Hello out there! My name's Mason. I like a lot of random stuff like comics, Masters of the Universe, M*A*S*H, X-Files, conspiracy theories, as well as a good superhero themed role play! I'm more of a DC freak than a Marvel zombie but I did grow up on mutants and 3rd string heroes. Once in awhile I'll make a few micros in MSPaint for my RP's because I love designing heroes as much as I do writing/reading about them. I'm about to try and get another random themed game off the ground, if you're interested gimme a shout!
My top RP's on the Guild:
Young Justice 2020 Justice League Unlimited Titans of Gotham Champions of Engine City Marvel Reborn Legion of Superheroes Return [stat based]
Top Characters:
Ditto - Young Justice series Bulleteer - Justice League Unlimited Leviathan - Titans of Gotham Fastlane - Champions of Engine City the Thing II - Marvel Reborn Ultra Boy II - Legion of Superheroes Return
I've been RP'ing for awhile. I mostly RP to keep my writing skills up to par, and I generally RP between Casual and Advanced. I've been a member of the guild for quite a bit, pre Guildfall even. Ninety percent of the time you'll find me in some superhero themed RP or something based off of another fandom like MotU or Power Rangers. Currently in the process of developing my own comics!
Favorite DC heroes (I won't go into villains to save space) in no order: Aquaman, Hawkman, Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner), Superboy (the clone), Swamp Thing, Starman, Animal Man, the Ray (90's era), Impulse, Captain Atom, and Batman Beyond.
Favorite Marvel heroes list: Human Torch I & II, Capt. Mar-Vell, Black Bolt, the classic Destroyer, Havok, Multiple Man, classic Scarlet Spider, Spiderman 2099, Nova, and Colossus.
OTHER FAVORITES: Space Ghost, the Rocketeer, the Maxx, Shadowhawk, Green Hornet, Madman, Doctor Star/Andromeda, the Phantom, He-Man, and Zorro.
The Iroquois man is powered by the Manitou Stone / Moon Stone ebbed in his chest. The Chief has incredible strength [20 tons/40,000 pounds max lift so far], heightened senses and physical attributes. He is immortal, however most of his days were spent in a coma like state as he was buried well over three centuries ago. Flying Stag was one of the greatest warriors of the five nations and has incredible hand to hand skills and grappling experience. He is also an expert in throwing weapons [spears, tomahawks, knives, etc..]. The Native American also has an incredible leap [similar to Marvel heroes like the Hulk, more recently Aquaman was seen getting around cities this way] that gets him around most times. Being immortal also comes with a healing factor though depending how serious the injury is it can take some time to heal. His power is generally seen as supernatural in nature.
Weaknesses:
The Chief is honorable to a fault, and naive as a teenager. Centuries ago he was buried alive but seemingly matured, however he is still childish from time to time. He can be physically over powered, his mind controlled, and sound based attacks as well as flash grenades can hurt his enhanced ears and eyes. Without his mask gas based attacks can harm him as well. SC is vulnerable to heavy arms fire, but at best it slows him down unless the enemy has explosives. He's vulnerable to most of the same things regular humans are, he just heals from most smaller injuries within minutes.
Personality: stoic, honorable, determined
Appearance:
Brief Bio:
Flying Stag was one of the greatest warriors and trackers of the five Iroqious nations in the late 1600's. He took part in a competition to determine the new Chief of the Royaneh [meeting place of the tribes] after the former Chief was murdered. Throughout the competition Flying Stag picked up on a couple of the other contenders having a hand in the former Chief's death as well as plans for when a new Chief is chosen. Stag didn't worry much as his skills were enough to guarantee him the victory, however the competion had been rigged and several competitors lost their lives in a large pitfall. The bodies of several rivals are all that kept Stag from being killed on the spot.
The young man prayed to the Great Spirit Manitou to save his people, and a meteorite fell from the sky into the pit and struck the wounded man.
His friends and family were protected by the Great Spirit, and the reign of the evil men was short lived. Stag's former lover and would be wife, White Fawn, was instrumental in taking down the men some years later before too much damage had been done. She never knew what happened to the man who was foresaw to become the greatest chief of all native peoples.
2017
Flying Stag was unearthed from the buried wreckage of a former Iroqious village in the northeastern USA. Archeologists had no idea how the man's body had been preserved but guessed it had something to do with the stone ebbed in his chest. After his body was taken to the morgue and a wooden spear was removed from his chest just to the left of the stone, Stag awoke to the surprise of his rescuers. He escaped only to find a world he wasn't prepared for. The Great Spirit came to him once again in his time of need and instructed him to find a specific reservation. Upon meeting his last known blood relative Standing Bear, he helped him get paperwork to become a proper citizen in case anybody came asking questions. He would simply be known as 'Jon Flying Stag'. Once Stag had accepted the new world for what it was and the shock and awe had faded, he was again approached by the Great Spirit. This time he was instructed to forge an identity and not only defend the remaining people of the five nations but all Native Americans. He became the Super Chief, and upon discovering the Justice League was looking to branch out he went on the road to make a name for himself and get the attention he needed to become part of the League.
That is of course when he met with Hector, aka the Silver Scarab.
Notes:
* Aside from gaining the Thunderbird to travel great distances, I'd like to give the Chief something similar to Ironman's arc blast from his chest since the Stone is also the source of Chief's power.
* At some point I'd like for SC to discover the power to summon a giant eagle, representing a Thunderbird, to ride on when he has to travel great distances.
The Justice League of America is a team of metahumans, aliens, Amazons, etc. who have fought the good fight for years. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman... shining examples of heroism. Lately the Big 7 (Superman, Batman, WW, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Cyborg) have been looking into recruiting more members, possibly to form a JL: International of their own, or another team like the government sanctioned JL of America. Heroes like Captain Marvel (I refuse to call his Shazam, that's the wizard dammit lol), Stargirl, Hawkman, and even Superman's cousin Supergirl are being looked at for this new team. The Atom's apprentice Ryan Choi as well as Vixen are being eyed for membership. The Justice League is truly bringing about a new era, setting a new bar for heroism.
...but this isn't about the guys and girls already in the big leagues. This is about a couple of virtual nobodies with big dreams and superpowers of their own. Guys who've managed to mess up as many times if not more than they've done good. A couple of born losers looking for a big win and Justice League status.
If anybody else is gonna read this, know that this will likely be a prequel to a team game in the near future based around a new more politically correct JL team being formed for whatever reason. R2 and myself have chosen a couple 5th stringers to reimagine and tweak and I honestly think I'd read a book about either one of them. Silver Scarab is so much cooler than Blue Beetle ever thought about being, and he's got Nth metal on his side to boot. I chose Super Chief because I love me some Native American heroes but didn't wanna go with a giant man like Longshadow or a Batman knockoff like Chief Man of Bats.
R2 - I'm gonna post my CS after this and then you can do the same. We can talk about the villains in the titanpad if you want while we're both online, and when we're not we can just use this OOC to go back and forth.
The group of young heroes continued walking through downtown Metropolis taking in all the sights. Sol was the most in awe, despite living on Earth for a little while now he still wasn't used to being around so many aliens. In all seriousness Momentum actually made him feel the most awkward, even though they've been chatting off and on the last few days like the best of friends. Sol was calling himself Ultra Boy on the other side of the United States in Coast City when Cosmic Boy found him. Metropolis is about three times the size of Coast City with about six times as many people. Working as a peacekeeping force for the United Planets came with some benefits in the form of personal credit cards. Sol's new wardrobe was already twice what it was back on Daxam.
"I'm starting to love this city. No wonder Superman called it home. Anybody wanna go see his statue in Centennial Park?" Sol asked no one in particular.
About time the group made it's way to a shopping mall noises could be heard from one of the more old school arcades. Most of the team paid it no mind, however there was a man walking through the mall that had a strange look about him. As he approached a food stand it was clear the girl working at the eatery knew the man.
"You wanna choose a life of making pretzels in this city over me? Do you have ANY idea where I was gonna take us Seline?" he screamed as a little electricity flickered in his eyes.
Lights began flickering off and on as some burnt out or burst from too much electricity going into them. It was clear he had to be stopped, and it would seem most of the Legion had already got beyond earshot of the troubled young man. The arcade, as well as a certain someone, was just next door....
Here's one more with the pants ending at the waist. I was looking at some of the more oddball choices for suits from the 70's when I was making the first. I also included an armorless maskless version using a smaller face with a meaner brow.
EDIT: I'm also in the titanpad working on a post off and on today since it's my day off. I'm gonna introduce a small threat for Capt. Marvel to take down and wow us that won't require a stat based enemy. Once @Gisk makes his grand entrance and a few of us react, I'll work on a post to move us forward and set up the next battle for a few of you who didn't get a piece last time [Hawk, Superforce, Bulk Lad, and the Captain].
I'm fleshing out the new subplot of the missing recruits as well, just looking for the right angle or type of badguy. Thought about making it an original since most of the 31st century supervillains suck balls. Or maybe it could be somebody like the Emerald Enchantress
I like the new symbol and I really like the little vibration shadow thing he has going on though I'm not to big of a fan of him being that buff. I kinda imagined him to be a little scrawnier than most of the group. As for sleeves vs no sleeves I like 'em both. One seems very classic while the other more fits Pano. The only thing clothing wise I liked more about the original though we're the gloves.
*Goes back to search micros* I gave him gloves early on?
My standard sized hero base is what I used on Ultraboy and Ferro Lad, the slightly more buff base was used for Capt. Marvel, buff teen was used for Hawk, Cosmic Boy, and Superforce. I *think* Bulk Lad uses my standard short teen base while the newer Momentum used the tall base [because he was more lean]. I edited the shoulders and skinnyness of the forearms to mirror their shape more in the original micro base I used for him [I can't find it anymore for some reason]. I use the short and tall teen bases when I don't want them to appear as fit as the others who have more detail in the abs, legs, and ribs.
If you want I can put him on a shorter base and give him gloves, his head fin though is gonna make him tall looking either way. The micro he's on now actually has less muscle definition with a lack of what my wife calls 'ribletts', the extra definition line in the shoulders, as well as less details in the chest. The other base I used for Momentum I liked because of the shape of the torso, and it may have been skinnier than the base I used, but I have no idea where I saved/found that base...
If anybody else wants, to show an evolution of characters, I can make tweaks/updates to the micros similar to what I've done with Momentum once everyone begins leveling up. I'm already thinking about putting a little more white in Ultra Boy's suit...
I think I remember reading it that way now, IDK what I was thinking. But I time skipped that mission anyway since @knighthawk got quiet on us for a bit LOL
Anybody hear anything from @Tengri lately? She's the only female on the team now...
