Dorothy Pender

Location: Cargo Bay

Dorothy held in a bit of a chuckle as she observed Harper's awkward entrance, the sound of his footsteps alerting her of his arrival a few seconds in advance. It was almost reassuring, seeing that small bit of humanity in the man. And at the same time, it was comforting. He didn't seem to be nearly as eccentric as the other former Alliance members, members that Dorothy assumed would be staying with them for the foreseeable future. She shook her head slightly as Harper asked whether there was a meeting being held in the Cargo Bay. Of course, Dorothy did feel a bit frustrated that more people weren't present - her sister, mainly, who needed to both get a decent lecture and punishment, as well as bring her own things down.

"Shiny," Dorothy replied to Harper, nodding as he grabbed the Black Box. It felt a little bit odd, still, for him to inform her of his actions - but she'd need to get used to it, if she was going to be second in command. It also felt strange not being in charge of medical anymore, but strange seemed to be the new normal on the ship. She watched Harper exit, after a quick exchange with the Doctor (who was still talking about vices with the barber), when she heard Atticus chimed in and audibly gagged.

"You've had enough vices for a lifetime, Preacher," Dorothy teased, a bit of a twinkle in her eyes. But of course, she was more focused on his offer of help, something that couldn't be overlooked. With all of the boxes quickly piling up in the cargo bay, there was no way she'd be able to move them all herself in time. "And yes, help would be just shiny. We need to move all of these boxes to holding dock the Captain rented." An extra pair of hands would help to speed things along, but a few other ones would help as well. But for now, she'd make do with Atticus.

And maybe give him a lecture on alcoholism on the way to and from the holding dock. For his education, of course. And safety. Not at all to get him riled up.

Fitz Townsley

Location: Town

Had Fitz been desperately hoping to head onto Daphne's ship and sail away with her, he would have been crushed. He would have been gutted. But given that he just bumped into her in the street, he felt more awkward about his question than anything else. Despite her assurances that she wasn't too busy and that he wasn't wasting her time, he felt like he was making a nuisance out of himself. He forced a smile back at her, nodding as she finished her explanation.

"Th-that's alright, I think I'll be able to m-manage somehow," Fitz replied, laughing a bit uneasily. Maybe he'd look for her and her ship in a few days. Maybe he'd already be on another vessel. As long as he got to get out and see the world, he thought he'd be happy. There had to be other patient and kind people like Daphne, and if not, he'd have to learn to face his fears eventually.

Though he wasn't really looking forward to that.

"If I'm still h-here in a few days, what ship should I look for?" Fitz then asked, figuring it wouldn't hurt to have a back up plan. He was an engineer, after all. He always came up with alternative solutions and contingency plans. It was in his nature, as much a part of him as that nervous stutter was.
@mnkee Approved ^_~ Move him over. Will need base relations with at least Éd, let's throw in his fiancée too (and any other characters in the RP he may have met ^^)

Cecily Ashworth

Location: Justice Asylum For The Criminally Insane: the Ludwig Building (Crime Scene)

Cecily had heard the SWAT team leader as she headed for the murder scene, adding that to the mental checklist of things to do before she could get some food and head back to work. Thankfully, though, the forensic technicians seemed to have finished up bagging and tagging. All that was left to do was for her to sign off, and then allow the scene to be cleaned up.

"Thank you all so much," Cecily said to the team, knowing from experience how tiresome and unappreciated the grunt work of forensics was. Many of them used to be her co-workers, people that she'd head to scenes with and quietly complain about Wallace. In many ways, it was surreal. The coroner job was never one that she had wanted, despite her college professors and even her best friend/roommate, William, trying to convince her that she'd get bored with the grunt work of running test after test. That she should have gone onto either medical school or graduate school, grab one of the top jobs, and use her head to invent new procedures and methods.

She looked over the evidence that had been collected quickly, checking to make sure that nothing stood out as unusual, before giving her signature and allowing the hospital to clean up the scene. She still needed to grab those tapes, of course, but there wasn't much more need to keep the hospital from cleaning up the bloody mess on the ground. It was an open and shut case, after all, with plenty of witnesses. Cecily didn't even feel that she needed a medical degree to conclude it had been a homicide.

Pulling out her phone, she took a moment to read and reply the texts that she had ignored. Seeing the long stream of texts from Darcy about Iris, Cecily noticed that they seemed to have stopped. She slid her thumb to the left over the conversation and clicked the red x, deleting all of them. She simply didn't have the energy to deal with more on her plate, plus Iris was fine and could tell her brother that herself. Then she read the text from Riley, biting her lip slightly as Riley mentioned she'd be at the hospital. She felt relieved once she saw the text from Roy -- mostly because both he and Riley were safe. Not because the man had a stab wound.

To Riley's phone (not the burner phone), Cecily texted:

Sorry for not replying sooner! Things got pretty hectic... I'm not sure Marc is going to want to meet with me. ^^; But that's fine. Stay safe, okay? Things are getting dangerous. -C.A.

To Roy's phone, Cecily texted:
Got it, Batman. Just remember you aren't Wolverine, okay? -C.A.

Putting her phone away, Cecily ran a hand through her hair. She felt beyond stressed, thanks to everything that was going on. The prospect of going to graduate or medical school looked pretty good in hindsight, but she knew she wouldn't have changed her mind. She became a forensic technician early on in order to discern the truth through science. She was doing the work that she loved to do, work that needed to get done. She closed her eyes for a second, knowing that if she shut them too much longer she'd start to get sleepy.

"Okay. Security footage next. Think they said that was in the administration building. And after that, statements to the SWAT team leader."

Iris Kingston

Location: Justice Asylum For The Criminally Insane: the Ludwig Building (Hallway of Hell)

Iris accepted Agent Tinder's card, feeling a bit perplexed as the man whispered in her ear. His breath tickled slightly and she nodded at him, finding some hope in the look of determination that colored his eyes. She said farewell to him as he took the files and left the scene, tugging a bit on her hair for a moment. So much had happened that evening and she couldn't even think of what to do next. Her mind was a blur of thoughts and ideas, and while the psychiatrists normally asked the orderlies to do this and to do that, Iris couldn't help but wish an orderly would give her some sense of direction here. She was new to this, after all.

She wasn't certain if the SWAT team member would need a statement from her - she had been hiding in Cynthia's room, per Agent Tinder's instructions, for the majority of the kidnapping. But she had witnessed the beginning of it and she had some information about Cynthia's kidnapper. For instance, she knew an alias of the woman - Jenny Green - and had a good idea of what she looked like. A fully formed image in her head, of course, thanks to a photographic memory.

Iris then gave her statement to the SWAT team leader, mentioning everything that she could recall - all the way from Cynthia gouging out Felix's eye to the moment when Agent Tinder went after 'Jenny Green' and Cynthia, instructing Iris to remain behind in the room. "I hope that helps," Iris said as she finished, looking uneasily at the SWAT team. "Is there anything I could do you for, messieurs?"
I'll update once @Pundii gets a post in ^_^

Also, I am working on an Official Guide to the Abandoned Hope Universe, since we have a lot of lore at this point. It includes a timeline and for those of you who were in Abandoned Hope, you know a lot happened in that RP and a lot more will also happen in this RP. If you'd like to send me a PM to "nominate" an event to put on the timeline, that'd be sweet. ^_^
Update will come today or tomorrow, along with special instructions for Nallore and Blue ^_^
Will get a post up for Cecily and Iris at some point today ^_^
