"It seems you still haven't learned, child."

Everyone turned to the older police officer, who seemed to be avoiding everyone else in the room except for Katharsis. She got ready for another fight. On the other hand, Holly tried to get the officer's attention, but he still focused on Katharsis. So, she went in front of him. "Hey! Leave her alone!"

The officer chuckled. "I don't care about you and your friends. I'm here for her."

"You shouldn't undermind us." Holly held her ground while Lonnie and Miguel stood beside her. The officer smiled as he pulled out his baton and started swinging it around. "I admire your bravery, but you lack the manners to mind your own business."

Both Holly and Miguel was hit hard enough to fall down while Loonie managed to dodge the swing. The officer kept on trying to land a blow, but he wasn't fast enough. Loonie managed to hit him on the face, which left an impression on him. "Not bad, kid. Where are you from?"

"Why do you care?

"You aren't a Gothamite, right?" the officer managed to catch him off guard long enough to repeatedly beat his chest until he fell to the ground. "Well, I dealt with brats like you before. It took a few hits before they learned."

Katharsis landed a sucker punch before the office was able to land another blow. It caused the officer to drop his baton while he stumbled around. She stood in front of Loonie and called out the officer, "Are you that afraid to attack everyone else but me, Whitt?"

Officer Whitt struggled to keep his emotions under control. He turned his focus on Katharsis and began attacking her. While the two of them started fighting, Loonie knew for a fact that his ribs were broken. Holly, with a nasty cut on her arm, called out to him for assistance with Miguel, slowly regaining consciousness. Despite the pain, he went over and attempted to help out. Holly glanced over at Katharsis, who was still standing against Whitt.

Katharsis managed to disarm him and briefly used the baton against him, knocking out a few teeth. Whitt grew angrier and charged at her with all of his strength, managing to tackle her to the ground. She tried to escape, but it proved difficult as the officer started choking her. Holly and Loonie made their way to stop him before it was too late. Despite their efforts, the officer was too strong to be pulled even with all of their strength. Whitt smacked at Loonie's chest, causing him to fall out for the pain, and kept on chocking Katharsis while avoiding Holly's desperate attempt.

Suddenly, Holly's entire body began changing to a bright red to the surprise of Katharsis. Whitt didn't notice until he felt her pulling him off and turned to see... her. Without a word, Holly threw him to the other side of the room. He landed hard enough to leave behind an impression of his body on the floor. It was clear that he had lost, but she wasn't done with him. Holly approached him, grabbed his right arm, and broke it. Whitt screamed out loud and gawked at her with hatred. She then grabbed his neck and said, "That was a message. You'll not harm us or anyone else again. Do you understand?"

Whitt stared at her and only responded with a "fuck off." But being the better person, Holly let go of his neck and left him alone as she was gradually turning back to normal. Katharsis watched with glee and had thought of kicking Whitt in the balls for chocking her. But, she heard the sirens and made her way towards the others. Holly almost lost her balance, but she managed to regain her footing. There wasn't enough time to react to whatever that was. She turned to Katharsis and asked for help with Lonnie while she tried to wake Miguel up.

Fortunately, he finally woke up and wondered what happened. Holly helped Miguel off of the ground and asked to help out Katharsis. She went down the stairs and outside to get the van. Meanwhile, the pair managed to lift Loonie carefully up and started walking. Whitt made one last attempt to stop them, but he was unable to get up. He watched as the trio disappeared for his sights, causing him to yell in anger.

Outside, Roshanna got out of the van to help out the others after she parked it. Drew, who was treating Holly's cut, felt incredibly guilty for sending them in. She should've known that Officer Whitt would've shown up if Katharsis was caught. Holly remained silent, trying to figure out what happened with her powers until she couldn't keep it to herself any longer. "I think there's more to my powers."

Drew was caught off guard by the statement. "What do you mean?"

Abruptly, Katharsis opened the van door while she, Roshanna, and Miguel carefully placed Loonie inside. She made her way to the driver seat and started driving away. Drew waited for an answer, but she was called for assistance by Roshanna. Holly turned away for her and inspected the bandage on her hand. Katharsis glanced at her and thanked her, "Thanks for helping me back there. For a second, I thought my life was over."

"It wasn't a problem. You would've done the same."

"Probably." Katharsis was looking at the rear mirror for any signs of police cars. "Say, why were you glowing red?"

"I honestly don't know, but it could have something to do with my powers."

"Powers? So, she went thought with my plan after all..."

"Your plan? Wait, you were-" Holly stopped herself when she heard police sirens and saw two police cars chasing after them. Katharsis shifted her focus to her surroundings and entered an alley, hoping to escape them.

LUNCH BREAK

Oh great. Jake told himself after a woman crashed into him, nearly causing him to lose his balance. Unfortunately, her phone screen had a crack on it. Shaun immediately reached for it and nervously handed it back to the stranger. Jack rolled his eyes as his friend began to apologize for the accident. And then suddenly, a loud scream from the parking lot caught everyone's attention. It was a mother who was desperately trying to wake her child up. By the time Jake ran towards the scene, a crowd had formed to witness what was going on. Some of them were immediately calling for help, while others tried to assist in whatever way possible.

Shane walked towards him and watched the scene unfold. "Should we help?"

Jake thought about joining the crowd, but there were plenty of people on their phones. Plus, they had to get back to work pretty soon. So, he turned to his friend and responded, "I doubt we can't do anything that hasn't been done. Besides, I'm sure an ambulance is on its way."

On their way, Jake walked passed the woman from earlier and glanced at her for a moment. He felt bad that her phone was damaged, but there wasn't anything he could do. And it wasn't his fault. Meanwhile, Shaun apologized once more before bidding farewell to the stranger. Both of them began making their way back to work when they noticed two police cars, with their sirens blaring, driving fast down the street. Jake felt that today was going to be a strange one.

As they turned the corner of the street, the situation at the parking lot escalated. To the mother's relief, the child started breathing slowly. She resumed mouth-to-mouth while one of the owners of the restaurant returned with a first aid kit. Then, she let out a muffled scream as her child was biting his own mother. The crowd began to scream in horror while the owner and someone else tried to free her. It was strangely difficult, but she was eventually released. Her mouth was ruined entirely, leaving left her unable to do anything besides letting out muffled screams. Meanwhile, the child was being held down by two strangers as they were attempting to calm him down.

Past that, no one really seemed to notice what was going on. The rest of the city continued with its bustling routine.

EVENTS IN AMERICA

The Business Plot - Henry Wallace's victory caused wealthy businessmen and Wall Street big shots to become concerned. Rumors began to spread that William Hearst and several other prominent tycoons were organizing a plan to prepare for the upcoming Wallace administration. Then, several political officials from both major parties supposedly got involved with military personnel following shortly. Somewhere along the way, the plan changed into replacing Wallace before he did any damage to America. Paul French was the journalist that broke the story shortly after MacArthur's March.

MacArthur's March - On Inauguration Day, attendees were surprised to see General Douglas MacArthur standing in place of to-be President Henry Wallace. He was sworn into a temporary presidency catching the crowd and some of the attendees off guard. Other than a short speech, MacArthur didn't answer any questions regarding the whereabouts of Wallace. Wallace supporters went to their representatives for answers, but they remained silent on the matter. Nobody, with the expectation of third-party members, from the Senate and Congress made any overt comments or objections. As a result, widespread protests and riots occurred across the country.

Butler's Revolt - Major General Smedley Darlington Butler, on May 16th, 1933, long concerned about the imprisonment of Henry Wallace and of McKee's presidential actions organized a military coup d'étact. The goal was to free Wallace from incarceration and neutralize both McKee and Pelley. His efforts, lasting for a week, were fruitless with the deaths of Wallace and Butler. Soon after, a major military purge commenced, decimating the American military's leadership.

The Savannah Spring - On July 4th, 1939, President McKee and Vice President Pelley traveled to Savannah to campaign for a third term. A week-long massive rally, similar to the one in Madison Square Garden earlier in the year, was planned out. On the second day, McKee went up to speak and reveal the big announcement. Instead, the podium exploded and caused everyone on the stage to sustain injuries. Suddenly, a group that called themselves Sons of Liberty entered the venue and opened fire at the stage. A firefight occurred and eventually spilled over to the city.

The venue burned down shortly after McKee and Pelley were escorted out by security, but the Sons of Liberty gave chase. Fighting prolonged into a brutal two-day siege before the rebels were defeated overwhelmed by the Army and National Guard, but the damage was done. McKee bled out inside the state car while Pelley was too injured to take over the presidency.

Brigadier General Charles Lindbergh and General Douglas MacArthur, who managed to end the Sons of Liberty, became national treasures overnight. After tales of their exploits spread to the upper echelons, in the wake of McKee's death and Pelley's injuries, MacArthur suggested that he took over the presidency again until the 1940 election and there was some hesitation. However, with Lindbergh announced as the Republican candidate, it was (eventually) met with universal approval.

1940 Election -

Okay, since the dadsheet has been posted, I have extended the deadline to August 21st. Hopefully, that should give y'all plenty of time.

Coral City, during the night, was still filled with people going to bars and nightclubs. While downtown and the boardwalk were bustling with life, the rest of the city remained peaceful for the most part. At one of the abandoned buildings, designated to be bulldozed in the near future, a police officer quietly entered. Nearby, Lonnie watched to make sure that nobody else was coming while Drew was putting the finishing touches on the masks. Lonnie turned. "I think that's everyone. You sure we're at the right place?"

"Positive." Drew answered. "The tracker is still showing she's in that building."

"Then, what are we waiting for? Let's save your friend." Lonnie put on his mask, a skull wearing a crown, and made his way to the building. But, Holly stopped him in his tracks.

"Hold on, we need to come up with a plan."

"Agreed." Roshanna approached both of them. "But what's the plan? You are the only one with powers at hand."

"I will distract the officers while everyone goes to save Drew's friend."

"You realize that there's a chance that they will beat you to death? I dealt with a few dirty cops in my life. They will not hold back." Lonnie crossed his arms and stared directly at Holly.

Miguel turned his attention to the building and noticed something strange on the second floor. It looked like a person being smashed against the window repeatedly. Suddenly, it finally broke, and the officer was shoved from the third floor. It felt like time slowed down as he attempted, in a foolish manner, to catch the falling officer. Normally, he wasn't the one to help out the authorities, especially with a warrant on his head. But, it appeared like he wasn't going to make in time. So in desperation, he stretched out his arm in the hopes that his powers were triggered.

His hopes were answered.

A strange violet hand appeared out of his arm and caught the officer before he met the concrete. Luckily enough, it appeared that he was unconscious as the hand carefully set him down. Miguel opened his eyes in amazement while everyone else watched in surprise. And then, the hand vanished as quickly as it appeared. He turned around, and his mouth wide open. "D-did you guys see that?!"

"That... was awesome!" Lonnie patted him on the back, which made Miguel blushed a little.

"Nice job."

Drew smiled and then stared at the broken window. "I hate to interrupt, but my friend's in serious danger. I would help out, but I'm in a wheelchair."

"I will stay behind to keep the van warm." Roshanna added.

Holly nodded and turned to the others, holding her statue of liberty mask. She knew what to do and made her way towards the building. Loonie was the first one to enter and immediately saw an officer's body. Holly went over to her and checked for a pulse. Thankfully, she was unconscious and not suffering serious injuries other than bruises. Miguel noticed more SWAT and police officers lying on the floor and stairs. All three of them raced up the stairs until they ended up on the third floor. That was when they noticed her.

A woman shield bashed an officer and then threw it at another officer. She noticed the strangers and greeted them while blocking a punch. "Oh, hey there! I assume M sent you to save me?"

"Yeah, but..." Miguel looked around and saw several more officers knocked out and then stared at her with astonishment. "It looks like you are doing well."

The woman couldn't help but smile at the compliment and bushed it off. She dealt with the last officer with a simple punch to the face. Holly approached her and took a moment to look at her, "So, what's your name?"

"You call me-"

"Katharsis." An older muscular man appeared from the stairs avoiding the strangers in front of him. He was directly looking at the woman with pure hatred. "It seems you still haven't learned, child."

SIGNIFICANT INDIVIDUALS

Charles Lindbergh - After achieving the first solo transatlantic flight in his Spirit of St. Louis, Lindbergh became a celebrity overnight to the American people. He went on tours across the country for several years while serving in the airforce. It was due to his support of McKee presidency that he gained the leeway. Then, he was the key player in ending the Savannah Spring resulting in becoming a national treasure overnight. Lindbergh was sought out to be the replacement Republican nominee, which he accepted without hesitation.

Gerald Smith - Smith, clergyman and founder of the America First Party, was sought out by Lindbergh to be his running mate for the 1940 election.

William Pelley - Founder of the Silver Legion of America and former Vice President, Pelley worked aside McKee to reshape the country. Originally, he was planned to replace Roosevelt until McKee came into the picture. Regardless, his performance and quick action during the chaos in Washington D.C. led him to the vice presidency. His Silver Legion became an important force for maintaining order and peace after the plot. Their influence grew more during The Great Cleansing. He suffered serious injuries during the Sons of Liberty attack that left him unable to maintain the office. Pelley retired to the Murphy Ranch, located in Los Angeles, and spent his time maintaining the Legion.

Everett McKee - Former President of the United States from 1932 to 1939. McKee was a right-wing political figure that campaigned across Oklahoma without drawing a crowd. Yet, he was still contacted and ultimately offered the presidency by the committee. Without any hesitation, he accepted and started working almost immediately with reassembling the executive cabinet. For eight years, McKee was responsible for changing the country and effectively established fascism for the first time in the world. His ambition was cut short in 1939 when he was assassinated by the Sons of Liberty. His body was buried on the grounds of the Oklahoma State Capitol. But, it's expected that it will be moved to Washington D.C. once his tomb is built.

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

"It's called the American Dream, because you have to be asleep to believe it."

HISTORY
The United States of America was in the midst of a growing labor movement when the Great War finally ended. President Wilson, an anti-labor, began drifting plans to crush the movement before it grew out of control. But then, the Industrial Workers of the World announced a general strike, where all the workers united to get their demands met. Wilson immediately got to work in crushing the strike with help from the military and police departments across the country. Once it became clear how much of a threat the labor movement was, Democrats used both President Harding and Coolidge to start chipping away unions and labor rights.

President Herbert Hoover won the 1929 election with plans on doing the same things, angering the pro-labor movement again. However, he was forced to maintain the European aid mission and subsidies to farmers pushed by his predecessors causing the booms of the twenties. But then, the crash of 1929 happened followed by the Dust Bowl. With those factors, Hoover put an end to the aid mission while attempted to raise agricultural tariffs, but led to the signing of the Tariff Act of 1930. Still, he didn't want the government to be heavily involved since he believed in laissez-faire economics. Many experts expected Hoover to lose his 1932 reelection campaign, which he did.

Even known faith in Hoover was long gone, Americans were still hopeful that a Republican President would undo the damage. Their trust went to one person in particular: Henry Wallace. A farmer from Iowa, Wallace campaigned on the promise of major agricultural reforms and an answer to the anti-labor Democrats. And with the Great Depression getting worst, he won the 1932 election in a landslide. That caused wealthy businessmen and several Democrats to be concerned. So, after Election Day, in the act of desperation, they gathered, discussed, and followed through with a plan that eventually led to the incident known as The Business Plot.

General Douglas MacArthur marched into Washington D.C. and arrested Wallace inside the Capitol Building. Vice President-Elect James LeCron was also arrested at the airfield of Washington Airport by General George Patton. On Inauguration Day, Americans watched in surprise as MacArthur was sworn into a temporary presidency. Left-wing third-parties organized widespread protests in response while almost every member of the Congress and Senate remained silent on the matter. Those that remained vocal in the legislative branch received no responses from MacArthur. Meanwhile, a committee was formed with the task of finding a suitable replacement for the presidency.

After two weeks of discussion, the committee put forward Everett McKee, an unknown right-wing political figure from Oklahoma. The Republican Party denounced the choice and called for a general strike across the nation. But, there were supporters, like Charles Lindbergh and William Pelley, that backed the new president. Infighting occurred in Washington D.C., lasting for three days until the Silver Legion of America (led by William) arrived to establish control. Fearful of arrest and harm, several Republicans, Democrats, and third-party officials fled the city and went into hiding. Their fears were correct when the headquarters of the Socialist Party of America burnt to the ground while their members perished in the fire or were arrested shortly after. Fortunately, most of the members (including the party's leadership) fled the night before. Now in control, President McKee invited Pelley to be his vice president after his performance in the capital. Then, he outlawed third parties in the country, focusing on the SPA and the IWW.

Vice President Pelley incorporated the Silver Shirts and the Black Guard (known as the Black Legion, a popular militia part of the Klan) into the U.S. military. Several military generals were concerned about the indications, including Major General Smedley Butler. Two months after the coup d'état, Butler attempted to assassinate President McKee and Vice President Pelley and free Wallace from prison. The week-long coup d'état failed horribly, resulting in the deaths of Butler and Wallace along with the purge of the military afterward.

The entire purge, known as The Great Cleansing, lasted from 1933 to 1936, which targeted military officials from the army to the air force. It gave more power and influence to the Silver Legion and the Klan throughout the country, especially in the South. When the 1936 election happened, McKee won by a long shot to his Democratic opponent across the country. Although, some suspected that imitation and voter suppression played a major role in his victory. For the second term, President McKee sought to dismantle antitrust laws and empower capitalist policies to combat the Great Depression.

Then, in 1939, a third and final coup d'état was organized by the resistance group using the name "Sons of Liberty." Unlike Butler's Revolt, this coup dealt a devastating blow with McKee's death and Pelley's serious injury. Though, it ended with the resistance fighters killed or arrested by Brigadier General Charles Lindbergh and General Douglas MacArthur. MacArthur offered to maintain the presidency until the 1940 election, which was only a few months away. Everyone hesitated to allow MacArthur to maintain the country again; however, once Lindbergh backed the idea, all of them agreed.

The Republican Party sought out Lindbergh and asked him to be the replacement Republican nominee after learning of Pelley's injuries. Lindbergh accepted the nomination with Gerald Smith becoming the vice present nominee shortly after. Being the first pilot to make a nonstop flight across the Atlantic Ocean, he was already an icon to the world--including Americans. But his actions during the Savannah Spring only made him more popular with the American people. And the live broadcast of the trials and executions of the Sons of Liberty members boosted that popularity.

And once the dust had settled, President Lindbergh and Vice President Gerald Smith managed to secure enough votes to win the 1940 election (rumors surfaced that they also used imitation and voter suppression). Their first action was to layout the foundations of a new government program with the ultimate goal of ensuring that every American had work. However, the program remained in the drafts because of the potential constitutional issues it faced.

Fifteen years passed; the year is 1955, where Lindbergh and Smith have achieved the longest presidential term in the country's history. And yet, they are still changing the United States. The newly created Federal Security and Intelligence Agency has essentially become secret police with influence from the Legion and Klan. Some argued that FSI was unconstitutional, while the majority, including Lindbergh, established that it wasn't only constitutional but necessary to deal with threats to American values. And it's director, J. Edgar Hoover refuses to testify in the Senate with the support of the Lindbergh administration.

Meanwhile, the mysterious government program is set to finally be revealed on the White House lawn. With the 1956 election getting closer, rumors are spreading that both Democrat and Republican politicians are starting to worry that Lindbergh will seek out a sixth term. But, those in power either only care about themselves or have become too scared to speak up. However, there are rumors of resistance fighters hiding throughout the country, waiting for the day to strike and bring back democracy.

LUNCH BREAK

"Holy shit."

"What?" Jake Elliott turned to his co-worker, Shaun Grant, with a curious look. Both of them were on their lunch break at the local fast-food restaurant. It was nearby the thrift store, and they were tired of being in there. Jake was eating his fries while trying to see what the hell Shaun was watching this time. Hopefully, it wasn't something stupid. He wasn't able to see much, but he did saw the part where the officer opened fire on the woman. In an instant, Jack turned away while Shaun shut off his phone and placed it down on the table. It was when he said "holy shit" again.

"The fuck were you watching?!" Jake asked while throwing his fries away because he couldn't eat anymore after watching the video.

"Well, my friends shared me this link about a nearby shooting. I just... didn't realize it was that bad." Shaun responded. Then, he went to cover his mouth. "I think I'm gonna throw up. Excuse me."

Jake watched as his co-worker rushed towards the bathroom and then stared at the phone. His curiosity got the better of him when he took the phone and began to rewind the video. And once he got to a part that didn't look graphic, he resumed the video. Jake watched as the woman took a beating from a baton and then saw the officer reaching for his gun. That was when he paused the video and placed the phone back to its original spot. He didn't want to see someone getting shot again. But, that footage was bothering him a whole lot. Maybe it wasn't a big deal, he told himself.

After a few minutes, Shaun came out of the bathroom refreshed as he went to grab his phone from the table. He looked at Jake and said, "It's time to go back. You ready?"

"Yeah, let's go." Jake nodded and started making his way back to the thrift store.
