All that mattered was Marrie being able to break herself off and get a stab into the paleguard's chest. Even if he did struggle to keep the pole-pipe-thing at a distance for long enough. But, as zombie rules apply, a simple stab in the heart wasn't enough to affect the guard in any degree.

Marrie being flung towards Finn was enough proof of that. He was about ready to dodge when she changed course and clipped him instead, only causing him to stumble a few steps back. He huffed. "Use your melodies! Our weapons are useless against them!" The Timekeeper called out to the others. If anyone else could hear him. Hopefully. He was about to aim one at the paleguard when, as per the tradition of all these ridiculous battles, a giant ass snake launched into the MicroMart bringing with it the actual cultists. Oh shit. So that meant-?!

This is going so well isn't it? Somehow he wasn't surprised this shit happens anymore.
Everyone else was determined to keep the Cult of Aigorost at bay while preserving the stolen truck from the looks of it except the blindfolded guy trying to slice it in half like a samurai. Finn, on his end, fished Eddy out of his pocket and aimed him at the cultists. The eldritch Big Ed can take the opportunity to cleave them apart. With Marrie using the paleguard as part of her attack, the boy fired an electric projectile at the Grand Wizard guy instead. He wasn't a freelancer anymore, but he could still help stall their enemies as best as he could.
Three freelancers against a whole cult? Those numbers would never seem fair. Even with proper coordination between the few espers, it'd be so easy to find yourself overwhelmed by the sheer number you have to face. All for what? Just some water? The commotion coming from the MicroMart was bound to draw in more people eventually.
But out of everyone, the young cyborg would only recognize the blue haired girl.
So when Marrie had found herself beaten down by the homeless cultists and about to be struck by a pipe, a bolt of golden lighting was quickly flung at her, taking advantage of the aggro directed elsewhere. Once it struck it'd swarm the group in electricity, but only Marrie would be healed by the current. The Timekeeper only hopped his strategy stalled long enough for her to break away.
"GO! NOW!" He'd call out to Marrie, hurrying over from around the ruined store. Finn quickly glanced over the ongoing battle. The bums would be easy to dispatch without severe injuries and what looks like the commander of these idiots was currently occupied by the flyer. That left the ones with the horns.
"Stick close to me, got it?!"
The guard with the rusted pipe wasn't expected to just keel over easily. The boy rushed in soon as it recovered, preparing to parry the weapon instead of going for an initial strike. He was trying to give Marrie an opening.
Yep, any sources, whenever she's affected by a [Flight] Effect Note, basically, regardless of sources.
Oke, slight problema, it's kinda pointless if you can give yourself flight for free anyways. Especially since we don't know if you'll be facing someone/something with the specific note too, much less have someone on your team available to help there.
Boss man thinks the perma +1 in that regards is a bit too much for all that. But I get that it'd be weird to have a flightless Angel outside of Maverick, so maybe keep just the self flight? If not we're always open for brainstorming something else.

Being scared off by his now-friend Mary wasn't his finest hour, nor was having to help hold off and defeat the behemoth Crab Rave unprepared, but the news of Betty being kidnapped by a vampire named Justin von Carnage was the final nail in the coffin. His goal was clear enough.
He had to get her back. One way or another.
It was that very sentiment that drove him through hell, trying to catch any and every lead possible to find her, find the bastard that took her, and yet somehow remain one step behind. It was that sentiment that drove him to side with the Maverick to siege against Justin's mansion, face a thralled Betty among other adversaries even if it left him bruised and bloodied, and yet be met with failure again with his targets escaping. One step behind again.
Again and again, he kept failing. Victory in his grasp slipping away each time, and yet he still had the will to keep going. As long as she was alive, he had to keep going, he thought. That very sentiment, that damned sentiment, was what brought upon his unintended status as a local celebrity. Mainly cause people assumed Finn and Betty were a couple. Yes he tried to dismiss those rumors. Yes it didn't work.

His stance on Maverick Alternate hasn't changed since joining GEMINI. But he's aware that they're his occupation's enemy, and he won't let them stop him or his allies from getting their job done. Hopefully he won't have to draw their ire too much. Freelancers on the other hand he freely treats as his friends, as someone who used to be one himself.
For some reason, Finn's taken up researching about alternate realities now, even going as far as planning on building a device that can help traverse the multiverse. Of course something like that is nigh-impossible. Right?
Still though, what of his family? Whether they're entrepreneurs to important businesses, or one of the mafia factions that taint the city, they'll have to catch onto his disappearing act at some point.
