I suspect the interest check system would more useful if it was consolidated into one big infinite-scroll sort of feed that was optimized for filtering (tags, 1x1 vs group, free vs casual vs advanced, no filter at all, text search, etc). Subforums are a bit of a hack. I think more can be done.

I dunno if I like the idea of the Etherpad being RP-wide. I'd rather see integration into PM conversations.
I'm actually looking to generalize the Etherpad system so that you can create a pad and invite/kick people from the pad. Spinning up arbitrary pads and inviting friends and other interested players is how people seem to use Etherpad as is. I'm not very opinionated here. The reason why it's attached to a roleplay in the screenshot is because I came up with a straightforward task to see how flexible Etherpad was. But I do have a decent idea of what Etherpad is capable of now, and I got it running on another server.
If you are going to make it RP-wide, then a GM/Co-GM might have the ability to check off the following permissions: * GM only (Co-GM obviously can't set) * GM & Co-GM(s) * All RP participants (defined by posting in IC/Character thread to avoid casual OOC commenters) * All Guild members * Specific people (with textbox to enter comma-delimited usernames) That's a fair few permissions, but it should cover the wide range of needs. It could probably be paired down to remove GM-only and Specific people if feature creep avoidance kicks in.
Thanks for the brainstorm.

Made some progress on the Etherpad integration, mostly to see what the code would look like: Who should be able to edit the pad(s)? I suppose this might be where the "co-GM" concept makes sense. Need some general thoughts/advice on where to take it. At worst, it's just a chatbox with collaborative griefing.

[Latest Push]: Made an effort to improve some styling. Particularly with buttons and the editor. Here's what it's supposed to look like: Already notice some slight issues like the char-counter falling off the editor when you're editing a post. #willfix
I only change usernames under very specific circumstances. It breaks too many things like historical mentions and the links to user profiles. I'll PM you, @Frosty.

@Mahz, is the black border around the hiders normal when they're closed? Because when you click on them it goes away.
Nice catch! #willfix
@Mahz Could you perhaps clarify the download and install instructions on github? https://github.com/danneu/guild
Yeah, I could clarify them. Unfortunately I have no experience with webdev on Windows. You may have to google for resources on getting Node.js (v0.12) and Postgres (v9.4) set up on your machine. Setting up those dependencies is out of the scope of the guild's setup instructions. Can you get this far:
> node --version
v0.12.0

> psql -v
psql (PostgreSQL) 9.4.0
it seems long copy/paste Url's don't wrap around to fit the text box.
Nice one. #willfix I work during the week so during the week I'll accumulate a checklist of fixes and then burn through them on the weekend when I work on the guild.
Agreed. They're being delayed til I figure out how to do it performantly (i.e. my first attempt to add that feature back last month turned a 5ms query into a 500ms query).

Hey Mahz I have a question. Will you be readding in the youtube video link format?
Yeah, I'll be adding the youtube BBCode at some point.
