2) Ensure you are the legal age of 18 before you participate in any mature roleplays. The staff have and will continue to ban any users who actively choose to partake in a roleplay involving a minor.

I'm gonna retract what I said as I may have been mistaken.
If it is the thread and not the member then I do apologise for any miscommunication, but in the context of reading the post it sounds malicious and dark.

I will state the general shit posting in this thread is getting annoying with people now making things personal.

Welcome to the Guild.
Homophobia is a relatively new concept and has really only popped up in the last few years. To expect the entire population of the world to change their views in order to respect a sexual orientation does not happen overnight, it takes generations and decades. You need to change people's mindsets and unfortunately it's not through the use of leaving a roleplay if you are not happy with someone—who you don't know—saying a few phrases that you are concerned about.

To give an example, I say fag and gay in my daily language, my manager at work says words like that, and we've had conversations with slurs and slang using an assortment of swear words. Not let me point out... My manager is a homosexual. 100% gay and even has the little quirks and giggles sometimes that show that he's got a real feminine persona, but he still uses a variety of "gay" associated words in his normal speech. (we are Australian btw, so swearing is almost like a passage of rite)

Personally, I wouldn't be ditching a roleplay so quickly because you have a hunch that someone may be a homophobe. You don't know them—just as they probably don't know you—and all you are doing instead is judging them before you have had a chance to know who they are. People are not one dimensional generalisations, they have multiple positives and negatives, a lifetime of experiences and being raised in a certain tradition by a certain family of whatever background. If you get to know them a bit more and they're still an ass, that's fine... But I would get to know them a bit more first.

@BrokenPromise The sp00py meta shit is honestly the weakest part. I was hoping for a Katawa Shoujo-styled exploration of the girls' respective mental problems and home issues.

Also it's kind of sad that Steam tags and clickbait YouTube thumbnails have ruined the surprise for everyone. I was lucky enough to get to the game early enough where I didn't know what to expect from that threatening content-warning at the beginning.

Still GOTY-worthy though, the existential crisis I've been having since playing it is a 10/10

SPOILER: {{ Natsuki best girl }}

I had a mate tell me to play/watch it and I wasn't interested until he said, "should tell you but it's a psychological horror". Changed my opinion and decided to watch a playthrough instead.

Will say that it was more messed up than what I thought but I initially believed all the memes, pics, and creepy shit was just another meme fad. You are right too, it's a brilliant game and it's free. It's done things I haven't really seen before and goes beyond what any player will ever expect.

(Agree with the spoiler too)
A while ago I ran a sci-fi magic RP where you could pick a power, like acid where metals you touched melted, or climate where you can control the temperature, or even healing where you can reverse small wounds. It all seemed rather generic until I added a crystal charging ability where charged crystals could be used to amplify the effects of one's abilities and even modify them. This in turn crested an economy where I can create crystal rarity, dangers of overcharged crystals exploding, and even side effects for prolonged use or simplifying too much power.

It added a layer and allowed me to create a motive for people, but also a history and depth. I could have characters almost self govern their abilities because I could limit their "mana" restoration amount as well as their ability strength. It also doesn't have to be too complicated. You could run the typical common/uncommon/rare system or even a scale that has strength levels that decrease the longer the an ability is used, ie: short and potent or long and weak.

I can't believe people found me a competent GM

I took ages to shit out sub-par quality posts with shallow and static characters trying to improvise a plot with my only redeeming quality having been sheer perseverance.

Don't think I haven't toyed with the idea of coming back to the YGO GMing scene, either. Every time I toy with the idea, however, I remember how incredibly burnt out I got on DT with the lack of a co-GM and the fact I flat-out couldn't think of stuff for my players to do, alongside having to blatantly see them not having fun due to a lack of activities.

...Did this just turn into a bitch about myself?

It's a hard part about running a roleplay. You need a list of quests and tasks for your players and after you just built the entire world... It's sometimes hard.

I think what's equally worse was when you do all that and you can see your players are bored, so you add more, and they don't take the bait. Instead they revert back to "hello, I'm xyz character". Seriously??? Can't some people be a little creative.
