Rica is a bubbly and excitable girl with a generally positive outlook on life. She is active on the track team and while moderately competitive, prefers competition for the sake of fun rather than for the sake of winning. She is a decent student, her best scores in English and Writing and worst in Biology, but has to study hard to excel. Unfortunately, she detests studying with a passion. Rica is primarily at Academy City for networking opportunities. She wants to be able to get in touch with someone who will provide the resources to create her first bakery and eventually establish a major chain throughout the country. Until then, she is studying to eventually get a degree from culinary school.

Description
Rica has the ability to alleviate injuries of any individual with whom she comes into direct physical contact. Once she touches the individual in question, damaged tissue immediately undergoes rapid cellular division and begins to restore itself to a "normal" state, as specified in the DNA of the target. However, due to the nature of cellular division, the telomeres attached to the target's DNA will be subsequently shortened at a greater rate than normal aging throughout the process of the healing. As a result, the lifespan of healed individuals will be shortened proportionally to the severity of injury sustained. As Rica is always in contact with herself, her ability is perpetually self-active and will be activated upon injury—Rica is exempt from the primary drawback of this ability. Firework exclusively operates on physical injury and cannot heal diseases, including viruses, bacteria, prions, and cancers. Upon activation, the energy input into the cells to allow them to divide as rapidly as necessary will occasionally cause electrons to jump to a random energy level, emitting a photon as they settle into their original stable state; this leads to a myriad of dim multicolored lights flashing at the site of healing that serve no particular purpose—this side effect led to the ability being labeled Firework.



History
Throughout her life, her ability has proven useful to her family and friends, leading to an overexposure to injuries, great and small alike. Because of this history, she has developed an aversion to heavy wounds and develops minor nausea at the sight of someone else's blood; however, she will push through the discomfort if someone is in danger. Because her ability automatically activates upon damage, she has become somewhat desensitized to pain throughout her youth; as a result, this has led to some sloppy habits when handling sharp objects—she has more than once ruined foods she was preparing due to careless knife usage. Her greatest pet peeve is when someone suggests or assumes that she is going into the medical field, and has been shamed in the past for her decision to forgo that career path. Rica is currently pursuing her passion to open a bakery.
