Anemia sucks. I feel like there's an invisible vampire sucking my energy through a straw.

You guys wanna post without me for a bit? Seems right now the most interesting exchange is between you two, without me mucking around. ;)
While the walls brightened and their paintings took on stark contrast, Sunny paused on the stairs to stare back at Laphicet with a slackened jaw. He was glowing! Like something ethereal or divine, the kid emanated a brilliant light from within himself to guide their way. Sunny grinned a little, fondly; the metaphor hadn't escaped her.

Thinking of wizards and monsters and stars and home, Sunny continued farther down the winding staircase.

Laphi's light revealed still more of their surroundings as they descended; the primitive artwork of the higher rocks -- depicting handprints and symbolized people and forests and monsters -- soon gave way to colorful mosaics of intricate design. Blues and yellows and reds, violets and greens, shone brilliantly in the white light. Together the small stones created images of huge godlike figures basked in radiance, destroyed cities, people carrying jugs of water up winding stairs, the white towers of a prosperous civilization gleaming in starlight.

Sunny gaped at the beautiful mosaics, so distracted that she stumbled when she finally reached the bottom of the stairs. The floor was a shining obsidian that perfectly reflected Laphi's light -- yet still the farthest reaches of the room were shrouded in shadow.

"Who's there?" a man's voice echoed out of the darkness, quick and suspicious. "Identify yourselves, strangers! Who dares open the way? You'll let loose --"

"KREEEEEE!"

Sunny spun around, pressing her torch in the direction of this new echo; out of the darkness a pair of shining white eyes stared steadily down at them from high above, moving back and forth, flicking dangerously. Quieter were the sounds of clacking talons and shifting feathers.

Only Aro would distinctly recognize the call of a griffin.
I read through this and went "this is friggin awesome!!" and thought I should let you know. This is friggin awesome. :D

I'mma sub, even if I can't play I'm interested to see where this goes!
The fox had only noticed that Arthur seemed distracted by the house, but she didn't look at the window nor ask what he saw. She was, after all, convinced that he was a bit traumatized from his experience and bewildered by the place in which he now found himself.

"Well, that's nothin' easy -- but nothin' you can't handle," she said, encouraging, and she patted his head with a clawed wing. "She stays locked up in her room nowadays, singing -- you can sometimes hear her when it's quiet. You'll know it if ya hear it."

The fox's voice could be heard clearly, if slightly muffled, within the cottage. Nina scurried around the floor of the kitchen, snuffling in the corners for the hope of a morsel of food. She scratched and whined at a cupboard door, behind which was a covered cake plate full of buttercream cupcakes.

The fox continued: "You take that elevator down to the library, and you follow the eyes. If anythin' tries to stop you, you just gotta tell them you're not afraid, and you gotta mean it. That'll stop 'em in their tracks. And when ya find the gold lady -- well, she's got nobody to talk to. You're a good listener -- she'll like you."

Within the cottage, a small voice squeaked that only Riley could hear: "Lies!" a little mouse poked its nose out of a breadbox on the counter, wriggling. "The gold lady is the terror that keeps us all prisoner! Only her death will free us! We all used to be like you. Children! Children! But now with teeth and tails, we forget who we were, but I remember! I remember! The caged nightingale song of the gold lady! Don't listen, don't listen!"
@Adalea It's never too late to join! :D Welcome! Go ahead and post up a character. It might be awhile before you'll be set to post though: we're doing a small adventure for each character's introduction, which means every character will have to be on standby until it's time for their intro adventure. Right now it's Pie's intro!

@LordofthePies Awesome! You up for posting next, or waiting on Jade? ;)
