Current Been on the back of my mind for several months now, but I will be retiring from my position as a Guild Moderator and more or less just logging off seeing as I need Mahz to be able to demote me.

I exchanged some PMs with Hank, who is a Co-Admin, regarding my first 2 posts in "The Enslaved". He said it was close to the edge but fine. Perhaps you would take a look at them and give me your opinion, too. I do not explicitly describe the actions of sex; I only speak of sex occurring.

I would hope that having been told this by an Admin, that the Moderators such as yourself would be okay with it, too. I don't know if you are able to access my PM string with Hank, but here is the link to it: roleplayerguild.com/convos/265063

And thank you for your good work, btw.

Nah. That's a private message so I can't see it. And if Hank has already checked over it then it's fine, I don't really need to add more input. It'll just muddy the waters and create confusion.

Thank you so very much for your reply. I was worried that I might have gone too far.

Luckily, I got a reply via PM from one of the Moderators and was told that while I was at the edge, I didn't step over it.

However, in the future, I think I am going to tone down the erotica even farther. I may even go back and tone down the already-posted replies and ask my writing partner to do the same.

Again, thanks!!

The guys here covered it pretty well with the AdSense stuff, but most of the time it does come down to us evaluating the context of the images/writing and seeing how it may trigger AdSense. For example an image of a woman in a bikini shouldn't trigger it, or a nude male who's in a bed with a sheet lightly covering his lower body, and to be truthful there are probably some images that could be posted that wouldn't necessarily trigger it either, but we just usually take a step of, "If it may trigger, we'll just be safe and remove it" (Yes I've had to remove images of Sonic the Hedgehog hermaphrodite smut). We also do have to keep in mind that there are minors who view the site and they may come across these images.

Words can be a bit different as certain combinations of phrases could trigger the AdSense, so it's why we ask that any smut would be taken to the PMs as the PM system is hidden away from AdSense. That also means that you are free to do what you want in the PMs with images, phrases, etc. They're your private domain and not even the mods/Google have access to view them so you can do what you want in there.

In regards to the rules, they are written fairly harshly and firm so that they portray the view that we want the site to have. "Staff do reserve the right to remove any smut which may appear on the public forum" just means that if we see something it's gonna disappear before we tell you about it, and mentions of bans are there as a deterrent to prevent something really bad from happening. In the 4 years that I've modded there's only been two bans that I've seen with both being around the topic of minors.
@Duthguy sorry for being late. Did I remove the right CS?
Lately I've been getting a few more reports than usual about interest checks in the 1x1 section and how people do have multiple Interest Check Threads being posted simultaneously. Currently the reports are approaching about once every two weeks. This does create a problem when other Interest Checks are being pushed off the front page and it is generating some frustrations for those who are trying to do the right thing.

I am now asking that any members who do have multiple Interest Checks please work on consolidating them into one general interest check from here on out to help share the exposure so that we can prevent a future situation where one or two individuals do not occupy the entire front page. (A general and an NSFW one is permitted so people can keep those topics separate, however the NSFW thread needs to be clearly marked)

It is also worth noting that you do not need to bump more than about once a day.

I'll give it some leeway time for people to manage their threads however there may come a point where we will have to lock threads and class the excess interest checks as spam.
Removed
We only had the mature guidelines thread listed in the 1x1 section and anything else was removed because it did end up clashing with the main rules of the site. Even now I think I may have to have a quick check up on the mature section to make sure that I covered the right wording.

In saying that, multiple threads by single individuals is not really grounds for an entire "one thread per person" rule as some people will refresh their interest checks with a new thread that has no clutter, or someone who is looking through the pages may inadvertently Necro an old interest check that was meant to lay dormant. In the case above honorandpride was at work and bumped up a few threads with the honest mistake of not realising it would take up a large portion of the front page. (also thank you so much for being understanding and I hope you do get an enjoyable RP)

What multiple threads can be covered by is the new clarification on the spam rules:
"Spamming includes both the posting of unrelated material on the site and excessive posting of the same content across multiple topics and forums.

The reason why I am talking about the spam rules are because if we were to compare the 1x1 section to say casual, no one would really have a major concern if someone tried to start up three casual RPs at once, and yet in the 1x1 section it can create an unwanted stress on those who get bumped off the main page. It's also worth noting that in one casual RP you can get 5 or 6 applicants while in a 1x1 it's maybe just 1, as well as you might have a SFW interest check and a NSFW one too.

In the end this kind of stuff does happen on a rareish occasion, maybe twice a year, and it's easier to just PM people and remind them that others are looking for people too, rather than pinning a thread for a people who read it and already do the right thing when some people don't even read the rules to start with.
