I think they were asking more for how his interactions with the spirit world manifest themselves as scientific reactions in the physical world. so to say that he block someone's sight by engulfing them with darkness spiritually, in the physical world it could manifest that effect as an inability to pass on optical signals to the brain in a way that is really hard to circumvent.
Also could someone please explain to him about philotes or whatever it is that we use as an explanation for some near to completely impossible stuff?

@Meta Hmm, well I'll go to my back up power theory explanation plan. He has a pocket dimension which is connected to every other dimension and universe. His powers come from this dimension. Dimension of Darkness... That is a higher dimension so theoretically he is able to connect to any lower dimension as for say, the 3D one.
Pocket dimension is doable as well as higher spacial dimension (we have experience with those as well), but he'd theoretically need to take that pocket dimension with him since Existence is a very large physical place that is intentionally segmented and isolated. So if he wanted to, it could coexist with every dimension, but just not all at the same time.

@Meta... do we, right now, have a scientific explanation of spirits? The first part, where he engulfs someone's spirit with darkness to also disable their body is just that, power over the spirit realm.
Now when he comes to the physical plane, he can summon energies from the spirit realm to the physical one, energies which imitate a black hole but only working on energy and not affecting physical matter.
Souls exist, yes, but there isn't a ubiquitous "spiritual world" that runs parallel to the physical one. Some dimensions have it, others do not. Many things like that are universe specific.
@Meta Apologies. Must have gotten a bit confused. Of course my character will have a profile picture. I had the mistaking impression that you wanted me to put the same picture my character had to my profile pick.

I did mean your profile pic. It doesn't technically have to be. The next question is whether you have a scientific explanation of his powers.

How do you suppose he would consistently interact with the group without a solid physical form?
