Well, we have Warbird who is involved with the American Government along with our Monster Comandos. Then I and Stormaxx have Amanda Waller as someone working on secret government organization that doesn't quite follow rules which has done some experimentation.
I would just suggest that not all Republicans would hate mutants, even if they should support things like the Superhero Registration that Lionel Luthor is starting in Metropolis. Just to not make the US government fully evil.
Don't worry, the hatred of mutants will be bipartisan! (tho the administration will be Republican)

How would y'all feel about me reintroducing Bounce's concept of the American government introducing (but not passing) the Mutant Registration Act and the Friends of Humanity being a Political Action Committee?
Has anyone touched upon the American government yet? I was leaning towards a Republican administration that won due to anti-mutant hysteria inflamed in the 2020s by conservatives and the far-right. But I wanna make sure before my next Genosha post.

In all seriousness, I would like to make the Frost Gala an "event" of sorts.
The intention is that Frost has invited the heroes of New York to celebrate their achievements, while raising money for the repairs. It's a PR move on her part as well as being something a bit petty and personal also.
It is also an opportunity for her to put the feelers out on these heroes without exposing herself, potentially find new allies.
At this stage only a few in the X Circle, the Hellfire Club, and Jessica Jones are aware of her status as a Telepath and mutant but this should change, and perhaps something will go down at the even which will force that to happen.
For now, characters should assume "Rich blonde lady throwing a fancy fundraiser."
~ This is all to say that, yes, maybe we'll fight.

Magneto would love to go, but he's worried that 1) he'd take attention away from the heroes of NYC, 2) the US government won't just arrest him the moment he sets foot on US soil, and 3) he isn't even a New Yorker!

I really enjoyed it, the style of nation rp posts via a mix of overall narrative and PoVs remind me of the glory days of Nation RP and so it hit me with the nostalgia bat a lot.
I am biased towards Genosha because it, along with Krakoa, are easily my fave Mutant storylines but I am very invested to the point it's definitely making me consider a mutant/mutant team for my second character. Your ground up approach to how we're perceiving this early political unrest is a great choice.
I have been meaning to respond to this post, but I keep forgetting to do so. I originally wanted to write about Krakoa, but when many of the characters were originally year-ones, I felt it would be out of place. I decided on Genosha because it's my favorite aspect of the X-Men lore.
I hope they aren't too long for y'all to read. It's been a while since I posted in the writing style of an NRP, so I might have kinda of gotten carried away.
I feel like if an event is preventing someone from feeling like they can post, that's less than ideal.

It wasn't really preventing me from posting the turtles, per se. I just felt like it would have clashed with what I have planned for the introduction post. I didn't want their first experience on the surface to be necessary fighting trolls while NYC burns in the background. It would feel kinda out of place. And I didn't want to do a flashback post, nor rewrite it to make it work with the event, since I already have a solid outline planned. If not for that, I would have posted regardless of the trolls being... trolls.
