5/2022: [Explicitive language] What I thought would be a week or two long phase of AFK-ness turned into two [almost three] months. Totally my bad for this happening. If you are reading this and have/had an RP going which still interests you, please let me know.

3/2022: Barely treading the waters of life right now - Replies will be much slower than usual. I'm extremely sorry and appreciate any patience and understanding offered from my RP Partners.

Welcome! I'm a girl who has been RPing and doing a lot of other nerdy things for 20 years. PM if you want to know even more!

I try not to just disappear but clearly have failed in this before. Real life gets the better of me and depression+diabetes+anxiety have a tendency to sap time away. Best way to reach me is Discord, touch base if you notice I haven't responded. I truly appreciate those who have helped keep me interested through OOC conversation!

I am also:
• Working Full-Time and struggling to maintain decent blood sugars
• Female, poly, demi/pan, and typically very difficult to offend
• A video gamer (primarily WoW, STO, ESO, Fallout4, 40k:Inquisitor - PC & XB1)
• A rennie (two guilds; First is Landscknecht group called Heiligensturm and the second is a Baroque French Privateer group called Clan Dark Sail)
• A Warhammer player/painter (gasp! 40k armies include Eldar/Ynnari and Thousand Sons::AoS Gloomspite Gitz *squee*)
• A seamstress (historical clothing and quilting primarily)
• A cook! Well, home cook. Recipes are more like guidelines anyways

"Petragar Stoneweaver," the dark skinned dwarf stepped forward, offering her hand to the gnome that was not much shorter than herself. She had been nervous, seeing the two tall elves making their way to the same guild hall as she had been called to. Seeing a gnome helped to calm those nervous though her expression maintained a stoic neutral expression. "Most have taken te'callin' me Petra though."
@Zillanilla How will we proceed if no one chooses to be the living being beyond the door?

NPC?
@Kazemitsu that would certainly get her attention XD
@Moonshadow
Is Lilry part of the lizardman tribe Karn and Root are a part of?

No - she was part of a smaller tribe that got killed off/chased apart by [mystery creature or adventuring party-yet to be decided upon]

The lizardfolk shaman dropped down from the boulder she had been perched upon to eat, taking up her staff and contemplating which route to pursue for her hunt. To the West was a tunnel leading to the underground lake, a great opportunity for some fresh fish while equally risky should there be other, larger, creatures about. She could go North to the more established ruins of the dungeon with a higher probability for catching some rats and bats, maybe even a few larger rodents.

Scaled lips curved in consideration as her yellow eyes looked to the Southern tunnel which wound deeper into the dungeon. She had yet to traverse that route very long, it twisted and turned and forked. While she trusted she could manage to find her way back home she did not trust that the undiscovered routes would be safe since she was now separated from her tribe.

Deciding to take the route most familiar to her the 7-foot lizard woman made her way West down the tunnel than slightly South when the path divided. Lilry slung her staff over her shoulders to keep her limbs free and make her way down the rocks to the edge of the water. Her yellow eyes scanned the area for any larger predator before settling down and wrapping a length of thinly wound plant thread to the crooked end of her stave. After tying a dead insect to the end with a length of metal she had bent into a hook she tossed the line into the water and waited.
Really though you'll get the best results if you can find a bunch of people like me for whom RPing is the main or better yet only source of entertainment and who thus want to do it all the time. Like not once a week to change things up in between doing other stuff. Not when they are bored of doing all the other things they do and go "Well gosh. I guess I might as well post. Nothing better to do." But as their main and primary source of fun.

People like that will check the forums constantly and get off multiple posts a day and just keep the game going and fun like crazy. They actually form a community around the game and push each other to play like real friends.

I used to have a group like that back in the day. And frankly its something you have to experience to understand. It's like a high basically. But that was many years ago. And I think I'll newer find a group like that again.

So if you do find one don't let them go. You'll be regretting it for the rest of your life.

That rush of back-and-forth roleplay is a high I sincerely miss. I don't mind when a couple days pass without much story progress, so long as OOC activity is still there. Part of why I have ventured here is the longing for more activity in stories. My last RP group has, understandably, dwindled greatly in activity both IC and OOC.

I think where I get caught up is character building - I either get too many ideas or start with one that sounds fun but quickly gets cliché or trope-y. I can also get easily distracted in the details that are less story driven and more aesthetic driven.
Decisions, decisions. Lol

I'm leaning a bit more towards the elf, tbh. I haven't played on in a while and a pyromancer sounds like fun. I'll build more on her when work calms down again
@Bitterblue111

Ok, so two character ideas from me:

Elf mage/fighter - fire themed spells, bow, and long sword for melee.
Having trouble coming up with spell consequences aside from legit burning her up. Which, could be an interesting trait; she'd had burn scars along her arms already, maybe charcoal'd flesh? Her clothes would have to be magically imbued to keep from searing off anytime she uses magic, thay sort of thing. Due to the painful ramifications of her magic, she took up physical combat skill sets so she wouldn't be 100% reliant on spells.

Dwarf fighter/barbarian - big "af" axe or warhammer (for a Dwarf), mildly armored, hit them hard so they can't hit back kind of vibes. if any magic ability is there it comes in the form of his/her primal rages (ie path of the beast 5e) consequences: tapping into this ability leaves lingering "beast marks" in the form of fangs/sharp teeth, extra hair/fur on body, or claws -- not sure if that borders too closely to how the shifters work though

Let me know you thoughts and/or if one of them fits better for the setting :)

I wonder who will be a good drinking buddy for Koth?

I knew I should have gone with my half-orc barbarian, she loves to drink
