2) Ensure you are the legal age of 18 before you participate in any mature roleplays. The staff have and will continue to ban any users who actively choose to partake in a roleplay involving a minor.

@Invader Len we can see from your links that yours was the original, also due to the time stamps of the edits. We will be looking into it and may contact you personally about any issues.

For now, I am going to lock this thread as these matters will now become private and deal with the parties involved.
I do care for the artists like you said, and I do have a tendency to flip my bitch switch when it’s not needed, and it’s something I’m working on. I’m sorry if I came off rude...

It's nice to see an apology, but we do understand your frustrations.

Just remember that when you signed up you would have been given a welcome package PM and it does recommended you read the site rules, which has points about keeping conflicts private, respecting everyone, and even how to address any concerns you may have. Flipping that bitch switch does oven jeopardise your reputation, your original message, and even how the others view you; at which point you may start to break the rules without intending to. :)

I don't think it's a matter of getting permission really. Because obviously it's on the internet and they put it up to get exposure and they're very aware people will save/download/repost whatever. Yes they've put their copyright notice on it in terms of someone not stealing the work to resell.
Its more along the lines of if the original artist finds out that their work is being used on another website and decides not to take legal action and instead requests that the site mod/admin takes it down then they take it down.

Removing it is easy. We either ask the person to remove it, or hide the post completely. In one past case I had an issue with some sensitive pictures so I hid the post, the user edited it, and I unhid the message once they did what they needed.

So it's not really the process for removing that's in question, but the monitoring and questions of what is expected of artist, and what is expected of us site users on a whole.
(Just a general warning, I would recommend not turn this into a meme factory. I've already had to remove a post.)
I believe there is a difference between using an image for a roleplay writing session, and stating that you are the one who created the image in the first place. A large portion of our userbase are not artist, and those who are are amongst the few (By artist I am referring to someone who can make an image that can be sold for at least a couple of dollars, not a signature cropper and banner maker).

With this said, there are two aspects that I have to anyone who claims their artwork may be stolen. Firstly, why did you upload it to the internet in the first place, and more importantly, why was it uploaded without a watermark. The internet is a haven for people hotlinking images and even the Troll face is a copyright listed image, yet I have not seen anyone sued for using that meme face.

Secondly, shouldn't someone be proud that an image was theirs was shared? You wouldn't see the same hate on Pinterest, you wouldn't see the same hate on Tumblr, so why a nobody writing forum? As I said, it's not being sold, it's not being claimed, the person is "admiring" the image enough to write a story about it, and their only mistake was maybe that they found the image on Google image search.

i guess i must've been bleeding in the eye when i saw people advertise their RP 3 times in an hour in the status bar

Yeah... That's a bit of an overkill.
A 24 hour filter could work, but as what Poi said it could be used to spam on a daily basis.

I do feel that clarity in what's available is in need of improvement, but I feel as though there are some other alternatives that would be better suited for discovering what roleplays are open. For starters, a filter on Apply, Open, and Closed would be a suitable option, but in reality not everyone looks at the Roleplay section for an RP they wish to join, but rather the Interest Check section. The interest section is an advertising board and the topics that are at the top are the fresh and current roleplays. Need a boost, bump your interest check thread. Afterall it's there to see if people are interested.

Sadly the Apply, Open, and Closed section assumes that the GM even plays attention to this part of the thread structure. I have seen a large majority of GMs forget this part, or have become too lazy to change it... even if its right there. If you have the players you need and the interest check isn't up at the top anymore, then there is little chance that someone will pop on by and join as the Roleplay Section moves a lot faster and is less explorer friendly than the Interest Checks.
