of the castle ruins, she could almost 'feel' the world around her buzzing with energy - the night sky, the moon - everything seemed so clear and sharp. As she came to terms with her new powers, she knew she always daydreamed of being a superhero...

Hello fellow travelers. It's been a while since I've been around and have that all familiar pull to roleplay and create stories with others again. For this particular interest check, I am asking for help. Due to some of my unique hurdles (which I'll explain further down if you want to know), I have had limited success in GMing a successful roleplay while at the same time, I am having trouble finding a roleplay that I feel I would do well in. That's where you come in! If you decide to read everything and know of a roleplay that might suit me well or you're willing to GM a roleplay for me (or others if you want - I'm not against group roleplays in the least), please reply here or DM me if that's more comfortable. • Genres & Themes: I am currently seeking a roleplay where I can roleplay a character that helps me feel empowered. I personally tend to use roleplay as a sort of self therapy. So I will generally want a place where I can feel my character has some measure of power or control over what's going on while being supported.
  
  • Fantasy: Anything from the traditional fantasy with medium or high magic to steampunk-like worlds. I do adore airships.
  • Superhero: Especially in line with the empowerment I'm seeking, this is a great setting to pursue and I've always been a sucker for superhero shows and movies.
  • Sci-Fi: Less so than fantasy, but I do enjoy a good sci-fi story for sure - especially when I can explore things like a world-wide net, threatening the entire galaxy, or AIs.

For those wondering what may have sparked this strange request or want to know more about my unique challenges, this is where I'll speak about them and I'm okay being vulnerable about who I am. I am autistic and so one of my rather big disadvantages is that social norms don't make a lot of sense to me (such as, "perception is everything" has never made any sense to me) and I tend to use language a bit more literally than others so some metaphors are also lost on me. Mind you, I love who I am, but like everyone else I have my strengths and weaknesses. Another part is that I am diagnosed with PTSD, Generalized Anxiety, and Persistent Depressive Disorder and happen to be on disability because I need a caregiver to help me with certain tasks in my life. Roleplaying helps me work through and experience things I could not in my real life. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

⋆ Behavior towards others is: Introverted - she tends to use downtime to find a place to think and ponder on life, read a book, or watch people walk by. She is approachable though and doesn’t have much resistance to socializing with others. Though she doesn’t often seek out others to do so, unless she feels there is a purpose to talking with them.
⋆ Where on the spectrum of selfish to selfless: Morgan has learned through trials in her life the importance of self-care with the idea of, “if you can’t take care of yourself, you’ll eventually break taking care of others”. However if she senses a genuine cry for help and is capable of helping, she has little reservations in doing so or otherwise help problem-solve.
⋆ Where on the spectrum of kind to mean: Morgan is often much kinder than she is mean, but when sensing someone who is bullying another, her voice and attitude can get much sharper.
⋆ Lengths she will go to save or protect others versus herself: Once, she pushed a child out of the way of a car and broke her ribs against the front of it. She has never forgotten it and has thought about it a lot - she has come to realize that staying alive is important to help more people, so there is some caution in putting herself in danger, but isn’t against it.

⋆ Calm: She does have a particular talent of being objective in most given situations, but it doesn’t make her emotionless.
⋆ Patient: In most situations, though it thins when facing bullies or manipulators of others or herself. As anyone, she has her limit, but it’s generally noticeably higher than most.
⋆ Brave: Though she doesn’t consider herself foolhardy and when time permits, tries to access any situation the best she can - but she’s no stranger to standing up to bullies.
⋆ Anxiety: She does get nervous, even when standing up to someone that in the end, is a coward. She gets at least a little nervous every time but has practiced pushing past it.
⋆ Reaction speeds to situations: Average - though mentally she can catch on quickly, it also takes her some time to decide on the best course of action. Things she has experience reacting to, above average.

History
Born as a late child, her sister was twelve, and her mother and father in their early thirties. They lived as lower middle class in a small town that isn’t worth any note. Unfortunately small towns aren’t keen on those who are different and especially those that are smarter and it wasn’t very long at all before Morgan was an outcast - the strange and weird one that asked “stupid” questions. Her whole childhood was full of neglect even from her own parents, believing half of what she talked about to be nonsense, but it’d only get worse before it got better. When her mother was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 35, Sarah (her sister, aged 16) started to take her anger out on little Morgan - bullying her and pushing her around to do things, regardless that Morgan hadn’t even gone to kindergarten yet. So her introduction into school and socializing with others wasn’t what you called completely healthy. As she went through the grades, she started to pick up reading fantasy books and tended to gravitate towards the stories where the hero fought against the darkness and won - surely a clear symbolism of her own desires.

When her mother passed four years later, Sarah left home, leaving Frank with Morgan. Her father was always distant, but was especially so after the passing of her mother, hardly caring where she went, who she saw, what she did which was usually just staying as late as possible at the library and then taking books up to her room - enthralled in her fantasy as a form of escape. Everything was this way for the next four years, but then something in Frank changed.

He started to take notice of Morgan, which to her was odd, but over a few months she had started to cheer up and get out of her shell a little more than before - it was the first time in her life she felt her father was there for her. It was anything but innocent however and when he started coming up to her room… she withdrew again. She had no support system, no friends, no mentors, and didn’t know what to do or how to leave and of course her sister didn’t want to hear anything about it. It took six long years - some better than others - to finally tear herself away from him. She tore herself from her whole family. They never believed her and if anyone did, they couldn’t do anything about it (or simply didn’t try hard enough) and she left the entire town one night without saying a word to anyone and has never seen her father or sister since.

It took years to even admit what happened to her and years more to seek out therapy and find ways to coop in healthy ways instead of going out of her way to find bullies, abusers, and people to defend when she lived so long unable to defend herself. Though she worked through it and was able to befriend others, to this day there are things she does that stems from that trauma, like swordplay.
