It’s the time of year when I’m ready to find myself a cabin in the woods. I’ll even take THE cabin in the woods as long as I don’t have to deal with people

Bio

the writer

  • I was a theatre kid!
  • non fluent polyglot
  • paramedic
  • B horror film lover
  • Dogs are life.

the role player

  • I like most genres.
  • But I really love superheroes, apparently.
  • I'm big on character driven stories and all the twists and turns that come from that.
  • I tend towards darker, grittier stories, or lighter stories with liberal amounts of dark humour. There is little you can do to throw me off.
  • I enjoy writing explicit scenes, but they are not an essential ingredient. I'm here for the story first and foremost.
  • I will try my best to give you what I get in terms of post length.
  • I reuse my characters, settings, and plot points with different people sometimes. You are welcome to do the same.
  • In the words of a GM I admire, your spot at the table's secure. Whenever you're up to participating, grab your seat and jump in. (If I love the story we've been writing I don't care how long ago it was since you last posted- if you're ready to get back into it I'll be waiting!)
  • Check out my 1x1 interest check if you want to see what I'm specifically looking to role play right now. That being said, pitch away if you think I might like it.

Sorry everyone, my modem decided to tank it.

I’m not in a major rush to start up. If anyone is keen to get going right away just let me know, I think the Walking Dead lends itself well to introducing new characters along the way.

@josephb Please feel free!

@Sola What am I weighing in on? I’ve been ignoring @Katthaj WIP for now as I wasn’t sure if it was just a placeholder, but I would definitely prefer to have “ordinary” people.

@Danvers I don’t know if I missed you, but please feel free!
@Frenzy forgot to @ you, sorry!
@alexfangtalon No worries! This’ll be set shortly after the start of the outbreak.
@alexfangtalon Multiple PCs are on a case by case basis, so pitch away and I’ll let you know. Connected NPCs are totally fine.
@MissCapnCrunch Looks good.
@Sola
Looks good, you can post it in the character tab if you’d like.
Because there wasn't a lot of interest for the Fallout aspect, I am leaving it out entirely right now, although further down the line we can take a look at shaking things up.

Click here for the role play. No knowledge of the Walking Dead franchise is necessary.

It was jeans and t-shirt weather today, though the grey clouds threatened to rain down upon the living and the dead alike. There weren't many of either over by the mall, not at this early hour at least; a few corpses, a few abandoned cars, but nothing moving.

Although Lloyd Center Mall had been ransacked many times over, it was still well stocked. Inevitably, a few of... them were always wandering around. The dead seemed to have a memory sometimes: heading out for their weekly excursions to the mall, the grocery store, wherever. No one person could stop for more than a few things before they had to run if they wanted to survive.
Welcome one and all! If you would like to join in, you can post here or PM me with the character concept you have in mind.

You're welcome to include a picture with your character sheet.

I don't have a list of rules. I will write one if things do come up, but I'm hoping I won't have to.

FAQs

So below is my mash up of Walking Dead/Fallout (which I’ve never played and am not familiar with at all). I would be willing to do more than one game if anyone wants to do straight up Walking Dead instead.

Let me know if you’re still interested and I’ll get to work!

The bombs hit. No one knows who fired first. There was a call to cease hostilities, which all parties agreed to... but not Vault Tec. The aftermath of the detonations was the perfect time for them to release their experimental weapons.

Their bio weapons were designed to kill, and kill they did. Problem was... the victims didn’t stay dead. Vault Tec offered the use of their bunkers, to keep people safe from the threat- only once their doors were sealed shut did those who chose “salvation” discover what awaited them. Some societies were normal enough. Others... ended up far too horrific for words.

And it turns out that the Vaults aren’t as secure from their virus as they thought.

Our story starts not in a Vault, but in a run of the mill small town. Well, it was one, before the dead took over. Maybe you’ve been holed up and need supplies; maybe you escaped the nearby Vault; maybe you’re just here to take advantage of whatever situation you find yourself in.
