As you can infer by the above, this is one of two RP concepts I'll be trying to GM this Fall Season. I can field questions, but mostly I am testing the waters to see if anyone out here would be interested in this. I generally swing toward private games or games with known players I've engaged with in the past, but this will be one of the attempts I make at a fairly public game with no taken seats.

I've tried to run two games with this concept before but both have stalled out early and I'm hoping third time's the try.

Basically in concept it is a Mighty Morphin' Reboot with a modern flare with me incorporating my own Sentai designs among other features. I am currently looking for people who lean toward certain high school archetypes with a power rangers flare. Typical Red-Blue-Black-Yellow-Pink are the current configurations, though largely if you like a certain color we can shop things around. Ideally three male characters and two female, but that's not fixed either.

The first arc will be what we see as the opening episodes of a season one.

There is a story, on a planet far from the solar system you know where a group of people stood alone against the forces of darkness. A story that begins with Zordon of Eltar.

The story of the Power Rangers.

Granted powers from a separate dimension known as the Morphing Grid, Zordon sought to prevent the forces of the Xalantian Imperium from continuing their conquest of the galaxy. Fascinated by the power he wielded, the empress of evil, Xala, soon found her hunger for something more than material conquest. It would be this desire to access and acquire the grid that made her war against Zordon endless and ravenous in nature. Eventually, Zordon saw all of his friends fall before him and realized that the only way to save the grid was to sacrifice his world in the process.

A bitter irony.

He needed the grid to save his world, but to save the grid he had to allow his world to die.

The Power Grid vanished and so too did the tools to access it. This created a ripple effect, as more factions who sought to dominate the universe came to power and the might of the Xalantian Imperium faded into obscurity. Xala’s fanatics, fervent and loyal, scoured galaxy-after-galaxy in search of what their empress once salivated over. What was once a megalomaniacal fantasy became a devotion, a framing that they could only gain power like they once held when they found and captured the energies of the grid. And for millions of years… the grid has remained quiet.

Until today.
It doesn't help that inactive threads get locked after a very short time.
Sometimes music works to help contextualize my concept, other times it serves as a distraction.
I have a feeling I know how @Lemons would answer this question.
Car broke down Saturday morning, will have some time to get this first post written I guess.
Especially when they outright refuse to let another person step up and Co-GM. Had that happen once; GM hadn't been around. I asked about taking over in their stead, they denied, the RP ultimately died.

Eh, I can see this for fandom RPs, but for people who create original content this is effectively asking to steal someone's prompt and run with it with no consideration to the effort they put in. I can understand being frustrated, but it is completely understandable when people would rather the RP die than someone run with their work.

Just to clarify, we are only at the beginning of the dawn of superheroes insofar as everyone has made year one characters so far. My intention wasn't for this to be a year one story. If this is the direction everyone would prefer to move in I'm happy to keep it in mind, but I'm conscious this may get in the way of people writing legacy heroes - Stargirl, The Flash, etc.

You work with the lore the players provided given the setup, I suppose.
