Draco and Kassy too.
Name:Jinayah Ifriti
AKA: Jin, "The Mechanic"
Age: 16
Race: Human
Appearance:
A short, scowling, dark skinned young girl. Rail thin, barely 5 feet tall, black hair and very dark, very wary eyes.
Faction: (Juvenile) Criminal
Role in Team?: Apprentice Mechanic
Bio: Jin could have had a great future. She was always a smart child, curious and running circles around her classmates in most subjects. However, any chance at greatness died along with her parents when she was about 8. The rough streets of an Earth slum raised her from there - her brilliance turned toward survival and then criminal acts of increasing talent and illegality. When she was 15, and freshly sentenced after a 4th (almost successful) escape attempt, the Council came to her with a choice: waste in isolation prison due to an extended sentence, or join the crew of the Monroe. If she can until 18 without mishap or death, her record will be sealed, and she can start her adult life as a brand new person. Realizing this would likely be her only chance to do something else in life, she took the offer. Time will tell if she lives to adulthood.
Personality: Foul mouthed, disrespectful, and has a chip on her shoulder the size of a computer. Once you get past that, she's still the same curious person she's been all her life - eager to learn and full of questions. Deep, deep beneath that is a scared, lonely child who really wants to just feel safe again one day, but realizes she doesn't remember how "safe" feels anymore.
Weapon(s): None, but she knows how to use various guns, and once refurbished a small microwave as an ion cannon.
Star-fighter?: None.
Family/Relationship?: No one left that she cares to think about.
Other: Young Jin has a long rap sheet and an always active brain. The Captain will have an extensive list of things not to leave her alone with, as well as access to the disarming shock anklet she wears 24/7. She has tried to break, hack, or otherwise disable this anklet multiple times, and is determined to beat it.
Achieng is totally going to give him a hug, because she's completely certain he's an embarrassed teenager.

Speaking of embarrassed teenagers, I should make an attempt to work on that other idea I have.
Achieng let out a mild sigh, wishing she'd spoken up sooner. She'd been so puzzled by the 'doctor' and his overeager display that she could not find the words to interrupt. That poor boy must be mortified. Anyone would, with that kind of strange treatment. She would have to find him later and apologize. With the child run off and the doctor left alone, Achi politely maneuvered her tank around the crowd. "Pardon me, I have to get inside before I start drying out in this air."

When she passed the strange doctor, she muttered to him in a low voice. "That was very rude, you know." Not the best, but it would do. Once she was on the ship properly, she held back her urge to explore it, and went right to her own designated room. There was a large tank already full with water, and she checked the acidity and temperature balance before lining her tank up with the entrance. Once she was in position, a valve opened and pulled her through into the blissfully cool water. "Ahhhh, finally." She swam around her new room, checking every corner of the large tank. Someone on the council had a passing familiarity with her species, it seemed; she'd been left a few decorations, small statues and cloths that made her feel rather homey. "Very nice."

Once she was done settling in, she decided to test the communications system. The Captain would be the first call. "Hello Captain Raymond. Whenever we are fully aloft and traveling, I would like to schedule primary visits for each of the crewmembers. You're included. I'm sure they will be reluctant, so I would hope that perhaps you would like to go first? Show the crew I'm no one to fear, hm?" She'd had poor reactions to her sessions before. People with weapons and power were never truly used to having to speak for what they had done.
I'm going to make a post about Achi getting in and setting up before therapy starts.
Yikes. Try not to drink too much. Also... PHILosophy? Yeah, that sounds like a bit of a cash grab.

In any case, full time job is going alright. I'm starting to balance out my life a bit more. I really want to succeed this time, and that means making sure I take care of myself and just don't fall into a pattern of constant work and no enjoyment for myself. Actually using the money I'm working so hard for will help. (Not to say I won't save, but I'm not going to guilt myself over some new books or a game.) I've got to learn not to just drop my hobbies. So I'm going to try and be more active with my RPs.

Also I'm getting married in T-minus 7 weeks and counting! So there's that, which is good but also stressful as all fuck. Bringing up some family shit too.
Hm... It looks like Titanpad will be unavailable by May, slated for shutdown by the end of this year. I think we'll have to find a new collab system. I don't mind Google docs myself, because I can actually use it on my phone. How about you all?
