The list of Successors, and an at-a-glance look to see which Successors are still open. For Powers and Weapons associated with each, see the above tabs. I will hold reservations for 48 hours, let me know if you'd like some more time. For now, stick to one character and we'll see what ends up being left.
For generations, the Greek Gods - 15 of them, anyway - have chosen successors for their powers and titles. Such power lying dormant in the chosen few until a time to Awaken them was necessary, should any God be unable to perform their duties or if the Titans were to break free from Tartarus and attempt to take control of the Earth once again. As successors lived their lives, unaware of the true power within them, and yet having a small taste of the power that was within them - whether they were a particularly talented gardener, a wonderful musician or perhaps a most trusted midwife, for example - and eventually died, new successors were chosen. Until now, it has never been necessary to Awaken the successors.
As rumours begin of Kronos and the other Titans' imminent escape among the Gods, a decision is made to draw the successors together and Awaken them at the same time. But the King of the Titans was further along than speculated. While unable to quite fully escape, he and some of the other Titans had their 'cages' weakened enough so that a small amount of their power could be used, leaking out to Earth. And so their successors were also chosen, destined to seek out the Gods' successors and destroy them, before travelling down to Tartarus and freeing Kronos and the other Titans. And so it was, with the Titan successors able to control mythological creatures, they were able to locate and ambush a few of the Gods' successors, forcing their Awakening earlier than expected.
With an understanding - and a strange voice in each of their heads that explained what was going - and a shiny new weapon granted, the Greek God successors must find those that have already been Awakened, and then locate and find the others before the Titan successors do. After all, they may not be as lucky as they were. But it's also not exactly easy to just leave behind the life they knew and liked, and forced into a destiny (and burden) that they never asked for... and unfortunately the fate of the world lies with them.
Each character will have a power and weapon relating to the God they are a Successor for. These are what I have come up with, discussion can be had if you had a different idea that does not clash with something someone else already has. The appearance of the weapons are entirely up to you. Some are more traditional weapons, while others are more tools that powers can be channelled through or used to help elevate others' powers if you so choose.
All characters also have the following: Divine Intuition - Something in their mind that helps guide them in the direction that they should go, particularly when being drawn towards the other successors or to help find where they need to be in the next part of their quest. Enhanced Durability - They can take more hits than a regular human and don't tire so easily. This does not, however, make them impervious. They are still mortals, after all.

Further explanation for each power so it's more clear what they entail.
Atmokinesis - Control and manipulation of the weather, in a designated area. Excellent for dramatic effect when using the lightning bolts. Telekinesis & Mind Influence - Move objects with the mind, and also subtly influence others through their mind to affect relationships and decisions (although not with other Successors). Hydrokinesis - Control and manipulation of water in most forms, including freezing and boiling. Turn the tides in your favour. Shadow Manipulation - The shadows are yours to command, alongside being able to hide in the shadows and move between them without being spotted. Solarkinesis - Use the power of the sun to bend light, form shields, or absorb it to unleash an attack. Unfortunately considerably weaker at night. Lunakinesis - Use the power of the moon to force sleep, encourage truth to be told, or absorb it to unleash an attack. Unfortunately considerably weaker in daytime. Super Speed & Levitation - Travel faster than anyone. Even vehicles you drive bypass the limit and everything around you seems to slow down and/or jump out of the way. With levitation, you can even float/fly around seven feet in the air, zipping around with ease combined with your super speed. Illusions - Creating visual and audio illusions to disorient and trick others. Especially that which might be the target's heart's desire, which you are also able to see. Super Strength - What it says on the tin. A boulder is like a pebble to you. Sometimes brute force is just the way to get things done, and luckily, that's a piece of cake for you. Divine Wisdom/Strategy - Blessed with strategic genius, you can form a plan that will ensure success... provided everyone follows it. You are also blessed - or perhaps burdened - with divine knowledge about the Titans, Gods and the creatures that will be coming to hunt you and the other Successors. Pyrokinesis - From a gentle cooking fire to a blaze, control and manipulate fire, much like the hearth Hestia represents. Not to be messed with, your fire is equally helpful and dangerous. Plant Manipulation - Control and manipulation of plants. From reviving a sickly houseplant to blessing a field of wheat - but also being able to wilt and doom the harvest. Such is the cycle. Metal Manipulation - Metal will bend to your will. Melt it and reforge it into something more useful. Or useless for the enemy. Disguise Self & Voice Mimicry - Look and sound like anyone, for trickery or mischief purposes. Even be able to throw your voice as a distraction. A theatrical nature will be very helpful. Necromancy - Temporarily resurrect the dead, whether for information, additional soldiers, distractions or to allow for a final goodbye. Can also sap lifeforce from those you make skin contact with, using it to heal oneself or another (again via skin contact).
Domains will be discovered in the roleplay. Domains are, to put it simply, pocket dimensions of sorts. Each one pertains to a different God, and have multiple entrances/exits, so there's not just one way to access them, Such entrances can be in all parts of the world, so remember which one you came through, or you may end up in a different country. They are also where the Gods are able to manifest themselves physically (although we perhaps won't quite use that feature in-roleplay). Successors will certainly feel a closer connection to their patron God in these places, however, not just in their Gods' specific domain, but also those that are aligned closely, and may receive aid in such places.
Only the Successors can enter the Domains, so a regular human stepping through what would be an entrance will do nothing. This, however, does include the Titan Successors, but the Domain will do its best to reject evil.
Examples of such Domains could be Demeter's Grove, Hestia's Hearth, or Hephaestus' Forge. Each player can come up with the Domain for the God that their character is the successor of if they would like.
Throughout the quest, the characters will also have to learn to work and fight together. The Successors' divine intuitions must be carefully attuned so that they can first find their tokens for the entrance to the Underworld. Gaining such tokens, however, will be no easy task, as the Successors will find themselves tested and made to realise themselves. Oh, and they're being tracked by the Titan Successors, who are under instruction to stop them no matter what.
The Successors' ultimate goal is travelling down to Tartarus, where they will use their powers to reseal the Titans in their cages. To get there, however, they will first have to gain entry into the Underworld. Short of dying - which won't help anyone - they will have to take the long way down. No compass or map, just their divine intuition. They will also require a token each, which look like ancient silver coins, each with a different image.
To get their tokens, each Successor will, at some point, find themselves undergoing a test. Perhaps a test of strength, or willpower, or courage, or something else. Something that will challenge them, push them to their breaking point and have them come out the other side either utterly defeated, or with a newfound strength and, perhaps, a lesson learned.
The Titan Successors will be NPCs that will be brought in and used as and when they become relevant. These eight have been corrupted, almost possessed, by the Titans, granted great power. Defeating them and breaking the Titans' grip on them will help greatly in weakening the Titans when it comes to resealing them later.
Chronokinesis - the control of time, whether stopping someone in their tracks, slowing someone down or speeding up the growth of a plant. Requires contact with a hand/foot or with weapon. Light Manipulation - Much like solarkinesis, using light to form attacks, shields, etc. Future Visions/Prophecy - Able to receive brief visions of future events that may or may not occur. May also help in locating where certain people are/will be. Celestial Energy - the manipulation of energy from the stars, calling upon certain constellations for various attacks. Memory Manipulation - Affect the memory of the person they are in direct contact with. Can also bring forward unpleasant memories to distract and disorient target. Pain Manipulation - Can make pain feel worse or better than it actually is, whether to make a target overly confident or incapacitate them. Aerokinesis - control and manipulation of air/wind.
The Titan Successors' powers will develop and grow in strength over the roleplay. As NPCs, anyone can use them, particularly in fight/actions scenes so you aren't waiting for me/someone else to respond with them - basically, play of them passes onto whoever interacts with them.
Awakening happens quite quickly. The Successor 'blacks out' and in the void, they hear the voice of their unexpected patron God/Goddess, who explains briefly about what is happening, and instructions to find the other Successors, and to trust their intuition. They'll then 'wake up' in the exact position they were in when they blacked out, this time holding their gifted weapon, and a sudden sense of being 'powered up', instinctively knowing how their weapon works and knowing what their power is. For their power, they'll know the basics, but throughout the roleplay, will get to explore its extent and uses.
Secondary blessings will also be discovered throughout the roleplay, in the form of either a secondary power, weapon or other object of sorts. We can discuss these to figure out what they'll be for each individual character, to make sure they don't clash with something another character has (perhaps Apollo's Successor will discover some form of healing/music power, for example).
Spectators will have a blink-and-you've-missed-it moment, where the Awakened will suddenly be holding their granted weapon, as if no time has actually passed.
A very basic sheet if you'd like to use it (you're welcome to add to it/use your own): Name | Age | Gender | Role Sexuality: Power: Weapon: Appearance: (written description, if not using an image)
Personality:
Short Bio:
Power - The assigned power and a secondary power if previously discussed with me. Weapon - The assigned weapon, plus a description/image link to what it looks like. Bio - Aside from usual bio inclusions such as family, growing up, interests and job, if you decide to have your character already Awakened, briefly describe how that happened as well (where they were, what attacked them (i.e. a monster such as harpies or sirens, or one of the Titan Successors)).
Rules - One or two reasonable paragraphs per character. Don't feel as though you have to write multiple long paragraphs, I'd prefer something that would help keep the story going rather than prose that goes nowhere. - Realistic FCs or a written description for appearance. Please no AI generated images (or writing). - Character ages 21+, no upper limit. - Post at least once or twice a week per character.
Character Name - Seraphina Stoneveil Alias - Sera Archetype - Cryptid (I think?) - Gorgon Age - 27 Day/Night Job - Archivist Powers - Stone Sight - while it's not permanent, it's still undoubtedly uncomfortable for the victim. She can control it, but typically wears sunglasses just in case. Veil - she has a veiling spell on her that allows her to take a more human appearance to other humans until they have had other contact/experience with the supernatural or she drops it around them. Skills - Negotiation, unexpected strength, disguise/veiling herself, locator of information - she can find what you're looking for, either in her archive or elsewhere, for a price. Weaknesses - Fire in particular, tends to avoid bright light too if she can help it, but does like things kept warm. Beheading if you want to get extreme. Freezing cold shuts her down too. Personality - Calm, confident, unnerving, trustworthy, protective. Appearance - Seraphina's 'hair' is made up of several snakes that are mostly gold, with a few bronze ones, reaching to her mid-back when they are relaxed. Her eyes are a pale, milky-blue colour with no discernible pupil. She stands at 5'11'', making her considerably taller than what would be considered average for adult women, and she has a lithe, yet athletic build. She holds herself with a semi-formal posture, not being too rigid, but certainly not relaxed either. She has medium-dark skin tone, with gold scales in patches on her face, neck, arms, torso and legs. She has a heart face shape, with high cheekbones. She also has fangs. In her 'human disguise', her hair looks like dark brown braids, and her eyes dark brown with a pupil. She also does not have scales or fangs. Seraphina can typically be found wearing a long, flowy maxi dresses that have a halter top, with pale gold chiffon overlays. She also wears a gold, snake-like arm cuff that wraps up her left arm and gold sandal-like shoes that also wrap halfway up her calf. She always wears elegant sunglasses, to help prevent her accidentally using her stone sight on someone.
BRIEF Bio - Grew up in Darkwater, careful to remain hidden from humans by learning the veiling/disguising spell so that she would look like a normal human around them. She took a great interest in her parents' private library, which was filled with books about a variety of creatures and supernatural beings - including some ancient ones and ones that are thought to be extinct. She would often be caught sneaking into it, picking one of the books at random and spending time just reading them. Her parents, being a couple of hundred years old and were travellers in their youth (although they are still considered fairly young by gorgon standards), amassed quite the vast collection.
Seraphina inherited the library from her parents when they chose to leave Darkwater to travel to Greece some years ago. She turned it into the Stoneveil Archives. A sort of underground if you know, you know kind of thing. While it's not for public browsing, Seraphina typically helps others find information that they're looking for in her archive, but it always comes with a price. Sometimes it's a new book that she doesn't have, sometimes it's a three-tailed mouse for her snakes, or something else entirely.
Story Arcs - Information Location - her main purpose, most likely repeating. Seraphina is visited and asked to help find some information on someone or something, and she accepts the request, and names her price. Over time, she'll warm up to frequent customers and even do them favours. We can discuss a pre-established relationship of this kind too. (Group) Threatened Archive - after refusing to help a villain that is seeking something dangerous/forbidden, her and her archive is threatened. She, reluctantly, seeks help or guidance to help protect both her integrity and her archive. Probably something that's later on in the roleplay. (Team Up or Group) Third Story Arc (WIP)
Supporting Characters - Customers of all varieties (other cryptids/supernatural beings, hunters, etc.), a currently undetermined villain, a group (Scooby Gang?) or someone she'll approach for help, additional other players. Additional Notes - WIP
Here we go! Figured we could have a source of information that slowly warms up to the heroes over time. I'm still working on a few details, such as additional story arcs, but I hope she's okay so far.
I love how much interest this has gotten. I'm a little busy today, but tonight or tomorrow I'll get an OOC up. I definitely have an idea for a Persephone successor, and I'll see what other successors are left afterwards.
@shylarah Characters would be at least 21+. The idea for me is that they're young adults, perhaps have already established lives/careers for themselves. The starting point of the roleplay I'm kind of thinking that some characters would already be Awakened (established/described in their character sheet), and then meeting up with another successor that hasn't Awakened yet as they're about to be attacked (and that would be played out in the roleplay). I thought that would be a good way to get interactions going from the jump. Then there'd be a timeskip to a larger location that the successors have travelled to (divine intervention helping them get there). This would be something like Central Park in NYC or Hyde Park in London. A big open space where it's not going to be too unusual for a large group to meet up/form. I'm hoping that the roleplay will be a steady pace. Enough time for everyone to interact with one another, but also not so slow that they're dwelling in the same spot forever.
Hopefully that all makes sense!

For everyone, thanks for the interest! Just to be clear, the characters aren't related biologically to the Gods, they are chosen as 'successors', deemed worthy and strong enough to be bestowed some of their power.
Additionally, it would be one character/successor per God. Successors do not have to be the same gender as the God/Goddess they were chosen by. Nor do they have to follow any specific relationships between them (for example, Zeus and Hera's Successors don't have to be/get married - the exception is Apollo and Artemis, for whom I would strongly encourage that they are at least siblings if not twins). However, also remember that they would have been chosen by particular Gods/Goddesses for a reason - for example, the famously virgin Goddesses Athena, Artemis and Hestia would be more likely to choose female Successors.
For generations, the Greek Gods - 15 of them, anyway - have chosen successors for their powers and titles. So far I'm considering eight of them, based on Chronos/Kronos, Oceanus, Hyperion, Coeus, Crius, Mnemosyne, Iapetus, and messenger of the Titans, Arke. (Oceanus and Mnemosyne were not imprisoned in mythology but shhhhh) These eight have been corrupted, almost possessed, by the Titans, granted great power. Defeating them and breaking the Titans' grip on them will help greatly in weakening the Titans when it comes to resealing them later.
I would say a maximum of two characters per person, depending on interest. I would love to know which Successor interested players would like to play, and any questions you may have about the roleplay. I'd be looking at playing the Persephone Successor and either the Poseidon or Aphrodite Successor.
This sounds very interesting. I will have to see what else I can cook up for ideas, but my initial thought is a sort of blend between Poison Ivy and Audrey II. Think a green human body with vines growing out, twisting around their arms and legs, vine/leafy 'hair' and a venus fly trap/Audrey II-style head.
A second idea is an older gentleman that is a horror/mystery novelist. Depending how widely-known the supernatural are meant to be, perhaps is oblivious to the existence of them or has somehow missed the memo. Anyone with non-human features is regarded as a 'talented cosplayer'.
