Current "Doing your best" does not mean working yourself to the point of a mental breakdown. Its no longer your best at that point.

The word homeowner has the word "meow" in it. Good luck pronouncing it correctly ever again. You're welcome ^.^

When everything seems wrong...something goes right, and it changes darkness into light, and makes the shadows a little less daunting.

People cry, not because they are weak. It's because they've been strong for too long

the bad thing about being bullied is that every time it happens it steals a little piece of who you are if it happens enough little by little you become a little less of who you were meant to be.

If you wait until I'm home I'll write up a intro post for Evelina. That could give you someone to interact with

Give me about half an hour I'll be home then and then I can update the front page with all that info.

Kalinda hesitated a moment after the woman took the dingo back, watching her to make sure that if it was going to fall, she could catch it before it did. She understood the mothers hesitation- Kalinda was a stranger, and a strange stranger at that. She supposed that they were all strange… but not many people went through an emotional rollercoaster in minutes, although Kalinda was sure she had managed to keep herself from effecting anyone around her… which was never a certainty, but she suspected the mothers wariness was just that. Wariness.

Kalinda tried to smile reassuringly, but it might have just come out a bit queasy looking. Okay, a lot queasy looking. The dindo suddenly made more sense as the woman talked, her accent coming through quite clearly, a rather pleasant sound if Kalinda was being honest. It wasn’t an accent she had heard often, although TV and movies tried to mimic it, often butchering the accent she now realised.

As the woman seemed to hesitate, and then accept her offer, Kalinda smiled, this time more genuinely, reaching out to take the bags, she stopped at the sound of another’s voice, one who seemed to know the woman. The new woman seemed to ignore her, overlook her, which Kalinda was, sadly, used too. She could forgive that- the girl seemed first delighted and then taken aback at the child in… Ky? Ky’s arms. Kalinda gave a soft sigh, glancing down at her gloved hands, unsure what to do anymore.

The two did know each other, Kalinda could feel that. A sense of… companionship, and enjoyment came to mind. And Kalinda felt an ache, one that had been rather constant these last… 18 months. And she envied the two their friendship. Although Kalinda had to wonder why the woman- Jayla- didn’t seem to know of the child. Perhaps Ky hadn’t wanted the child to be known, which was rather interesting, although Kalinda wasn’t going to ask any questions.

Kalinda watched the child, rather intently. She didn’t want him to start crying… children had such potent emotions, but it seemed like his mother had things handle and she let out a soft breath. Perhaps coming over here wasn’t such a good idea, but… She couldn’t have just let the woman struggle. Maybe she could sneak away in the shadows? Although how she’d face Ky’ vie again she didn’t know. So Kalinda stood there, a little lamely, waiting to see what would happen, if anything.

As Ky’ Vie turned back towards her, Kalinda could easily notice the change in her attitude, and she was a little relieved. The wariness had been getting to her a little bit, and she’d nearly considered just continuing her earlier flight out of the school. ”It’s nice to meet you too, Ky’ Vie, and your son… when he is awake” She said managing a smile.
The character limit is now increase to seven.

I have a quick couple of questions before I get started on my post: first, what's the date IC? And second, what kind of terrain is the school located in?

Its location is remote Virginia.

The date... um. Current time.
Remember when in doubt about how to make your character not generic and mary sue.

Just make him a self aware jackass. Everyone already thinks it, but if they embrace they suddenly gain loads more character.

I've tried making a jackass.

I ended up making a Draco Malfoy like character.

*sneaks out again*
Connor

Connor neared the gates, still carrying his pack over one shoulder. He wasn’t fearful someone else would gain the suit- it was set for him and only him, but he still didn’t want it falling into others hands. The closer he got to the gates, the more noise he could hear as other students began to interact with one another. He couldn’t shake the feeling that this was much like the first day of highschool. And these students all had skills, abilities, and they all knew what had happened… and where they were going after this. Connor shook his head, ridding himself of these thoughts. This was different… he might be smart, and have abilities, but that wasn’t strange here…

Which wasn’t to say he’d actually become friends with anyone here. Still, he’d try.

He shifted his pack, wishing he was a little bit more impressive then he was, but he knew that that was just… nerves. He frowned at himself, shaking his head once more. What did he have to be nervous about? Strangely, Connor thought back on his very first solo flight… his father had laughed himself silly, and then helped him at least not end up upside down. And he smiled. That had been a lot of what Tony Stark had given his son, the ability to laugh at himself, and the confidence to keep on going even if he messed up.

Shifted, he continued to walk, reaching the gates and entering the grounds, looking about, he studied the students already gathering in the front grounds. There seemed to be some commotion going on, but he supposed that was to be expected. Still, Connor watched, to make sure things weren’t about to get serious, before he moved a little further into the gates, noticing that there was a bit of a blockage, and he didn’t want to add to it.

He glanced around for anyone to interact with that wasn’t already in a conversation, frowning slightly. No one really seemed to be alone… Connor’s gaze landed on two people entering the gates just behind him. They seemed to know each other already, and were quite comfortable. A couple, or siblings? Sometimes it was hard to tell. He paused a moment before approaching them.

”Hi… Are you guys new here?” Right away, Connor realised his mistakes, and he scrambled to fix it, ”Oh, I mean, we’re all new here… jeez” He ran a hand through his hair, embarrassed at his mistake. ”This is why I wish I had a rewind button. Hi, I’m Connor”
She doesn't think low of her... she's just trying to get those that interrupted to understand the deadliness of the situation.

No, thank you for doing this. I know I was probably a bitch earlier, and I do apologise for that.
