I pride myself on making good characters but damn lol. If a personality section has a on paragraph minimum, then 90% of the bullshit I write to fill space will be outright wrong ten posts in, and not by character development either.

It's a peeve of mine that I'm expected to be able to put my character's personality into words before I even play them. Even if I have a good idea of their personality and character progression arc before I start (which is rare, which is why I can't advanced rp), I struggle to put it into words.

What I've done to get around that is rather than write the personality you believe they should have, write how they may first appear to someone who meets them for the first time. I tend to find that helps a bit when writing personalities.

That said, most of my characters do change and personalities is that section I think is placed in so the GM can see your writing quality.

You're supposed to get them addicted and become their dealer, not pump them with everything and kill them off.

When it Comes to RP Advertising...

I've always found Sig advertising kinda odd unless you're active on the non RP sections. Still, it's better than nothing.

Oh and linking in your Bio is another idea. That's a good way to create a profile of interest and desires.

When it Comes to RP Advertising...

The sidebar always works for a peak hour prompt, bumping or even depleting an old interest check can help, and discord is another way to let people know. (The reason why it prompts you for your email is so GuildBot can cross reference it to your account and assign a member role. Non site members — including spam bots — don't get a role and thus can't post)

If all else fails, close off the RP and create a reboot. Some friends and I have dome that with our NCQ mecha RP and it gave us the added advantage of tweaking lore, characters, and even changing GMs before we start round 2, 3, _{4, 5}.

At this point in time that isn't be something on Mahz's list of to-do things, but it is always an option for the future. Sadly though, he only gets about 5 hours a week free to work on any site stuff, and much of that time is spent bug fixing at the moment. Hopefully that'll change soon enough.

In the meantime, the YouTube tags would be a suitable alternative.

You can download old Photoshop CS2 from Adobe themselves. They released some universal keys for it so you don't need to pay for it. For making avatars and signature images it's totally fine as half the time you only need the crop tool, some brushes, and a few filters. Anyone that says you need the latest kit for hobby stuff like that doesn't know what they are talking about.

The only people who need that gear are professional artists, or graphic designers, and if Google images is the way you collect your resources for a piece of art... then you're not a proper artist.
