Strange frowned and said “they found peaceful moments and let their pain out in private or with each other...your father was never good at letting his stress go until your mother...I think you should speak with Robin. He could help...”

Robin ran I with Wally, looking around and then ran with him to the led bay. Wolf was barely breathing now, her blood making a trail behind them. Robing opened doors for the speed demon, pale and scared. He knew what Bane could do to a person. Batman had fought him enough. And had ended up just as bad as Wolf.

Batman and Green Arrow had Bane locked in cuffs as the rest of the league gathered the other fighters. Batman was quiet and not his normal quiet. He was pissed. Scary pissed.

Bane roared and swung at Superboy but blasts flew around them. Batman landed between the pair, glaring at Bane and muttered “Go with the others...Bane is mine...”

Wolf was shaking badly in Kids arms, her eyes barely open from the swelling and blood. Artemis covered the pair and ran with them saying “Everybody out now!” Robin jumped thru the crowd with Aqua lad and Meg following. They made out side and Robin ran to Wolfs side, checking her over. He cursed and said “Why did it have to be Bane...the biggest nastiest one...we have to get her back...”

Strange walked into the lab and saw Riza. He ran over to her and knelt down by her, resting a hand on her shoulder. “They have Wolf and they are on their way back now...Batman and Green Arrow are handling Bane...wolf wore him out so it made him easier to take down...his being arrested as we speak...are you alright?”

Wolf rolled her neck and muttered “Guys...lithe shorter this fight the better...” then Bane ran right at her and she jumped up and their fight to what it seemed to the death begin.

Robin was trying to be fast with his hacking and muttered “Superboy? If Wolf looks like she’s in any danger jump in. Your the only one of us who can even come close to Banes full...” then they heard a scream and a sick crack. Wolf was holding her shoulder as Bane was moving around the ring to cheers. Wolf already looked bad but she was holding her stand as she slowly got up, her shoulder busted and it looked like her leg wAs hurt badly too. She moved right behind Bane and let’s her claws out and jumped up, stabbing him in the back the best she could with a broken shoulder into his back muscles.

He spun and roared, wolf able to cut one of the tubes for his mask. He grabbed her and threw her hard into the bars, then slammed her into the ground for another sick crack. She gasped and blood hit the fighting mats. Then she bit into his arm so he would let go. She rolled away and then curled into a tight ball and slammed into his gut, sending him into the bars and then started jabbing her fists as hard as she could. She had good hits before he grabbed her by her hair and swung her hard between bars and floor. Finally he slammed her hard across the ring, wolf hit the bars and sliding down. She was covered in blood and bruises but she slowly got to her feet. She knew she was dead if he hit her again but she had to stall. Had to give her team enough time.

Robin finished and said “I’m done. So are the others. Send the signal Riza. We have to get Wolf out of there before he kills her” just then Bane was hold g Wolf by the neck, crushing her neck as she tried to break free. He laughed and said “your strong kid...most would be dead by now...but sadly you have to die now...” Wolf gasped and her vision blurred with the rest of her body numb from shock and pain.

The Rise of the Guardian

When he got back Ash was sleeping lightly leaning against the wall and sitting on the cot. She looked very peaceful sleeping, not like she had almost died from a beast. When he walked in she stirred a little but stayed asleep.

Drake was putting maps together and put them in a bag muttering “hopefully she can find some peace now...”

Maggie Shade is one of the story’s deuteragonists, and the modern-day reincarnation of Zahra, an Egyptian priestess, who bore a mystical pendant, whilst serving as one of Pharaoh Atem’s many protectors, five-thousand years ago, all-the-while, having to possess traits of “flawless beauty”, “brightness”, and “a warrior-like heart”, that lived on within her present-day self.

A proficient duelist, hailing as a champion from the United Kingdom, Maggie was born within a family of historians; her father, a professor, and her native mother, who had a passion for studying and translating the pyramids. Since her mother’s passing, and her father’s disappearance, Maggie became a “lone wolf”, and ventured out on her own to find reconciliation, before learning that the fate of her father was linked to a several millennia-old battle between the forces of good and evil.

With the mysterious artifact her late mother had bestowed upon her, Maggie is forced to look back on the stories she grew up on about the old world, as well as those about an ancient king, who had saved his kingdom from darkness, of whom she discovers herself having a significant connection with, shortly after crossing paths with him, in the present day.

Through her pendant, Zahra holds the power of the Shadow Realm and, in addition of her being linked to the Wolf of the Moon, she holds the ability to see and control Duel Monsters.

Personality
Having to be a rather determined priestess, Zahra is a warrior, by-heart. An assigned-protector to the kings of Egypt, even though she was one of the youngest disciples in her clan, Zahra was a courageous, headstrong individual, who was raised to show full commitment to her duties, even if they were to last for the remainder of her life. By means of fulfilling her purpose, her passion never seemed to dissipate from her very being. Having to be part of the female minority during ancient times, Zahra’s training, as well as the gaining of respect from those higher than herself was very difficult, but she quickly gained recognition, due to her refusal of accepting defeat. Her professional efforts to make sure she met the satisfactions of her superiors, meant that Zahra will go as far as to not trust others at first glance, as well as speak her mind, not sugar coat anything, nor let her feelings get in the way of her duties.

Etymology
While the term itself corresponds with these two very different albeit related meanings, it is distinguished to their use in various Middle Eastern countries.

The name Zahra is a common female-given name, whose primary meanings are translated to “beautiful”, “bright”, “shining”, and “brilliant” in Arabian, though some believe it to, literally, be spelled as Zahrah, meaning “beauty”, “flower”, or “blossom”.

BIOGRAPHY
History
Born around Third Millennium B.C., Zahra was raised by a worshipping clan of the deity Bane, whose primary goal is to guard the kings of Egypt from conflict and misfortune. Eventually, she grew into the shoes of a young priestess, armed with knowledge in ancient magic, and was sent to the capital of Egypt to repel cultists to rebellions from Prince Atem of the late Pharaoh Akhnamkanon. Zahra guarded His Majesty undetected; all-the-while, having to be unaware of herself being watched by the royal family’s supernatural servant Shadow, a djinn-like entity disguised as a young priestess, that was created by Akhnamkanon, out of the ancient magic of the Pharaoh’s Millennium Pendant. The two became quick friends through their shared goal.

Even though Zahra had succeeded in protecting the prince from many dangers, without so much as giving a sign, she was forced to reveal herself, after Atem was kidnapped by a cult, and nearly sacrificed to one of the lesser gods. Since then, the two became quick friends, and Zahra would never be too far away from his side. Soon enough, by the time they had reached their late teens, where their feelings of loyalty became those of affection. However, before they could come to terms with these newfound feelings, Atem took seat upon the throne, and Zahra was now one of his many guardians. Unfortunately, like Shadow, this put Zahra in a position, lower than the sacred court, having to be in the dark, and looked down upon by some of the high priests; Priest Aknadin and Seto, in particular.

Soon, by that very same year, during the battle against Zorc Necrophades, Zahra protected Atem, one last time, having to prove her deep love for him by taking a powerful hit by the demon; “the ultimate sacrifice”, as recalled by Shadow, shortly before the djinn placed the girl’s pendant in a secret space within the Tomb of the King, right near her loved one. This memory became so rare and powerful, that Zahra’s patron god Bane, knowing the king would need them once more, felt that his disciple deserved another chance, having to be reborn as Maggie.

Avery sighed and rolled over so she was on her side facing him. “That was a dumb move...I shouldn’t have tried to use that while being this tired...I just reacted...” there was a knock and Dante came in with a short red haired woman with black glasses on her nose. Dante walked back and-said “Mister Dominic, this is Doctor Solar. She’s our medical officer on board”

The doctor moved forward and knelt down by the bunk, resting a hand on Avery’s cheek. “Dang it, Captain...you over did it and you have a fever from stress...I told you that you needed bed rest to get over this...is the Heart taxing you this much?” Avery coughed Andy muttered “it’s been bad as of late but...I can handle it...” solar raised an eyebrow and muttered “stubborn like your father...”

Dante looked at Dominic and said softly “when you were with her, was she acting...oddly?”
