I would've thought Gems that were abruptly stolen away from their homes, lives, families, friends, and everything they knew would be a little more afraid when a Drakken tells them they're fine, or if one of them said that they weren't a Drakken.

Sort of odd how many Gems here don't seem to mind leaving behind everything they knew and loved. Or hated, in some cases, but I doubt one would be so positive-minded when they're in the midst of those people who steal people, and threaten war as easily as a merchant might try to entice you with his wares.

I can't speak for anyone else, but implanting Lienna as a survivor. Self-preservation is a very powerful instinct, and the mind is capable of convincing itself of a lot in order to preserve life. Think of Stockholm syndrome or something of the like. Obviously not exactly, but you get the point I'm going for. 

I've always wanted to play Lienna as a darker character, whose only concern is making life as easy as possible for herself, given the circumstances. A lot of that is symbolized in water (which admittedly, I did a better job of writing last time; but cut me some slack I'm two posts in, I'm still getting into the swing of things). Her mother has also been sort of subliminally preparing her for this lifestyle all her life. 

As well, she's always got that little bit of crazy to her, in the name of preservation. She grew up in a hard place where no one wanted her around; that does shit to ya. Think of Cersei Lannister for a vague comparison. She does some fucked up stuff in the name of self preservation and the safety of her children; I'm going that route with a bit more acceptance of what's going on here.

I love to sleep, just not at night. Nighttime is when everyone's online! It's when the stars come out and everything is dark and quiet! When I can sit anywhere in the house without worrying about light from the windows!

I'm a student and a cashier at an office store. I get paid to endure anger and stupidity. You'd be amazed at exactly how uncommon common sense can be. Hey, livin' it up over here
