To all my players and writing partners; Don't worry! I've not vanished or forgotten you. I've had something come up, and will be taking the rest of this week off from my RPs. See you next week!

@pugbutter So yes we arte thy faces.

The Ventrue would be the face. Your character would be more of the brains. The Ventrue can make social issues go away with vampire magic among mortals, and prestige associated with his clan among kindred.

Thin-bloods tend to cause as many issues socially as they solve. Making a thin-blood the face of the group, in any capacity that deals with other kindred, would be like painting a 'shoot me' sign on yourself. Likewise, while you can be good at dealing with humans socially, a thin-blood will never match a ventrue for sheer charisma.
@pugbutter Seems Dark is wanting a smart/social character, too. The two of you would probably get along well... And I've got an idea for a third that, I think, would really bring the group together as a unit.
<Snipped quote by Necroes>

Yeah an SoB is fine. Its not hard to assume that with pilgrims on board, there's probably more than one member of the Ministorum among them. My only thing would be not to make them a Repentia since that's a pretty tall order and sort of permanent. I would suggest instead they're doing a personal penitence crusade or holy duty.

You just don't want to give me an Eviscerator.

Which is completely fair. XD
I probably know the answer, but I'll ask anyway;

Would a Sister of Battle be an option? Say, Order of the Argent Shroud. The ecclesiarch would want a representative onboard, and a sister in a self-imposed Repentia would be a great guard for a priest looking to start a church.
@pugbutter So, Dark is looking at making a thin-blood alchemist. Assuming you're okay with my idea to intro your character, I've got a pretty solid foundation as setting up the group as essentially outcasts that are put up with because the local prince really can't afford to dismiss anything that even vaguely resembles a resource, no matter how weird they are, as long as they don't threaten the masquerade.

So, what 'role' (for lack of a better term) would you ventrue be filling?
@pugbutter Essentially; The current in-game year would be in the early 2000's. Characters from an earlier time would be the result of a specific Prince deciding to stake a bunch of licks to use as a personal back-up army in the event some foreign power ever came to blows with him. With that Prince recently losing power, the current Prince decides the local vampire population needs to be increased after the events that lost the last Prince their throne. So, the reserve-licks get awakened, coming off of ice and getting tossed into the modern world.
@pugbutter Honestly, running a DMPC, I'd be playing something to offset the rest of the group. If we need a social character, I can do that. If we need a combat character, I can do that. If we need a stealth character, I can do that.

As soon as Dark and I figure out what he wants to bring to the table, though, I'll let you know. Guessing you're still looking at a tremere?
@pugbutter Still interested? You never answered my question, so just thought I'd check. I'm teaching Dark the rules, and he's picking it up fast. If you're okay with running with a DMPC for a little while, then we should be good to start at some point soon.
@Dark Cloud Can you use any sort of instant message service? KiK, chatzy, I think a few e-mail systems allow for instant messaging. Just anything that would let me text you in real-time instead of through forum style posts. We Could do it all through PMs, it would just take longer.

Also, are you able to peruse the link I gave, and is so, do you have any questions about the world/setting as a result?
@pugbutter How for/against the storyteller running a character in their own game would you be? DMPC is the usual term, though not sure it applies here.

I ask because I think we might get a bit more traction if we can actually get the RP up and running, but I don't want to do it with less than three characters in play. Speaking of;

@Dark Cloud If you're still interested, I think I've come up with a way to build a character for you and to explain the basics of the system. As long as you can use some manner of instant messenger (discord, for example) then I think we could pull it off. As for information about the setting:
It's not perfect, but this wiki is a good start. At the very least, it will give you a good idea of what you're looking at, in terms of lore.
